“I have hired Maria J. Window Treatments and Home Decor for a window treatment job but I've end up also doing the custom bedding for our master bedroom. Maria sure know what she's doing! I got a good feeling when I had my first consultation with Maria. She patiently and passionately took my through the process and showed me diferent options of styles and prices. “We have to say it “ this company really know how to follow up with their clients” we literally took almost a year to decide on moving ahead with the project. Andres periodically was checking on us; no being intrusive at all. He was very patient and attentive to every change we decided to implement to original layout. Always kept a positive attitude and accommodate our changes. Finally we just finish the project couple weeks ago and we loved it. Our drapery and motorized shades reflect the time we put into selecting the fabrics. The installers were very attentive and use a vacuum while drilling the concrete which I think was a very nice touch. Over all great experience. Thank you for been so patient and professional Andres.”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
