Obie Comfort Solutions

I was a long-time customer of Obie Comfort Solutions, but unfortunately there was a major problem with my most recent experience. Long story short, the company sold me a heat pump that did not function as promised and that ultimately had to be replaced, and they have done nothing to remedy the situation. In the spring of 2021, I decided to replace my old gas boiler with a heat pump. This was on the advice of an Obie technician who assured me that the heat pump could serve as the primary heating source for my entire home, which had existing ductwork in place. Unfortunately, the unit turned out to be an improper fit. That winter, the pipes on the first floor froze during the coldest days, and I had to turn the old boiler on. I had been planning a major home renovation anyway, and at that time the Obie technician told me that when the renovations begin, they could address some of the issues with the ductwork. In winter of 2022 we began the renovation, and my contractor reached out to Obie to see about remedying the issue. The technician I had originally worked with had since left the company, and my contractor was never able to reach a senior person at Obie to find a solution. What’s more, my contractor determined that the heat pump Obie had sold me was improperly sized for my home in the first place. For several weeks, we were unable to reach a senior person at Obie to talk through the issue, and Obie offered no solutions despite our reaching out multiple times. Ultimately, I went with my contractor’s advice and replaced the 2-year-old heat pump with two smaller heat pumps in two locations in the house. I managed to reach the company’s owner, Oberlan Rosa, a couple of weeks ago, and we discussed the issue on the phone. After explaining the issue, which he said he was unaware of until then, he said he could provide me with some compensation to make things right. However, he has not since responded to my emails or text messages. I paid $13,555 for a heat pump and installation, and heat pumps typically last 15 years. The unit I was sold never properly heated my home, and despite many, many attempts, Obie Comfort Solutions has not made it right.

I needed to replace my 20 year-old gas furnace and did not have AC (only the window units) so I was deciding between mini-splits or central AC. I have a forced hot air system. I got 4 estimates with different companies recommending different options and ended up with Obie as they were the most responsive in answering all my questions/concerns. I ultimately decided on central AC as well as a Bosch 2-stage variable speed furnace and couldn't be happier. I went with a 2-zone system so had to have a thermostat install on the second floor. I live in a 1800'2 house and they had some difficulty running the wire from the basement to the second floor needing to cut a hole in the horse-hair plaster wall. They figured it out and sent another crew to patch the hole and paint the wall! From the office staff to the installers to the supervisor to the owner this team was fabulous. I got excellent service from the start to finish. MacGyver, the crew leader came back and gave me a run through on how to operate the system and the Ecobee thermostats. The installers were timely, professional, and efficient. They cleaned up every day and left the space spotless. I highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs.

The service is so bad. I will give them 0 if there is an option. They cannot resolve the simple water heater problem for 4 weeks. Can you imagine that you live in a house without hot water for 4 weeks? they are only interested in collecting money. let me detail what happened: install a faulty unit. the instrument is completely broken just after one year warranty. many visits to change the parts and diagnose without fixing units. the total cost of repair (without fixing) so far is almost the same as installing a new instrument. I am outrageous if that is their business model. Should I continue the repair or install a new unit? Please tell me!!! Obie.............

Nothing but problems with installed units and service. Heartless Water tank had to be fixed 3 times in the first week that it was installed. Now central air barely works. Not cooling the house at all even when set at 65 degrees. Service won’t come out for 10 days. Should have stuck to our window units for the ac instead of wasting thousands on this lack luster system.

Recently, I had a whole-house humidifier installed by Obie Comfort Solutions. On Saturday, two days after the install, I noticed a small water leak coming from the drain fitting on the bottom of the unit. I paced a call to Obie and, despite it being a Saturday and bitterly cold, a technician came within an hour and quickly resolved the problem. While it was a minor issue and did not cause any serious damage, I placed a call a couple of days later to Oberlan Rosa, the owner, to tell him about the issue and that I was still uncertain if the humidifier was working the way it was supposed to. I also suggested that some additional training on how to properly test and complete a job might minimize similar problems like mine. Oberlan listened intently and agreed with my suggestions. To my surprise, however, he offered to visit my home personally with a senior technician the next morning to look at the installed humidifier to ensure that it was operating properly and to my satisfaction. Minor changes in wiring were made and and Oberlan further explained how the unit should operate. While at my home, he even called the humidifier’s manufacturer to verify certain operating features. After Oberlan and his technician finished their work, it now appears that the unit is now operating properly. The dedication and commitment to me that Oberlan and the Obie Comfort Solutions team demonstrated to resolve my issue was far beyond what I expected. I assume that this approach is typical when dealing with all their customers. Oberlan and his team should be congratulated for the way they perform. Their efforts were greatly appreciated!

Andrew was very knowledgeable and respectful of my house. Took the time to answer questions and do appropriate testing to ensure the information provided was accurate.

Regular HVAC maintenance. Appointment booking experience was efficient and the technician was helpful and responsive. Communication regarding the appointment was straightforward.

At 8pm Obie himself came out to make sure our defective coil was replaced. They know their stuff and they really care about customer service. Thanks Obie!

My husband and I used Obie for our very old central air conditioner. They came, were very pleasant and fixed it quickly, without hassle. Would definitely use them again.

3back in 2013 Obie did some pluming work for me an also replaced a garbage disposal. The men were well dressed and didn't look like plumbers. Well spoken. As far as my observation they knew what they were doing. I have had no problem's with there work. Even my dog liked them, and he's a good judge of character. I would recommend them highly. In the fall of 2015 they replaced my very old cast iron steam boiler. It weighted almost a ton and they took care of everything. The owner Obie came out to personally make sure the project was running smoothly. After installation there was a problem they came out right away and asses the problem. They concluded I had a radiator that need to be replaced aND they offer to find me one. I would absolutely recommend this company to any. Loved doing business with them.

Really good at their job. They know what they are doing, a relief in this business. I trust them. I had no issues with them.
