However, their additional services work well for sourcing out fabric and trims for window treatments and more. In trying to find a particular fabric in a colorway that worked with my client's aesthetic, the design staff at Wallauer's provided the source, the samples, and the installation necessary to complete my kitchen project. The fixed, relaxed roman blind with simple beaded trim and the Hunter Douglas blinds provided the finishing touches needed for my Modern Cottage kitchen design.”

“I have worked with Nancy from Curtains Boutique for many years! She has done an excellent job in helping me decide what blinds and/or window treatments would work best in my homes. She handled all the windows in my home as well as my summer home. With each home having its own distinct decorating style, Nancy was able to deliver beautiful blinds and window treatments in each that fit each homes unique style perfectly!! “Best fabric choices. Great customer service. I ordered the panel design with a new fabric choice. Upon receipt I noticed the top edge was a bit frayed looking due to the woven quality of the fabric. I was worried that over time it actually would fray. I suggested to the Shade Store that they hem the top for a more polished look. They tried the idea, liked it, and sent me a new set! They also connected me up with a great measurer/installer. They were also very flexible when I realized I should have ordered a four panel system. The did an even exchange! Sent me a return shipping label. So while it was a bumpy start it all worked out and my room looks lovely.”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
