About Us

No matter your style or whether you’ve lived in your home for decades or days —Wendy Appleby, founder of Your Home by Wendy, will partner with you to enhance your home’s décor, in a way that reflects your personality and taste. My trusted creative team and I take the time to listen to your decorating dreams and challenges and then play cupid to make your home a place you can’t wait to return to at the end of the day. Your Home by Wendy works with clients in the Baltimore and DC areas and beyond. Sometimes it’s a matter of adding a few strategic touches or designing around an heirloom crystal collection or piece of furniture that you want to remain a focal point. I respect your budget and can work with you to breathe new life into pieces you already have. A sentimental piece of furniture that houses many memories but doesn’t showcase your style can be repurposed into a conversation piece. I am as excited today by the invitation to step into a home as when I launched my Columbia, Maryland interior design business 15 years ago. I love nothing more than helping you to fall in love with your home.

Wendy is amazing!! My house still had the original builders paint and looked terrible. She came over and did her magic!! Wendy went room by room and created a painting plan that flowed beautifully. My house is now stunning see the pictures. We had a painter who quit Halfway through the job and Wendy came to our rescue with Anatoly of Jamike painters who was wonderful. If you want the BEST DECORATOR EVER use Wendy Appleby !!!!!

I have used Wendy as my decorator for more than 15 years. She has transformed nearly evey room of my house! She has an amazing ability to take a single object that is meaningful to you--such as a painting or special chair--and use it as an inspiration to build an entire room around. She has a keen eye for everything from paint colors, to furniture placement, to the placement of knick knacks. No job is too big or too small for Wendy. She is always enthusiastic, cheerful and fun to work with. Her work ethic is top notch. I highly recommend her! Nancy Kutler

I love working with Wendy. I hired Wendy to help me rework my whole house. We've come up with a plan that I can work over time as I have the funds. The costs were quite reasonable and the plan is realistic. In fact, I highly recommend working with a designer before engaging in any major remodeling work. She is also really good with working with what you have. We've reworked my first floor by rearranging furniture and buying a few key pieces. We created more storage and a design that makes my house look cleaner. Wendy, is more than some one you work with one time and your done. I can call or email her, when I'm picking out new furniture, curtains or paint colors. Whether its a welcome mat, or getting a second opinion on some outdoor outdoor furniture, she is helpful and responsive.

We met Wendy this past summer before moving into our new home. She has made the whole process so much easier! She has helped us with paint colors, furniture, fabrics, blinds, & lighting, but there is still more to go. We look forward to continuing to work with her. Looking back on the decisions that she helped us make, we would have been lost without her!

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have W ends decorate both of our homes in Maryland and Florida. For the new house in Florida, Wendy was able to quickly assess the layout of the house; pick out beautiful carpeting, floors, window treatments, cabinets, and furniture, all within two days, and within budget. As recently as several weeks ago, she assisted us with patio furniture telephonically, and as with everything else, it looks terrific. Everyone who visits our home to this day asks who our interior designer was as it looks absolutely beautiful. We would absolutely highly recommend Wendy for any design needs - she is warm, friendly, respectful of our needs and budget, and is an absolute delight to work with.

Wendy is a class act. She is in the final stages of our first floor renovation; including kitchen. She is a pleasure to work with; easy to talk to and sensitive to our preferences. In addition, she is extremely efficient-- she gets things done! She has impeccable taste and color sense, and is able to see the "big picture". Her knowledge of available resources is well developed. All in all, I would highly recommend Wendy.

Wendy has done an amazing job with my home and I highly recommend her. Wendy has the ability to add small inexpensive changes that can enhance a space or transform an entire room into something beautiful! She can consult on home decorating as well as major construction projects.

Wendy is fabulous, talented, and willing to work within a budget. Wendy has been a part of decisions in every room in our homes. We have been in our home over 8 years. Wendy has great taste. When making a selection is overwhelming for us, she can narrows down the choices using her knowledge and experience. We are confident with her experise and feel comfotable with her selections. She is always available and responds very quickly to our questions. We feel like she is part of our family. We have referred her to many friends and family.

Wendy is awesome! She has a great eye for designs and styles. She always tries to work with what we have first before buying new. She is budget conscience and always surprises me with tricks she has up her sleeve. She is always available for when we need her advice!
