Verdun Windows & Doors

I had heard horror stories from other friends who had their windows replaced by other companies, but Verdun was very different. I would say this was a pleasant experience which one can't usually say about any renovation. The installation crew where attentive, efficient and proficient, true craftsmen. The sales rep was also very good at ensuring I was completely satisfied, yet he didn't make promises that the installers couldn't complete. Great experience, highly recommend.

I put up a 5-star glowing review when the sliding glass door was installed. Then within a month or so the door handle started chipping severely. They did replace it but it took over a month. Now two months later the second installed door handle is chipping again. See photos. This is a joke! For a near $4,000 door you expect impeccable craftsmanship. I am very sad because I am expecting a full house window replacement in the next few months and had I known their product was this crappy and is just a coat of cheap paint I would have gone to a supplier I was in contact with in Montreal. More expensive but a very different product. Super disappointed with Verdun. I have doors to replace next but certainly won't use them.

If 0 was an option this would be it. Poor quality peoducts and bad customer service. Go with Fenex instead

Verdun’s sales team misrepresents the products they offer for sale. This is not a customized windows and door service. They sell you the size they carry. My windows arrived unwrapped and the install team claimed they unwrapped it in the van. Then I noticed in pencil writing unwrapped. I was told to provide my own trim and when I asked the team to add my existing trim back on I noticed after the fact that the white interior jam isn’t covered. I have never been told to buy bigger trim by other companies. Also, the windows were damaged and the screens looked ratty. Very disappointing to buy windows that look old and cheap. Agree that the sales team sells you on the NO BULL POLICY. Run cause customer service does not call back. You are on your own even after they promise to make it perfect. Terrible experience from start to end. Leaving me frustrated.

We just had a "brand new" front door that cost us 3,456.00$ by Verdun. I attached pics of some of the damage. The side lite window is scratched in two places (they are deep scratches, my finger nail catches in them). The trim around the door looks like it's been chewed by a dog. The paint on the door outside is chipped in one spot, but hey! I was given a piece of aluminum by our installer who told us Home Depot could color match the door and we could do the touch ups ourselves. Same thing with the trim, said we could sand it ourselves to make it look nicer, then left, planting a Verdun sign on our lawn for free advertisement without asking. Should we also try to fix the side lite ourselves? I don't feel like this is a brand new door. We opened a service request with Verdun. If they honor their warranty, and fix our door in a timely manner to make it new again, I will edit this review. 1 star because the door seems like good quality otherwise.

I hired Verdun to replace 6 windows in my home. After I signed the contract, I had a question about the trims. I sent an email to the sales person and also left him a message about this, but never got an answer. The day that the crew came in to replace my windows, they realized one window was the wrong size, and had to be reordered. Then they broke another window in the process of installation. Later that day, I realized one of the screens was missing. They booked me in for fixing the broken window and replacing the other window 10 days later. (Even for this rebooking, they didn’t contact me. I had to contact them.) They were late for the appointment. So I called the office and was told that they were stuck in another job and I was rebooked for a few days later. This time two groups of people came in and completed the job. In the process, at no time, anyone from Verdun expressed any regrets about what had happened. After they completed the installation, I tried to put back my blinds, which were previously inside the window frames. At that point, I realized that three of the windows were installed too far inside the frame (compared to my previous windows) and as a result I didn’t have enough space to install back my blinds, plus they had reinstalled one of the trims under one of the window frames uneven. I have been trying to resolve these issues for the past 3 months but have been facing long delays and dismissive responses!

Must say, one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The fit finish of the trim is terrible and the service manager Marc-André told me "They look really good". The fact that they couldn't even match the screws on the hinges speakers to their attention to detail. There are many window and door companies in Ottawa, my suggestion would be to check out others before you make your purchase. Very Professional work. They do the work according to your needs. Had a window replaced through them and the job was top notch. The price and service both are simply outstanding.
