“As an ex-pat living in Boston, Kevin was the architect I trusted to create the new home and connection I always wanted to re-establish with my beautiful County Cork and Ireland. I was fortunate to have purchased a magnificent coastal site on Knockadoon Headland with a derelict cottage in 2003. Alongside, a white-washed shed with its half-barrel corrugated red roof set the inspiration for the iconic Irish farm structure that came to be built.
Kevin belied his youth with an effortless mature knowledge of rules, restrictions, and pitfalls during planning. Keen management, strict budget-setting, and excellent contractor and supplier relationships were among his practical abilities.
The requirements, expectations, problem-solving, sense of proportion, of space, materials, texture, and above all, raw creativity and incredible instinct for the architectural art—he brought to bear in a masterful plan—a vision of a beautiful dwelling through drawings that energized a core excitement in everyone. Then, he fulfilled the dream and built it. I am endlessly grateful to Kevin and thank him for his gift.”
