Terry Stewart was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. We began our project with a very narrow scope to address 4 or 5 items that no longer worked for us as our family has expanded over the years. After working with Terry, we instantly became very comfortable and confident with his ability to listen to our needs and find creative solutions to maximize the use of our space. A few projects turned into brand new kitchen, and then eventually kids room.....and even master bedroom. At every turn, Terry provided a multitude of options, usually across a series of price points, allowing us to more confidently make decisions on how we can most effectively allocate our budget. His extensive network of professional relationships was also a huge plus. Many of our neighbors have had nightmare experiences during their renovations and we have been so pleased with the quality of the contractor and professionals working in our apartment. We also appreciate the pragmatic approach Terry has taken with us. We have 2 small children and this was taken into account on all aspects of the design process.......easy to clean materials, extra storage spaces, etc. He was also wonderfully communicative and responsive. During the summer he immediately responded to us while he was on vacation. Terry is very easy-going and simply a pleasure to work with.

Terry worked with my husband and I on our townhouse on the UES. He was recommended to me by a friend I know through my daughter’s school. I have to say that I will NEVER work on another renovation and design without Terry - or a designer he recommends - at my side. He is prepared, has excellent relationships with his contractors - everyone that came into our home was personable and respectful of us and our space, and the work was great. You could tell that this group of people enjoyed working together. We ran into some issues when we were moving the walls of the kitchen and Terry managed the unexpected with grace and excellent communication between us and our contractors. We spent a little more than expected because of these issues, but I truly believe that had Terry not been there, we’d have spun our wheels for months. I’m pretty sure I heard him say that he’s a painter as well as a designer, and I have to say that when I walked into my finished home for the first time - we went away for a month at the end of the renovation - I truly felt as though an artist had gone through our home with deliberation and care, and had addressed every detail. This brings me to my absolute favorite thing about Terry - he is an incredible listener. The home felt like ours. We all got the sense - my kids included, who are not fans of change - that this was our home, and not a carbon copy of trend or fashion. We loved every minute of working with Terry - even the challenging decision making moments. Thanks for your attention to detail and amazing talents Terry! I have known Terry and worked with him on many projects over the past 20 years. He has always been a consummate professional and routinely gives more than promised in any project. He takes responsibility for things even outside his scope of work or minimally brings these things to my attention. He has great taste and can mirror or anticipate a client's aesthetic and achieve the professional results from an emotional description. Terry was terrific on our project. He designed 5 bathrooms with us, our kitchen, outdoor kitchen, and a variety of other areas. He struck the perfect balance of listening to our ideas and adding creative ideas that fit with our style. Our target was mid century modern beach house, and we are thrilled with the result of his designs. He worked patiently within a bad situation with a bad builder, but was professions throughout. His designs were not just creative but meticulous as well. He was calm and kind throughout, thoroughly professional. It was a great experience working with Terry!

Terry did a great job with our new Miami condo! Confident in his ability, after completing our NYC apartment, we relied on him to design and manage the transformation of our lovely, although raw, space into a vibrant and comfortable home away from home. Attentive to our individual needs, it was a family affair for us, he managed to satisfy all of our wishes. Not an easy task, working long distance for the most part, and strategically planning jam-packed visits for installations, shopping and deliveries, he pulled it together beautifully.
