SVC Homes was the best decision we made when gutting our rowhouse kitchen and bathroom. Sandro and his crew were professional, responsive, and detail-oriented, and they worked diligently even in the face of supply chain delays and other issues. Sandro’s estimate was both competitive and, in the end, very accurate. We’ve since asked them to work on other projects and plan to use them for all future work. Highly recommend!

The construction crew at SVC remodeled and reinforce our basement a little while back and kicked it great. Place looks brand new. Price was fair and about what you would expect. Quality was on par as well. No complaints about SVC!

Sandro and his team showed up last week and knocked out our basement in record time. We had them raise the ceiling another 16 inches. Totally made everything down there much nicer. We were tired of crouching to get to stuff and we are a lot happier now. Guys are really good.

SVC is a high quality contractor who does really good work. They work extremely fast and do excellent work. We couldn't be happier with SVC. They totally renovated all of our bedrooms and did a very good job. Looks like a brand new home.

If you need a remodel or basement done in a hurry these dudes rock. I had to get the basement ready for a business project I was starting and needed a bunch of things done around the house as well. They got in and out quick. They are very good at what they do.

I called Sandro on a recommendation from a friend. He was very knowledgeable and came out and gave me an estimate. I was satisfied with his experience so they remodeled the guest house. Good work, all I can say.

Sandro and his Company SVC Homes did a complete redesign/renovation of our 4 bedroom home (aprox 3000 sq ft.) including basement digged out ( Underpinning ). Amazing attention to detail and incredibly responsive, they far exceeded all of our expectations and would immediately turn to them if we were to have any additional renovation needs. These guys are full service -- from creating the design to following through in making it exactly as it was planned. Very disappointing experience. I had to tell Sandro when the roof wasn’t built properly, and the house was leaking. I had to tell him that the gas line installation wasn’t done right because it was leaking gas. I had to tell Sandro when the HVAC exhaust vents were not properly vented. And then to add insult to injury, he has refused to come honor his warranty after the project is done. I had windows leaking water. Exterior trim around doors and windows is coming off. Overall not a good experience. I had to hire other contractors to come fix problems with Sandro’s work. If I could do everything over, I would have hired someone else. Sandro ended up being so much more expensive from the extra time it took, the additional workers I had to hire to fix his work that fell apart, and the headaches. Buyer beware.

SVC Homes performed a major home renovation for me and I have nothing but praise for Sandro and the crews of employees and contractors that were brought onsite to do the work. I wanted to gut my childhood home in NW DC, replace all of the plumbing and electrical, add an addition onto the rear of the house, dig out the basement to add 15 inches to the overall height of the basement level, add a separate 2-car garage, cover the exterior of the house with Hardy siding, replace the porch flooring and columns, add 2 zoned central air systems, add a rooftop deck on top of the addition, refinish and add hardwood inside the house, finish and paint all surfaces, and do some major concrete and patio work around the outside house. Sandro and company were able to accomplish everything I wanted and more. Sandro was very good at communicating and responding to tasks and SVC performed everything on time and within budget. Sandro knows the ins and out of DCRA and the permitting process and was able to get permits initially in a timely fashion and then he worked to get them all signed off on to keep the project on schedule. Of course as projects go, sometimes permits can cause heartburn, but Sandro was able to work through them all with minimal impact to the job. As the homeowner, you will see changes that you'll want made that deviate from the original plans. Sandro is excellent at accommodating your every need. Just be sure to pad your slush fund because additions/changes always do come at a cost. One thing I liked about Sandro was that I bought almost all of the finishing materials myself (tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, etc.) and he was able to install everything that I bought without question or hesitation. His contract included the labor and I had to provide the materials and that helped to keep costs down. In times where Sandro was going to buy the materials, we would talk about pricing and he was good at finding cheaper alternatives, yet still keep the look and finish that I wanted. He and his people are professional, trustworthy, honest, reliable, and very hardworking. I highly recommend SVC Homes and will be using them for a rental project in the future. Thanx, Sandro!

SVC Homes performed the renovation of our bungalow in Brookland. Their bid was also much more affordable than the other two bids. The work included converting the front porch into a sunroom, extending our rear breakfast room with all glass enclosure, remodeling our main level bathroom, removing our chimney and converting to high efficiency boiler and HWH. The biggest part of the job was digging down ~2ft, with new underpinning and slab, new plumbing, electrical, framing, etc, and converting our full unfinished basement into a legal 2 bedroom, 1 bath accessory apartment with two private entrances. They also did all the exterior work, including stairways and stairwells, stonework, and railings. Neighbors and random pedestrians have stopped me in the yard to compliment me on the work they have done. I am a mechanical engineer with a focus on structure, so I am very particular about certain details, and I was pleased to see that he was easy to work with in terms of doing things a certain way, and also very creative when coming up with a solution when a challenge would present itself. And there will be many challenges during construction. I also performed some of the work myself, flooring, kitchen installation, trim work, painting and of course I got in over my head with some things. (It's difficult to get things done when you have two kids and a full time job) But Sandro was very understanding. He would advise me on standard industry practice, and if I needed help he would give me a very reasonable quote on helping me finish. He was always maintaining contact, and is very organized when it comes to payments and schedule. His guys are very skilled, clean, and dedicated hard workers. They are very kind, and easy to work with if you are a DIYer. That being said, Sandro can take on as much of the job as you want, and will do an outstanding job. I never worried, because I had a lot of confidence in Sandro, and he never let me down. This was the 2nd phase of renovation to our house. We learned a lot of lessons from the first phase when it comes to a good general contractor. Price, quality, communication, schedule, organization, and creativity are all important aspects of the job, and SVC Homes gets 5 stars in all categories. I have been recommending them to all my friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

On time and on budget; can’t say enough great things about Sandro and the entire SVC team. Our project was a 6 month effort that included a complete home renovation that added a whole new second floor. Sandro was great to work with. He was patient when it came to making decisions and helped explain things to help us make informed decisions. His team works very fast and they were so respectful of our property, cleaned up the job site everyday. I would without a doubt hire SVC again.
