We had storm damage which caused water to start leaking from our ceiling. We did what every normal homeowner would do, we called our insurance company for help. They came out and inspected the roof and said we had wind and hail damage and cut us a check for approximately $2,000 to fix the section that was leaking. I have roofed before and figured I could fix it myself. I checked online for the cost of shingles and found out the money they provided would not even cover the price of the materials needed to fix the roof. After searching for companies online, I chose to contact Brian Darnell with Prodigy Restoration Group. He came over and tarped the area that was leaking and then inspected the entire house and said we had more damage than what the insurance estimator stated. We had hail and wind damage and needed a new roof, gutters, window wraps, screens, and fascia. We also have a very flat roof on the section that was leaking and come to find out, through a very knowledgeable Brian Darnell, by building code we could not use regular shingles on that section of he roof. Brian went toe to toe with the insurance company. He even called in an engineer to confirm what he found as the insurance company baulked at what Brian was telling them. Long story short, what started out as a $2,000 claim turned out to be a $25,000 claim and we now have the best looking house on the block. I was in desperate need of a new roof due to age and weather damage caused by the storms last summer. After receiving bids from three local companies I decided to go with Prodigy due to their work experience and company ethics. They were actually able to start the job a little sooner than originally agreed upon and finished sooner than planned. The old shingles were removed and hauled away quickly.
