“We met Eva at the Ideal Homes Exhibition back in Spring’ 16. We were in the middle of buying our new house and was impressed with her professional and friendly manner. Fast forward 9 months and we are ready to begin with our renovations after the lengthy process of selecting our builder and figuring out how we wanted our extension to look. Our builder was happy to draw up a sketch and we had decided not to use an architect for the design process as it seemed a relatively straight forward build. We are planning a new kitchen/living area for a north facing extension and are moving the current bathroom, which was originally the scullery and accessed directly through the current dining room, to the other side of the house under the stairs. An old chimney in this dining room needs to stay for structural reasons and added to the problem of figuring out how best to plan the new space. I soon realised that my ideas for the layout were not quite working…. I remembered speaking with Eva, looked her up via this website and made the appointment. We are so glad we did! She arrived on time and was very enthusiastic and professional from the moment we met. She asked us to describe the house as it is, any problems we currently see with it and what are we expecting from the renovations. We then walked her through the house, discussing our ideas. After a half an hour or so, Eva had produced drawings of the current layout and proposed structural changes to best suit our proposed extension. We then all sat down together as Eva produced a fourth drawing of how she envisaged the new space. I was impressed how quickly she identified problems with our own ideas for this space while offering solutions. She eschewed the usual ‘holy triangle’ of kitchen design to plan a kitchen that will best suit our needs. She also discussed about ‘future proofing’ the design, that is making is more accessible as we age, made sense now. For example, drawers instead of cupboards for ease of access, a fridge/raise oven unit beside the chimney breast that we had thought would be a ‘dead space’. Eva also drew into our plans ideas for better storage and utility spaces, and offered advice on what size furniture will best suit the proportions of the room. After our consultation, we are more enthused than ever to begin our renovations. I would highly recommend Eva and her consultation services, if especially like me, you want an expert second opinion on how best to design your home.”

“We worked with Josh to design and project manage an extension to our 1930s house in Dublin 7. It included demolishing our old kitchen and lean-to sheds, and building a new kitchen/dining room with a downstairs bathroom / utility room. Beforehand we visited several clients in the local area who had positive experiences with House Architects. The pricing structure was very clear. Josh was a pleasure to work with, and unflappable, which is always very reassuring. Once we had designs we were happy with, he worked to put the project out to tender and managed the relationship and the payments to the builder. This was the most valuable aspect for us.
