Lotus Landscape Design

When we bought our little house it was pretty clear that the people who’d built it had run out of money by the time it came to think about the garden. It was a sad place easing gently into decay. And then along came Lotus Landscape Design with a remit and a budget to turn it into a place our small family could enjoy. They have transformed our sad and lonely plot into a place of beauty. It’s probably one of the smallest that Vyvian generally puts his hand to, but it feels like he was trying to do something good enough for his beloved family, and it arrived on a budget that he must have designed too: astonishing good value for money that we will enjoy for perhaps the rest of our lives. Thank you!

Overall we were very happy with the work carried out. Our garden transformed into a very inviting space and it now feels almost like an additional living space. Pat, who did the carpentry work was excellent and took great care to make sure everything was done to the highest standard. He also consulted with Vyvian whenever he needed to deviate even slightly from the plan. Aspects of the work did seem quite expensive which is why I have given it a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating.

We had a fantastic experience with Vyvian, Pat and the team at Lotus Design. Our garden is a small space that had grass that wouldnt grow, old patio slabs, old fencing of all different heights and lots of overgrowth bulging behind them. For awhile we felt pretty hopeless that not much could be done to make it the serene crisp and simple space we wanted. However, Vyvian came to see us and spent time in the garden with us understanding what we wanted to achieve and reassured us that they could transform the garden, and they did! Not only did he draft up great garden designs for us, he was so patient in letting us tweak what we needed here and there. Once the job began, Vyvian checked in with us all the way along and was mostly on site with Pat and the team too. Pat was a dream to have in the garden, always happy to explain what they were doing and encouraged questions and communication. We felt in really great hands the whole way through the project which was finished to the highest standard we could have hoped for! Our garden is now the serene, crisp and simple space we wanted, its a new room to the house!

We were delighted to work with Vyvian and his wonderful team at Lotus. From our first meeting to completion of the garden project Vyvian gave us lots of ideas and worked with us to help get the best possible use of our space. His ideas covered the layout of the beds, grass, lighting, fencing, paving and gravel spaces, the reusing of existing plants and materials and finally the new planting to bring it all to life, with a fabulous focus on the textures and colours, with an eye to the seasons to ensure the garden would out a joy throughout the year. All in all a great experience. During the works, Vivian and his team were a pleasure to work with, neat and tidy (for a construction site!), accurate and confident in what they were doing, responsive and courteous at all times. Highly recommended.

Vyvian and his team were so professional and considerate when working at our home. The planning, and final result, more than met my expectations. Vyvian took into account everything we asked for. Lotus and Vyv did a super job, working well with our Architect John Nolan and builder CBA Engineering on a significant ground floor extension/remodeling and coming up with a clever and beautifully planted design that gave us several unique and attractive garden spaces around the perimeter of our house each one with a different vibe but all still integrated. Still in its first year of growth but holding great promise for the future as it matures and we work with Vyv to make sure it stays special and exciting.

Vyvian and his team provided an excellent service. From the initial consult up until the post-project review, Vyvian took us through every step of the process in an efficient and diligent manner. Vyvian and his team at Lotus did a magnificent job on our garden. It was a full-scale revamp to include total clearance of the old garden, laying stonework, installing a water feature, planting, and electrics. They are skilled, knowledgeable, pleasant, and — perhaps most important of all — genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. I had very high expectations for this project and Lotus exceeded them. I simply could not be more pleased with my new garden and am looking forward to seeing how it develops in the spring. I have no hesitation in recommending Lotus.

LOTUS LANDSCAPE DESIGN When you are passionate about your garden, choosing a landscape designer that suits your needs can be pretty daunting. In the spring of 2016 we had a beautiful but sadly neglected two-acre garden in Enniskerry Co. Wicklow. The site was in need of extensive renovation requiring both soft and hard landscaping. Several large trees needed to be removed for safety, large areas of brambles cleared, new lawns sown, new flower beds laid and irrigated and older beds rejuvenated; hundreds of metres of new pathways and perimeter fencing were required and a new entrance and driveway (framed with new planting) needed to be designed and built. Given the scale of the works, we interviewed several contractors. The one niggling concern we had was that most of Vyvian’s previous projects had been in rather exotic locations in the south of France, with different terrain, weather, soil and plant choices. We need not have been concerned. Lotus Landscape Design is unquestionably the finest garden design contractors anyone could wish for in Ireland. Throughout the project we found Vyvian and his team to be thoroughly professional, extremely courteous and 100% reliable. Our garden has been magically transformed and right now we are thoroughly enjoying Vyvian’s consummate skill as plantsman par excellence – the beautiful autumnal planting scheme he envisaged has been complemented by a riot of colour in early spring.
