Matt and the team at Western DuPage exhibited a remarkable level of knowledge and creativity when it came to designing our home landscaping. They carefully listened to our ideas, offered valuable suggestions, and ultimately crafted a plan that exceeded our expectations. From designing the perfect deck in our backyard, helping us plan string light locations, and going through plant-by-plant for the space, Matt did a wonderful job helping us envision the space that would ultimately be created. I wholeheartedly recommend Matt and Western DuPage for any landscaping needs. They possess an exceptional combination of creativity, professionalism, and technical expertise.

After 37 years our back yard was in need of a major renewal. The plant material was fading, deck boards were failing, a natural privacy screen for the adjacent properties and sidewalk was desired, and the grill needed to be removed from the deck. We were in search of a creative landscape architect who would be interested in our project. A designer who could develop a beautiful plan that would be easier to maintain and look like a naturalized woodland. Eric Galloway of Western DuPage Landscaping was a perfect match. After presenting the original plan, he continued to perfect it according to our discussions. In addition to solving our objectives, Eric suggested a modest regrading of the backyard, which resulted in only one step being needed to ascend the deck, previously there were three. We particularly like his use of arborvitae as a natural screen, his recommendation for a walkway that included a small patio to one side of the deck for the grill, and the use of low maintenance ground covers. The redesigned beds and newly selected plant material are cohesive and simplistic. We love the new look and function of our yard! The manner in which Eric and his crew executed the plan was also first rate. They always communicated when they were coming and the worksite was maintained in an orderly fashion until completion. When they had questions, they sought our input. After correcting the grading problem, the plants were placed according to Eric’s design. The experience and care utilized to construct the bluestone walkway and patio were impressive. We are very pleased with the quality of Eric Galloway’s work and the Western DuPage Landscaping installation team. We enjoy spending time in our new garden, and the interior backyard views are spectacular and make us happy! We highly recommend Western DuPage Landscaping.

Matt Ewert was our landscape architect. He did a great job of taking our ideas (and his) and designing an amazing Entey if you will (front garden bed) to our home. Matt was great to work with, and went out of his way to give us his personal attention. He was patient as our ideas evolved and was an excellent listener. This was reflected in his proposals. He also incorporated a beautiful 2 zone low voltage lighting with smart controls which makes this beautiful night and day. Plantings will be added this spring, pictures below are of hardscape.

Matt Ewert and his team at Western Dupage Landscaping did an amazing job with our backyard patio project and front yard refresh. We first met with Matt to discuss our thoughts for the project. He came back with a beautiful patio design, took the time to discuss changes, and helped us to visualize and align on a final design. Throughout the entire project Matt was very responsive to emails, quick texts and phone calls with questions. The two crews who worked on the hardscaping and landscaping were great. Kevin, the manager, was very helpful and responsive with the few modifications we needed. Not only was the entire project completed in the timeframe Matt laid out, it was also fun to watch progress on the build (think HGTV) and pretty stress free due to their helpful attitudes. We would definitely recommend the team to anyone who wants an outdoor setting that looks beautiful and professionally done.

Nearly 10 years ago, while walking through my neighborhood in Glen Ellyn, I noticed a landscaping project underway. At the time, I was impressed by the design, the diligent team and top notch equipment utilized for the project. Since I liked what I saw I quickly snapped a picture of the company name from one of the vehicles - Western DuPage Landscaping, Inc. I tucked that name away and I knew when our family was ready to renovate our front yard that Western DuPage Landscaping, Inc would be my number one choice. Before our project would take place I recommended Western DuPage Landscaping to my sister and friends. As expected, the work they did was outstanding and each was very pleased with the results. Fast forward to 2021 and our family was now ready to embark on a front yard landscaping transformation. Prior to beginning the project, I consulted with Matt Haber, one of the talented Western DuPage Landscaping Architects. Matt took the time to patiently listen to my vision for the project and saw beyond our tired, dated front yard to determine what plants (shrubs, perennials and ground cover) would best suit my goals. Through a careful assessment of my front yard and an extensive back and forth collaboration on choosing the right plants, Matt came up with a stunning design that perfectly matched the aesthetic I was striving for while also working within my budget. After seeing the proposed drawing and portfolio of plants, I couldn't wait for the project to begin since I knew Matt captured the essence of what I wanted to accomplish and I knew I would be proud of the design for years to come. Each step of my journey with Western DuPage Landscaping exceeded my expectations. The crew Matt assembled for my front yard project were truly the best of the best from the initial demolition crew to the retaining wall and planting teams. Every day the project manager and the crew worked so hard to conscientiously turn our proposed landscaping design into a beautiful reality. It was a delight to work with them. Now, I finally have the curb appeal for our home that I have always wanted welcoming guests to our front entry in a classic, elegant style. We are absolutely thrilled with the way everything worked out with Matt Ewert and Western Dupage Landscaping! Our goal was to do a major backyard renovation with a new patio area so we could spend more time outside with family and friends (and for our kids) in a very comfortable and enjoyable environment. We had to work around some tricky issues with the existing layout of our backyard, but Matt did an amazing job in coming up with a great design plan. I didn’t really know what I wanted, but Matt listened to what our goals were, and worked everything into the design -- and also was very helpful in providing balanced guidance on where to spend more money, and where it would be ok to keep the total cost in check. We had numerous social gatherings outside this fall, and without exception, everyone has been super impressed with the layout, look, and feel of our new backyard patio area! It’s also worth mentioning that WDL finished the project on budget and on time! As with any significant renovation project, issues will arise during the construction process. But the WDL team handled them all in stride, were great at communicating with me, always professional and responsive, and literally fixed every issue that popped up. They were amazing to work with!

We had major drainage issues that needed to be addressed. We needed to remove our current falling down deck and replace it with a smaller one. We also wanted a new patio area that could accommodate eating and also a firepit. After getting we attained a few quotes we decided to go with Western DuPage Landscaping, and I am so glad we did. Matt Ewert came out and listened to what we needed to get done. He came up with very creatives ideas to help solve our landscaping issues. He was very patient with all of our revisions we made along the way. The crew that worked on our project were always polite, professional and very responsive. They did an amazing job with our hardscape and softscape. Matt and his team have been the most professional group that I have worked with since moving to IL.
