“Drapery Guys worked hard to help us choose the right hardware and drapery for our sliding glass door. The fabric was the color and weight we wanted, letting in filtered light during the day and providing privacy at night. We are pleased with the traverse rod that the owner suggested, and the finials completed the look for our room. I appreciated the cleanliness of the work that was completed by Drapery Guys! “When I called Rick from West Window Fashions and left a message he immediately returned my call. My budget was a little tight so after discussing the options for my home he made me aware of the different manufactures he offered. I wasn't aware that there are other manufactures that make similar products to Hunter Douglas that are more affordable. He also help me understand how to maximize my dollar. In my case I wanted the Hunter Douglas Shutter so he helped me find a way to make them work. We went with the Hunter Douglas Shutters for the front of the house and Master Bedroom and off brand honey combs for my sons room who works nights. For the rest of the house that doesn't get much use we went with a off brand faux wood to save money. Thanks for the help Rick I really appreciate it!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
