About Us

Spiritcraft Furniture is dedicated to offering inspired live edge tables, custom made table tops and furniture designs that are handcrafted to last for generations from solid hardwoods. We use rescued hardwoods from large naturally felled trees which provide the finest figure and quality while being "green". We offer live edge dining, console, coffee and occasional tables and kitchen island, counter and desk tops. We also craft solid hardwood surfaces, table tops and counter and island tops in many select hardwoods. All of our work is personally crafted in East Dundee, IL and is from kiln dried hardwoods. Our tables and tops feature our heralded perfect glue lines and are finished in our low maintenance and low VOC polyurethane for a durable heirloom furniture quality finish. Our live edge furniture is crafted from rescued and fallen trees that we purchase, have sawn and then kiln dried to 7% moisture content in our state of the art Nyle kiln. We have been crafting live edge tables and tops since before it was a "thing".

Services Provided

We offer several lines of heirloom quality furniture in designs inspired by contemporary, mid century, prairie and shaker styles. Our live edge table and custom made hardwood tops are adaptable and are often made to clients size requirements with custom legs in steel, stainless or hardwood.

We hired Skip to build a walnut live edge table and bench for our kitchen. The end result far exceeded are expectations. I view the pieces as functional artwork. Everyone that sees them complements on how beautiful they look and how well they are built. A sense of pride and workmanship went into the pieces of furniture that shows. Thanks Skip

I live in New York city and was nervous about ordering online from such a small company. We had some delays with the delivery, but Skip was gracious and responsive. And the piece was ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. It is sleek and modern, but with an old world finish and craftsmanship. Being custom made to my specifications, it fits perfectly in my space. I have never seen such a gorgeous piece at any other furniture site. Thank you Skip!

They have made several pieces of fine furniture for my house. They made us two end tables of different sizes, coffee table, sofa table, corner tv cabinet and a mantle! All of the pieces were made of walnut and cherry together. The way he makes his drawers slide in and out they will never wear out! Skip is a perfectionist he exceeded all my expectations and I'm very hard to please! Just to give you an example of the person he is he was delivering another piece of furniture and saw a few little scratches on my tables and he offered to buff my tables out! Which I gladly let him do. If you select spiritcraft to do your woodworking you will not be disappointed with the quality, professionalism and the price I highly recommend them.

We have used Spiritcraft numerous times for hardwood furniture. The first piece that we had made was a solid walnut sideboard and china cabinet back in 2005. It by far exceeded our expectations then and is even more beautiful today. We have since commissioned a walnut bar, entertainment center, multi-wood bed, and a desk. Each piece was custom made to our specifications. Spiritcraft was willing to work with us to design exactly what we are looking for. They design and handcraft everything themselves in their shop in Crystal Lake, Illinois at prices nobody else can come close to for custom furniture. I would highly recommend that you call Spiritcraft. You won’t be sorry!
