Paul missed multiple appointments and his excuse was that he didn’t put it in his calendar. With contractors getting bad reviews for misrepresentation, Paul’s actions convinced us that he was not trustworthy from the start.

Paul did a great job building us a beautiful new deck. We opted for ipe wood, which is long lasting but very hard to work with. Other installers were bidding very high for that reason, but Paul was able to source sustainable ipe for us and get it done for a reasonable price. He showed up on time and got it done in the time prescribed. When we later found an issue with the initial design Paul came out and fixed it free of charge. That's integrity.

Paul is an excellent craftsman, honest comes in on budget and is attentive to clients' wishes. I recommend him without reservation.

You could not ask for a better deck and sun room builder. Paul, his family and employees are great people to work with. They are knowledgeable, fast, efficient and take care of your property. We built a 10 x 18 sun room with 10' ceilings on part of my deck that was already 14' off the ground. Paul's engineer, Les Petit of Structural Concepts, took my sketch and designed a great, sturdy, attractive addition which met all city codes and has now stood up to heavy winds. Communication was very good and work was high quality with no delays. They really had to know their business to work 30 feet up in the air. Also, the job came in ahead of time and below the estimate. A very high quality, impressive company!

In 2017, Paul Sokol built a beautiful composite deck for me to my exact specifications. No request was denied. It was complicated with built-in benches, a granite firepit and built-in lights with a remote control. He was extremely professional and finished the project in a timely manner. I even came in under my budget. In 2018, he built a large custom table and four benches to match the deck and again, he exceeded my expectations. He is a master of his profession and I recommend him highly.

Sokol Construction replaced our old wood deck with a new one using Trex. From start to finish, Paul was professional and delivered exactly what we wanted. He listened to our ideas, offered suggestions when we needed them, and completed the project in a timely manner. He was very respectful of our yard and his workmanship is outstanding. His price was fair and substantially lower than the other 2 bids we received for the same project. We appreciated his low-key, no-pressure sales approach and highly recommend his company to anyone considering a new deck.

We are so pleased with the work that Sokol Construction has done for us! Paul came highly recommended by another contractor for whom we have a great deal of respect, so once the bid for our job came in at about what we had budgeted, we got things rolling. The job was to have a patio cover put on our house, attached to and blended in with the house and the lower level roofline. The underside was to be natural wood, to be admired, where we would attach our own lighting, ceiling fan, etc. Additionally, we wanted to have a gazebo put in another area of our heavily wooded yard. Paul gave us a quote for a custom gazebo in addition to the possibility of a kit that he would create foundation for and install; great quality for quite a bit lower cost. We went with the kit. Well, the patio cover was completed in about a week’s time and boy, are we happy with it. It’s functional, beautiful, fully integrated with the house and looks as if it had always been part of our home. The materials are quality; the craftsmanship is superior, and Paul and team’s integrity and work ethic unmatched. The gazebo kit did not disappoint and Paul’s team installed it perfectly. In his vision of our plans, Paul also suggested some custom benches to go in the gazebo. Initially I was reluctant, thinking that we could get prebuilt benches at some garden type store, but we decided to go ahead. On the last day of a job with which we were already totally satisfied, Paul delivered the benches, and they are GORGEOUS. High quality wood and hardware and design lines that complimented the gazebo kit… Just perfect. We have at least one additional job already in our minds and will be calling Paul and Sokol Construction first.

We were looking for a contractor to build a deck for us. Paul was recommended by a friend. He did a wonderful job on our deck. He showed up promptly every morning, was very accommodating on some slight changes we had. When he was done for the day, he left the job cleaning up the debris and his tools. After the deck was complete and we finalized payment, he returned and repaired a small area that needed fixed. We were very pleased with the workmanship and courtesy he exhibits.

HIghly recommend Paul Sokol- he replaced old wood deck with a Timbertech one, and built a new fence. We could not have planned this ourselves without his knowledgable input and experience. He and his colleague were here for about 2 weeks, hard-working and pleasant to have around, responsive to suggestions in the process. Price was competitive and fair. We are very pleased, and would hire him again.
