Susie did a great job walking us through the design process of our house. She was able to articulate the vision we had and bring it to life. As we were designing our forever home, she was able to provide valuable insight to protect the longevity and usefulness of our home through the different stages of life (babies/kids/teens, etc.). She was so patient and when our priorities shifted a bit, she was able to capture it perfectly. My husband and I had very different tastes and Susie was able to blend them seamlessly. We'll forever be thankful for her hard work and beautiful design and we can't wait to see the dream that she helped us create become a reality. Thank you, Susie!

We had an unusual project, a horse barn with art studio and chicken coop. Susie Wieland listened carefully to our requests while bringing many creative ideas to the table that we would have never thought about. She is current on knowledge of products and local resources. Architect Susie Wieland re-designed and assisted in all phases of our complete remodel. We purchased this Arizona-style home, commonly known in the neighborhood as the “taco house” because of its resemblance to a Taco Bell fast food restaurant without a drive-through window. I believed that with the help of the right architect we could transform this home into a modern design while retaining some elements of its Spanish/Mediterranean heritage. We call it a modern-adobe. Over the years I had been collecting ideas and images from magazines and Houzz for years, with the intent of designing and building a new modern home. Then, the taco house came on the market. Susie was able to transform an existing home that had a completely different style into my vision of what I wanted in a modern home. Her ability to visualize space in the design process totally blows me away! Without a doubt, hiring the right architect made all the difference in the outcome of this project, and in the level of pleasure this homeowner experienced. At the outset, Susie listened to me. She reviewed my inspiration images, and she included me in the process of design from the moment pen hit paper. She was punctual with her work, and remained aware of our limited budget. I think the most impressive thing about Susie is her creativity. She is an artist in every sense of that word. For example, the original master suite was perplexing because it was built with 1970’s features: a tiny closet, a very small bathroom, and a gigantic bedroom space. We were prepared to accept the existing floor-plan because moving walls was not in the budget. Susie creatively found solutions that fit our budget. She literally flipped the master suite 180 degrees, and found a logical way to give me the closet and bathroom I wanted without completely demolishing the home first. Beyond her transformational talents as an architect, Susie goes so much further for her clients. Susie was available to help with all manner of details, whether it was the selection of faucets and fixtures, or the right balance and combination of stylistic features to keep my original theme intact. I had a tendency to go off track and select items for the home that I felt were awesome, without realizing they were inconsistent with the modern adobe theme I set out to have. In those desperate moments when you need solid help deciding if your selection of light fixtures, or flooring, or whatever, are appropriate for your home, Susie was there for me. She was and is my rock. Countless times I would send her a picture, and she would gently steer me with comments like “too industrial” or “that’s not your vision.” And she was always right. She has saved me a lot of return postage and restocking fees. Susie’s willingness to bring all her expertise and experience to bear on my project continued throughout the entire remodel. Susie is a master at visualizing what a home can be on paper, then making sure the players stick to that plan to make it a reality. Susie Wieland brought my imagination to life.
