We believe your home is your sanctuary, a place to be your best self. We are aficionados of the healthy, casual, indoor-outdoor lifestyle we’re all so fortunate to enjoy here in Southern California! Since 2005, it's been our mission to work side by side with our clients to create comfortable, timeless, luxurious retreats that are built to last and designed to be enjoyed in good company. I am a true California girl, born and raised. A lover of trees. Spectator to the alluring Pacific in its many moods. I am inspired every day to create, transform and celebrate nature’s beauty and light through my design work. I started designing “dream homes” when I was very young, free-handing floor plans in graph paper notebooks. After many years spent honing those skills, I feel so fortunate now to have the opportunity to share that passion with my wonderful clients. Particularly when it comes to designing unique custom kitchens – our signature area of expertise – I am energized by the process of gathering and refining natural elements such as stone, metal, sunlight and wood grain in my quest to deliver the concept of home as living, breathing sanctuary. I have in-depth discussions with my clients about cooking and entertaining. Isn’t that what life is all about? The cultivation of the experience of home is far more important to me than the style or outward appearance of a space. I encourage my clients and everyone I meet to appreciate life’s daily rituals: breathe in the fresh air, feel the warmth of the sun on your face, enjoy a delicious meal and savor this beautiful place we call home.

Lauren was such a joy to work with and we are so thankful for friends who highly recommended her. She creatively designed and supervised the remodel of our master bathroom, guest bathroom, and built-in cabinetry in the dining room & master bedroom/bath. We were especially pleased with her selection of stone, hardware, lighting, color coordination and the her keen sense of attention to the smallest detail. We were also impressed with the craftsman she introduced for stone cutting, flooring, installation and finishing touches.

We have worked with Lauren at Sanctuary Design on two projects. The first was a tenant improvement for a bridal boutique retail space. The second was a residential remodel. In both cases, Lauren was great to work with. We could see that she listened to her clients' needs and translated that into a functional and beautiful design.

We love working with Lauren! We first worked with her on a small bathroom remodel about five years ago. At that time, we were throwing around the idea of redoing the front of the house and discussed it a bit with Lauren. When the time came to finally do it, we called her immediately. Her taste is impeccable. She listens to what you want and is able to translate it into a unique design that illustrates exactly what has been described. She works within the budget given. In addition, she is such a lovely person. Her style is quite, sophisticated, happy and calm. She is a joy to work with and I look forward to working with her again and again!

I have worked with Lauren on two projects. A guest bathroom 5 years ago and just recently with a remodel of my laundry room and pool bathroom. Lauren is very detailed and has a very good total overview of the project. She is easy to work and was always considerate of my ideas and concerns. For me personally, I like that she finishes the project..... from towels to floor mats.

Lauren was so wonderful to work with. Ours was a challenging project, a retail space for a women's clothing boutique. We had a lot to get done in a short amount of time, but she handled the task with grace and professionalism. From our first creative brainstorms to getting city permits and working with contractors on custom pieces like a cash wrap station made of reclaimed wood, Lauren got everything done on time and within my budget. I highly recommend her!

We worked with Lauren initially on a redo of our office and loved working with her so much that there was no question that we turn to her in remodeling our master and guest bath. With Lauren's design expertise and guidance, they turned out beautiful and the process was seamless. Also, we could not be more positive about all the tradespeople she brought in. The stonework and cabinetry are perfect. We have since had her help us replace our tile and carpet with wood floors. Lauren is a joy to work with and a very talented designer. We will be working with her again when we are ready to do our kitchen.

Lauren was recommended to us by our friends, and I'm sure glad we hired her! We redecorated our master bedroom, master bathroom, and secondary bathroom. Her creative and professional services helped me select colors, fabrics, and design decisions that resulted in serene and comfortable rooms. Lauren was able to hear our ideas and provided us with beautiful ideas. I would much rather see a small selection of great choices, rather than be bombarded with a store full of choices. Lauren was flexible about meeting times and her cheerful, fresh attitude made her a pleasure to work with. Photos are included in her website.

I recently hired Sanctuary design and their team to design the interior in my house. The quality of design and attention to detail was exactly what I was looking for. The interior furnishings, accessories, & budget were all spot on and I was very happy with their work. Very professional and on time, plus they met their 1 week deadline. In 1 week my house transformed from an average home into a beautiful home. Less than 1 week after Lauren and her team completed their work, I accepted an offer to sell my house (in escrow now). Without Sanctuary Design's work there is no way I would have sold my house as fast as I did! Lauren did a wonderful job with the remodel of my cabin in the mountains. She listened and responded to my requirements, incorporated my own pieces and ideas into the overall design and yet brought her own exquisite taste and knowledge to enhance the project beyond my wildest dreams. Lauren was available, checked in with me frequently before and after the various steps and able to keep things at or below budget. I am fortunate to have represented the seller on a project performed by Sanctuary Design, Inc. The property was impeccably finished, beautifully staged (also by Sanctuary Design) and had 3 offers within 5 days, and sold on the 5th day. The property included custom soft-close cabinets and limestone counters in the kitchen birch hardwood floors throughout the main level, custom crow and base mouldings, limestone tile entry, custom built bathroom cabinets, intricate river rock/travertine designed shower,tub enclosure, and bathroom floor. Extensive outdoor decking, paint, and a showpiece, one-of-a-kind wine barrel table with limestone top completed the back deck design. I attribute the fast and popular sale to the beautiful work done by Sanctuary Design.
