Eden Garden Design

We bought a new house last year that was in need of complete renovation, including the outside areas. There is a courtyard off the kitchen which, at the time, we thought was small and didn’t get a huge amount of natural light. It was very overgrown and in need of a lot of TLC, so in all honesty we struggled to come up with a vision for the area and really didn’t think it could be transformed into anything other than, well, a basic courtyard. This is where Sheldon came in! Sheldon had a vision for the area from the very beginning, and he then worked with us to come up with a beautiful design. We were so pleased with his design and subsequently asked him to manage the project with our landscape gardeners, which he did just brilliantly and we couldn’t have been happier with the end result. Instead of just creating an outdoor, useable space for us, Sheldon came up with what we feel is a masterpiece; a space that looks absolutely beautiful from the kitchen as well as being really useable for us and our daughter. We couldn’t have asked for more and we’ve since commissioned Sheldon to come up with a design for the main back garden.

We bought a new build house last year so found ourselves with a garden that was a true "blank canvas". As much as we like a good garden, we certainly aren't gardeners so it was time to find someone who could take our random thoughts and ideas and turn them into the beautiful outdoor space we were looking for. And that's where the superstar that is Sheldon came in. From the first meeting he listened, suggested, created and project managed the whole process. We are enormously pleased with our beautiful garden which would not have happened without his creativity, organisation, patience and tenacity. I have no hesitation in recommending Sheldon, and have already done so to several friends.

We are absolutely delighted with our new garden. Sheldon was fabulous to work with. We weren't really sure how we wanted the garden to look, but had some clear ideas about what we did and didn't want. Sheldon was so good at drawing out of us what we thought we didn't know! He came up with the most amazing design, and was happy to discuss and explain his thoughts and change aspects of the design as we chatted it through. He helped us with the budgeting, kept to all the deadlines and kept us up to date with the progress. He gave us sound advice on planting and recommended a great team of people to do the landscaping work. Sheldon is an excellent communicator; emailing, calling and appearing regularly to check that we were happy with every part of the process.

After moving into a new house with a woodland garden, much bigger than I was used to. I felt overwhelmed and stuck with what to do with it. After meeting with several designers, Sheldon by far was the one that shone out. At our first meeting Sheldon listened carefully to my ideas and he managed to incorporate them all into a truly impressive and creative design. I felt that he was really passionate about the garden and he was excited by the project, which gave me great confidence and belief. He worked conscientiously throughout the job, was reliable and fantastic at communicating. I’m so grateful to Sheldon for making my dream garden achievable.

The brief to Sheldon was clear: create me an outdoor oasis which I will love to spend time in. It was no easy project to turn a gated hard standing into somewhere that would be an extension of the indoor space at my property but within a short timescale, from initial visualisation to the project end, Sheldon had delivered exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. It was refreshing to work with someone who was as passionate about my property as I was.

Sheldon of Eden Garden Solutions was recommended to us initially for some maintenance work. He was so passionate about our garden we soon began discussing what else he could help with. The moment we saw one of his designs we knew we needed him to design a garden for us. We have 1/4 of an acre of hilly terrain with crumbling walkways, an old garage blocking half the garden, a main road at the front from which we wanted shelter, a desire to better handle the water that runs onto and down the land and a superb view which we wanted to exploit. Oh yes, and we wanted low maintenance! Sheldon listened precisely to our often rambling views of what we thought we wanted, He also spent many hours in the garden getting the feel of it. The result is an amazing plan to work to adjusted from the initial draft and agreed with us. We couldn't fault Sheldon and just can't wait to be able to afford to put is plan into reality. Oh - and in the meantime he often did ad hoc bits of maintenance work for us!!!
