TJ managed the major remodel of our house prior to founding Sovereign General Contracting. The remodel involved the addition of a new garage, driveway, kitchen, laundry, half-bath, and large covered porch. The entire house was updated with new wall finishes, doors, cabinetry, trim, flooring, plumbing fixtures, and hardware. Throughout the several months of work on the project, TJ was unfailingly cheerful and easy to work with. He incorporated our design decisions, responded quickly when contacted, and got along well with subcontractors. His stated goal, demonstrated repeatedly throughout the process, was that we should not just “live with it” when something was not done exactly as we wished, but that he would make it right so that we would be happy with the outcome. We have lived in the remodeled house for several months, and are very pleased with the way things turned out. Not only are the design, fittings, and finishes exactly as we wanted them to be, but the workmanship is evident throughout the house. The house is quiet, comfortable, energy-efficient – and pretty. It was a pleasure to work with someone who was focused on making sure we were happy with the outcome.

We hired him to do the tile work in our bathroom, we had very expensive marble tile and we assumed looking at the the reviews the owner would be professional. It should have been alarming to me when he did not know which way the trims are supposed to be placed and more alarming was the short duration he assigned for the project. He charged approximately $25/sqft for tile installation. All material was provided by us. Here are some things I never expected 1. Bad and completely uneven tile spacing. 2. Lipping of tiles. 3. Still have a chipped tile on the wall which the owner thinks in his professional opinion is better to leave it there. 4. Floor tile leveling, when I put the quarter inch round trim to cover all the grout spaces I could see gaps between neighboring tiles. One tile sits higher than the other. 5. Grout work was bad and left grout haze on the tile we spent two days cleaning. They got grout on walls doors and cabinets. They even grouted my towel hanger instead of removing it. Not to mention the toilet flange, could not rotate the flange. 6. Lots of unfinished grout lines on walls and floors, had to finish the work myself. Followup: We have two broken tiles one in the shower and one on the wall. After 3 weeks those tiles are yet to be fixed. Never set definite dates, even set dates were unconfirmed, I just gave up.

We are on our second complete bathroom remodel with Sovereign General Contracting. We are extremely impressed and pleased with the quality of work and help with design. We especially appreciate TJs personal interest and enthusiasm for every aspect of the project, his workers and frequent scheduling updates. Our guest and master bathrooms are beyond our expectations and we wholeheartedly recommend Sovereign General Contracting.

I would highly recommend Sovereign General contracting for any of your remodel needs. Had my kitchen completely remodeled ($50K) and throughout the entire process, the owner TJ was there to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. In the future I will gladly use them for my remodeling needs.
