Sandra Funk is the CEO and principal designer of House of Funk, a full-service and online interior design firm with offices in NY and NJ. House of Funk creates thoughtful homes with an emphasis on clean lines and soulful touches, all rooted in tradition. Sandra’s award-winning design work has been featured in numerous publications, including Elle Decor, The Huffington Post, Apartment Therapy and Luxe Interiors + Design. With almost two decades in the interior design industry, Sandra is launching The Design Standard in the spring of 2020 - a template for designers to utilize her streamlined processes and profitable business format. Full Service - Interior Design Our full-service approach enables us to manage and execute design projects from the initial concept to the final touches. The process is hands-on, detail orientated, and driven by our on-site presence. Fees are a tiered hourly rate structure, based on the amount of design required.

Photographing this Old Barn project was nothing but fun. The project was beautiful. It showed amazing talent of Sandra. She just converted unused space in this old barn into the living space with such a charm. Sandra is a very organized designer with a very specific feel for an agronomic space planing. I've worked closely with Sandra and her team for the last seven years. Having been around them for this long, I can tell you that they're an incredibly professional, organized and knowledgeable group of people. Sandra consistently turns out great work. Her portfolio demonstrates that. But what it doesn't show is how friendly and down to earth she is. I would recommend her and her talented staff without hesitation.

We had a small but difficult project for Funk Design Studio, taking our bare white center hall making it into a space that was more interesting. The hall is a good size, about 10'x30' with the stairs off to the side, so when you come into the house the hall is a pretty important focal point. My wife and I had no idea how to tie the hallway, the multi level staircase, all of the moldings etc into the foyer and front porch, all while having it integrate into our living room and dining room to the left and right of the hall...which is why we consulted with Funk Design. As I told Sandra at our first meeting, I really appreciate good design but left up to me our house would look like Joe's Crab Shack. I just don't have the ability to do this stuff. The process was very hands on, high end, and easy. Excellent communication and no surprises. A great experience and we could not be happier with the result.

We love Sandra and her team at Funk Design. Sandra has taken the experiences in her prior career and blended them with her passion - - and it is reflected in everything she does. Sandra has created an incredible firm that delivers beautiful work while being client focused. Sandra has an amazing eye for design, can see very big picture and always finds touches that make a room. Sandra establishes realistic budgets (and has worked with us when our "eyes" are bigger than our wallet), delivers on time, constantly communicates, is available for ad-hoc consultations and has trained her team to deliver the same consistent level of service. Sandra has interacted closely with our other service providers (architects, builders, etc.) and, with her discerning eye, always adds value in those interactions. On a weekly basis, we receive compliments on our past project. We have recently engaged Sandra for our next (very large) project. She has been recommended to many of our friends who have also worked with her on other projects.

After I moved into my Jersey City apartment I needed help organizing and decorating the new space. Sandra was able to help me get a better flow in the family room by moving things around and adding some furniture pieces. Installing bike hooks on the wall behind the front door for my double stroller was such a great space saving tip. Sandra's suggestions and recommendations really helped to make our new place a home.

Sandra has a great eye for detail, I love collaborating with her and I think that she brings true inspiration to the table. I work with many people in the industry and always enjoy our colaborations together. She is highly professional, is great with texture and always gives me something to push the envelope a little farther. Sara and I collaborated over many days on a brick painting reface project and our working styles brought an absolutely successfulI result for the client. Samantha and I worked together on a matte finish marble plaster completely customized for a special client in Montclair, NJ. The final result was totally beautiful, unique and absolutely special. I highly recommend with her and her staff.
