Sunset Builders, LLC is a state licensed and insured father/sons team with over 71 years of professional building experience. He has lived in Crossville, TN for over 25 years . As a longtime partner in Sunset Builders, LLC, Barry brings experience and business sense to the company. His leadership qualities and extensive construction experience make him a valuable asset to the company. Caleb Ostrander Builder for over 18 years, Caleb is the 6th consecutive generation to become a professional builder. He has lived in Crossville, TN for over 25 years . Caleb, a founding partner in the company, works as the office manager, draftsman and customer liaison. He works closely with his employees, vendors and customers to ensure that the company's high standard of work is always met. Isaac Ostrander Builder for over 12 years. Isaac is the 6th consecutive generation to become a professional builder. He has lived in Crossville, TN for over 25 years . The newest partner in Sunset Builders, LLC, Isaac has worked for the company for many years before becoming a partner. My kitchen remodel: biggest “need” was more storage; biggest “want” was lighter, brighter, more modern space. Success! Sunset Builders gave me a top-quality, timely remodel. All of my needs and wants were met, and the result exceeded my expectations. I always felt included in all stages of the remodeling process but was never stressed by the activity. Sunset Builders maintained good communication throughout the project, including planning & design, bid proposal, contract, selection and purchase of materials, and project organization. Caleb Ostrander (Builder) and Ed Vanderbeck (estimator and salesperson) worked with me to formulate the best plan for my kitchen remodel. The manager of daily construction was Isaac Ostrander, who managed the building crews and contacted me every day to hear my feedback, answer questions, and let me know the plans for the next day. Thanks to all members of the Sunset Builders team for their technical expertise, customer interaction and interpersonal skills, hard work, and top-quality results. My project was their priority. I definitely recommend Sunset Builders and will use them again!

We selected Sunset Builders for our kitchen remodel in 2018. The remodel needed a wall removed, and all the base cabinets and counter tops replaced. They did an excellent job at matching the stain on the new base cabinets to the existing cabinets that were not being replaced. Loved the looks and improved functionality of our new kitchen. We hired them again to do a master bath and closet remodel. Was impressed by the pre-job start walk thru with the job foreman and lead contractor to go over the design plan and work details. The office staff and crew are organized, respectful, and courteous. The crew cleans up at day’s end, and the finish work is very good quality. The company excelled at keeping us informed, and quickly got back to us via email or phone when we had questions. Sunset does use sub-contractors for items like custom cabinets or counter tops, and addressed any issues with them very promptly. The small dedicated work crews that Sunset uses may have a longer lead time to start a project but the quality of work and the professionalism is worth the wait. Their price came in a bit higher than the other bids we had, but in the end the quality of work, and their attention to detail assured us that we had made the right decision. Six years ago, Caleb and his crew did a complete house remodel for me. Caleb had a remarkable ability to turn my ideas into reality, with, frankly, not a whole lot of help from me besides magazine photos. The work was completed as planned, was expertly done, and was beautiful. Prior to that, on a different house, Sunset Builders repaired work that had been poorly done by another company, and made numerous improvements overall, always of the highest quality. I would recommend Sunset Builders to anyone who wants a job well done.

This company is a very professional outfit from the first meeting to the final cleanup. They were concerned about understanding what we wanted and ensuring the project scope and estimate were accurate before signing the contract and beginning work. When unforeseen items arose during construction, they were quick to bring them up, offer options and agree on any cost impacts before proceeding. Their work was planned out and they kept us informed of what to expect. They respected our needs and worked with us as this kitchen remodel was a major impact. The project was finished on time and budget with only 5 minor follow up items. Overall an excellent crew of craftsmen that is reflected in the finish quality of the job.

From the moment we had our first site meeting with Owner Caleb, continuing on through all the intricate interior and exterior selections made with Office Manager and Interior Design coordinator Jennifer, extended through the day to day physical progress made by Project Manager Eddie and team, Sunset Builders has made our dream of a beautiful, remote and functional log cabin home a reality. When we decided to build a log cabin on the side of a mountain in TN, we interviewed four different local builders to accomplish the task. After interviewing all parties, we knew Sunset Builders were best equipped for the task at hand. Our situation was unique as we lived and worked many states away from the build site and worried the distance would greatly impede progress for all involved. Sunset Builder’s quickly proved this was not the case. Caleb and his entire team were dedicated to communicating with us on a daily and weekly basis (as needed) throughout the different stages of the project. We never felt disconnected or out of the loop. The staff of Sunset Builders are truly one of a kind. They are hard-working passionate perfectionists. They found working solutions to challenges we did not foresee and were ready with alternate solutions when items we chose for the home did not meet current specifications. We had the best, first new build experience we could have imagined. So much so, we are about to break ground on our next project with them. Sunset Builders has completed two major remodeling projects for our home. The exterior project which included a new roof, gutters, painting and custom cedar shutters went flawlessly. Sunset's crew did a great job painting the home and managed the subcontractors perfectly to complete the project in a timely fashion. The Sunset crew has such an eye for detail which can be seen in the custom shutters. The remodeling of our master bath is perfect. To this day I can't find a flaw! The Sunset team members are wonderful to work with, they are professional, punctual, honest, polite and clean! With 5 generations of builders in the family they are experts in construction and the quality of craftsmanship is outstanding.

I had Sunset builders out for an estimate to enclose an existing pole barn type construction carport and adding about 400 sq ft. Having worked construction before I estimated material costs to be about 10k and labor to be less than 5k. Sunsets bid for the project was an unbelievable 27 Thousand Dollars!! I did find a builder that did a fantastic job and as is quite common in this area I paid for material as it was purchased. Total cost for the project was just under 14k a bit higher than the estimate but that is to be expected with any building project as the unexpected should be expected. Sunset Builders may be an excellent builder but you will pay top dollar for their services. Note: I attached a before and (almost) after picture of the project. I am waiting on installing the doors until I (not the contractor) can install the ceiling and the weather cooperates to pour the approaches and the sidewalk to the house.

Sunset Builders, LLC specializes in new home construction, sunrooms and upscale kitchen and bath remodels, as such, we have skilled craftsmen to complete the projects in budget, adhering to our bid without having to expect us to come back at the end of the project with extra costs. We are also a "turn-key builder", meaning, we handle everything from the designs at the start, on through, until you "turn the key" on your project, with every detail being taken care of. We account for all labor, material, architectural committee fees, building fees, permits, worker's compensation insurance and general liability insurance. We possess current state and county contractor building licenses, having been tested by the state in correct building and structural practices, as well as, state business and legal practices.

If people are looking for a pole barn type builder that gives "estimates" instead of firm bid proposals, works out of the back of their truck, is not fully licensed and insured and does not supply their own materials, then, Sunset Builders, LLC is definitely not the builder of choice and would deserve the "2 star" rating given above by Mr. Woodworth, however, if people are looking for a builder that believes in giving the customer the very best products and services available, while paying careful attention to the details of the job, the customer's dreams and the customer's desires, then, Sunset Builders would deserve a "5 star" rating like the actual customers that we have worked for have rated us here on Houzz.

We sincerely hope Mr. Woodworth's project continues to be all he had hoped it to be for many years to come.

Contracted for several small jobs & was so pleased moved on to major renovations and addition. have used multiple times over several years and VERY pleased. Appraisals before and after major work showed $2 increase in value for every $1 spent. Several neighbors also contracted with Caleb and all were very please.

We had a great experience with Sunset Builders. They were honest, trustworthy, and treated us with respect. They always said they wanted to make us happy and they held true to that philosophy. Caleb spent many hours working with us on our design and all the changes. He was very knowledgable and was able to offer important suggestions with samples to view. They kept us informed of work schedules and promptly returned phone calls. Their craftsmen were great and respectful of us and our property. Caleb made frequent visits to make sure work was progressing. The result was SPECTACULAR! We couldn't be happier with the entire process. Photos are available on their website.

Sunset Builders helped us design a new kitchen, gave us a detailed price list, and constructed an amazing kitchen. They were on time each day, quietly worked on the project, and to my surprise, cleaned up at the end of each day. They were very courteous, answered all my questions, and even allowed me to look over their shoulders as they worked.

Enjoyed working with everyone at Sunset Builders. Very professional from start to finish. They enclosed an exiting covered deck into a screened porch. Quality work from carpenters, tile layers, painters. Always left the work site each day cleaned up. Any other work needed in future we will call Sunset Builders.

We have used Sunset for two major projects and several minor ones. They have always performed with excellence and within budget. Our roof over our deck has attracted many people to inquire as to the name of the contractor and we have been pleased to show their work to whoever has an interest. We selected Sunset Builders after reviewing several other builders in the area. They were easy to work with and the owner was on top of everything that went on. The work was done well, the lot was cleaned daily of loose material and the crew was professional. Once we had walked the lot for positioning and tree removal we returned to Florida. Caleb insured that all the site work was done to our expectations.

We have 2 stories of deck. The upper deck rain and meeting snow and us fell through to the deck below, so we hired Sunset Builders to add a metal roof below the upper deck and above the lower deck. This is working well to keep the lower porch/deck dry.

Sunset Builders were hired to build our dream home, a log cabin and detached garage. The home site is wooded, and sits next to a golf course, so preserving this setting was also important. Caleb and his crew did an outstanding job of understanding our key concepts, and what we wanted the home to feel and look like upon completion. Sunset Builders were extremely knowledgeable and experienced in home building, and were able to use this to their fullest. Their attitude and work ethnic were second to none. No details big or small were over looked, and the end result was a home run, on time and on budget! I would highly recommend Sunset Builders for any project, whether a small home remolding job, or a full home construction project of your dream home. Dreams do come true.

Sunset Builders renovated my kitchen including demolition, which included removing an engineered wood floor, which was glued down. All the sub-contractors that Sunset works with are the best in the area. The project began with a deposit and scheduling a starting date with Sunset. After I researched the appliances I wanted, Sunset builder’s office researched options at three different appliances stores to get me the best price for the appliances I wanted. They were constantly in communication with me about the upcoming job and I could stop by or call with any questions that I had. Prior to the first day of work Caleb and the cabinet maker went over the entire job with me to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. They put down a porcelain floor after spending time with me to determine the best look for my kitchen, which has four entrance ways. The cabinets are custom made and were installed with care. The granite manufacturer reconfigured my existing granite and found matching granite to make the bar match my existing counter. Isaac spent a great deal of time configuring my back splash which is made of natural stone to make it look exactly as I wanted it to. They always keep you informed of the progress, arrive when they say they will be there, clean up after themselves every day and are kind, caring people. You might find other contractors who will give you a lower price, but if you want quality work, reliable, conscientious people in your home, I would highly recommend Sunset builders. So far they have done my deck, patio, front area and kitchen.

These guys were amazing. When they say they will arrive at 7:00am they mean 7:00, not 7:01! The only exception was a day with snow and ice, but they kept me informed. We had small drywall work in every room of the house we had recently purchased along with 2 bathroom remodels. They do not rush through the jobs and were so respectful of our family's lived with a remodel. I invited them to eat their lunch inside the house because the weather was frigid, they took me up on it but after they finished you would never know they were there - not one crumb anywhere. Every day they did such an amazing job cleaning the work spaces I wanted to adopt them. The work was top quality as well. These guys have great pride in their work. I have used them twice since the original job and they are now the only contractor we will call for work at our home.
