About Us
Technological University of the Shannon offers a 4 year full-time Level 8 BA (Hons) in Interior Design. Located in the Downtown Centre in Georges Quay, part of Limerick School of Art & Design, the programme aims to develop both the creative and technical aspects of the Interior Designer’s core skills, relevant to the level of the award. These aspects are seen as complementary, and together they produce a competent graduate, where technical knowledge and skills inform creativity and design. Year 3 includes professional placement in Ireland or aboard, or an option to study in Europe for a semester. Studio practice is at the core of the programme with visiting lecturers, guest speakers, real-life projects, and field trips both Nationally & Internationally all form an integral part of the academic year.

Programme content is concerned with the study of interiors through analysis, research and intervention. Through understanding the needs of the client, respecting the existing situation, and researching the specialised area, it allows the student to respond with relevant, innovative and creative solutions.
