“I would recommend NC Designs without hesitation. 2+ years ago we purchased a 50+ year old house that had its original landscaping( all rose bushes and white rock). Nicole Cook of NC Designs completely transformed both our front an back yards. She spent time figuring out what our needs would be and presented amazing ideas we would have never considered. Both the landscape and hardscape were completely transformed and we are thrilled. We have lost count how many times people drive or walk by and compliment us on the transformation, as well as take photos. Excellent work.”

“When we built a new house in Templeton, Madrone built the hardscape and planted the yard our architect designed, and has continued to maintain it. They have done an outstanding job, beginning with the artistic placement of boulders and the graceful arrangement of lighting. The garden has been growing in for about 6 months now (since spring of 2013), and it has been a continuing pleasure to see the succession of beautiful colors and the gradual filling in of beds. The few unsuccessful plants have been quickly replaced, and maintenance has been sensitive in making adjustments. We find the staff invariably responsive, knowledgeable, and generous with their time and advice. With Madrone’s help, we have also recently installed a rainwater catchment system; please feel free to contact us next year to see how it works out. SonjaSB@aol.com”

He was our designer and supervisor for a major landscaping job. First of all, he lives what he preaches -- he advocates the use of low maintenance native plantings that thrive on very little attention and water. He listened to our budget concerns and worked with us and encouraged our creativity by incorporating our ideas in a smart and pleasing way. His knowledge and attitude are his best qualities - they instilled confidence in us - we knew we were making good decisions about our home's outdoor living spaces. We have absolutely no regrets or second thoughts about any part of the design or plantings. We now think our outdoor living area is the best part of our home.
