Richardson and Starling

If I could give less than one star I would. Delayed the start date for weeks that turned into months. Abandoned a job damp proofing exterior walls before it was done. Repeatedly ignored phone calls and are a nightmare to get hold of. Eventually they came back to finish but they went ahead and did work that I had not instructed them to do, including shoddy, unsafe flooring that I have had to have ripped back out. They also plastered over rotten wood to hide it and fitted new wood touching rotten wood. They are supposed to be an expert company in wood rot. They ignored or pretended not to understand where I was coming from when I complained about all of this. Absolutely maddening customer service. They actually blamed the delays on me saying that I had not told them what I had wanted them to do. However, I had not been sent an updated estimate and every time I had tried to communicate with them they either ignored me or said they would phone back. They never phoned back. Extremely overpriced for what was done. Including over £1000 for “exposure works” where they took off a bit of plasterboard and lifted a small section of floorboards.
