About Us

Monarch Painting paints faux finishes, murals and decorative finishes for residential and commercial clients. Victor DeMasi and Irene Gindera, the principal painters, work with homeowners and designers and can supply expert color consulting and design. Mix and match coloring for fabrics is a specialty. Historic projects include Yale University and The National Park Service. The Monarch Studio houses a large collection of samples and portfolios of completed projects for client reference. Contracted work is available as a bulk price or hourly rate. Future touchups are guaranteed by an extensive customer job file. Monarch Painting has been featured in The New York Times, House and Garden magazine and scores of national and local publications.

Victor painted my kitchen, powder room, master bath and master bedroom, all in faux finishes. He also painted three closets, and all baseboard and crown moulding in 5 rooms and two bathrooms. My job just seemed to expand, and he graciously accommodated me. Besides matching paints with countertops, and finishes on lighting fixtures, he also created a unique and stunning backsplash in Venetian plaster. Family, friends, and guests are awestruck when we tell them our backsplash is not tile. Victor is an extremely gifted artist and anyone lucky to be able to have him work for them is lucky indeed.

We had our entire home faux painted by the services of Monarch. The crew was great! Victor was helpful with ideas on murals for our kids rooms, along with ideas for creating color choices and finishes to create flow throughout the house. People are shocked when they learn the walls are painted, and not wall-papered! I highly recommend using Monarch! They were very professional and efficient for the amount of work they did in our home.

We hired Monarch painting for 3 challenging projects. A written estimate was sent in a very timely fashion. All of the projects were completed perfectly. Victor and Irene were highly professional, completing each with complete autonomy. When done, the work areas were left clean and neat. They finished on time and on budget. I have recommended them to neighbors and would definitely hire them again.

Monarch Painting did a few projects in my home and their craftmanship is excellent. Victor and Irene were delightful to work with and both have a wealth of knowledge of paint colors, applications and specialty wall treatments. They did a molding install in a bathroom and stenciling in a bedroom. The biggest make-over was custom painting my two story foyer and then applying a soft stencil that looks faded. It makes a dramatic statement to guests entering the home.

We couldn't be happier with the faux finish Victor and his Monarch Painting team masterfully created in our older daughter's bedroom. They completely transformed her room and paid attention to even the smallest of details. Our younger daughter now asks on an almost weekly basis when Victor will be returning to paint her room! ... She's already picked out the color. :)

Recently, we had our Master Bedroom Suite redecorated and our designer recommended Monarch Painting. We didn't want our walls to be 'just painted'. Together with the designer, they created sample boards which included the perfect colors, warmth, texture and beautiful stenciling. We were so pleased with the end result. It was way beyond anything we had imagined! The Monarch team is professional, meticulous in detail, on time, clean and so much fun to work with! From start to finish they were amazing and for future projects, we will only use Monarch Painting.

I've had Victor do work for me twice. He does a great job. That's why I called him back the second time. He is quick, accomodating, has very good suggestions and can craft a solution when needed - like building an access door in a wall to a shut off valve. I would not hesitate to recommend him or call him back when needed. Thanks Victor.

They stenciled my foyer and did a beautiful job. Even now, months later I pause to admire the work. They hand cut the stencils and hand mixed the paint which I wanted to complement the living room. Both Victor, the owner and his co worker, were professional, neat and did the work in a timely manner. I would use them again if I needed work done again.

Victor is truly an artist and will transform any wall, floor or room. I have used his talents on many occasions of the past 16 years and have never been disappointed. I have at least 4 different faux paint finishes as well as borders and stencils. I also have a beautiful marmarino finish on my kitchen walls. He is extremely professional, very neat and will work with you providing suggestions and samples to help you decide on the perfect project. I will certainly use him again in the future.

Victor and Irene are true professionals! My kitchen was given a completely new and different look without the expense incurred of installing new cabinets, appliances and fixtures. Monarch Painting was recommended to me when we renovated the main level of our house in 2003. Each room has a unique look of texture and elegance and a little whimsy. We were so impressed and have received so many compliments, that when it came time to repaint our upper level we turned right to Victor. Again he did not disappoint. Our entire house looks amazing. Victor is hands on and approachable. He will listen to what you want and will make many suggestions on how to achieve what you are looking for.
