Dave Spolnik was a godsend to our construction process. He backed up his promises with action and supervised every phase of the project from the initial blasting to interior finishes. His recommendations of trades were accurate and when disputes arose he handled them, always looking out for our best interest. With his superior design revisions were minimal. We are completely satisfied and would be reluctant to start another build without his expertise.

We recently purchased a 20 year old residence that was in serious need of a new stairway to the lower level. We saw an ad in a magazine for Sprout Studios that caught our attention. We called and after an introductory meeting with Dave Spolnik we decided to engage his design services. Dave and his assistant Brooke had some spectacular ideas to improve the stairway and based on his enthusiasm we went ahead with a design of the entire main floor. We contracted with Dave to oversee the complete project. His attention to detail coupled with his design and decorating knowledge has produced a jaw dropping finished product. Needless to say we have been very pleased with the whole process.

I found working with Sprout Studios a very enjoyable and educational experience. I have dealt with various Architects in the past and i found Dave and his team have gone above and beyond my past experiences and expectations. His detail to design was exceptional as we went with a contemporary look but I was most impressed that he also focused on it being timeless and not trendy. We took the advice of Sprout to use some of the alternative materials and innovative design they suggested. When we are showing our project to family and friends they are in awe we do feel guilty taking all the credit

We have worked with Dave Spolnik for a couple of years now. We commenced with a renovation project for our cottage, complete with plans and approvals, but soon after work began we discovered structural rot that placed our cottage ‘beyond repair’. As a result, we decided to replace rather than renovate and undertook a concurrent ‘design/build’ approach in order to advance the project and not miss another summer at the lake. Dave has not only done the design and architectural work on our undertaking, but he has also acted as project manager for all phases of construction, advised on designs and design options, sourced products and materials, acted as an interface with suppliers, and facilitated work flow. He has been great to deal with, has been patient as we have reviewed alternatives and made decisions, has been available to us at all times, and has given us insights that have helped us to define not only what we are looking for, but also to achieve a family-friendly design that we can be proud of. He has at all times remained the consummate professional, has been conscientious about costs, and has not failed to convey to us the financial impact of decisions we have made and how they affect the budget. This project has run smoothly and has, for us, been without operational issues. Its management has been professional, with issues being dealt with as issues and without conflict or confrontation. Dave’s relationships with and management of contractors and trades has been excellent and effective, and as owners, we have been able to largely enjoy the process. The added complications of our living outside the country were also minimized because of Dave’s superior organizational ability. We highly recommend Dave as a person of integrity, a talented architect and an effective manager. It has been both rewarding and a pleasure to work with Dave and his team.

I had a fantastic experience working with Dave and his team. I had never worked with an architect but it was an awesome experience from day 1. The ideas he gave me for the house were ones that I could never have imagined. He gave me a lot of help throughout the process and was available for questions and site visits whenever needed. He was kind and respectful of my lack of knowledge of the process nevertheless I felt involved and engaged every step of the way. I am absolutely delighted with my house. Creating and having it built was one of the most interesting and fun and challenging things that I have ever done. I would recommend Dave in a snap. I felt lucky to have him onside
