I had a decent budget to get a new bluestone patio installed, along with the rest of my back yard landscaped. I had an idea of what I wanted, but Niel (the owner) showed me another idea that worked out way better. I was blown away on the finished design, nothing I would've imagined, but I am in love with it. I was really at a loss as far as what to do with our property. After putting a pool in last summer, the yard was all dug up and just looked terrible. I knew we had to do something but I wasn't sure what. After reading other reviews, I gave Neil a call. He responded immediately and was at our house an hour later to walk around with us. He told us what we needed to hear about issues with the layout and placement of certain things in our yard, like some oddly placed trees, the swing set, some rocks. He offered a few different suggestions in different price ranges, giving us enough options to find something that fit our budget. And even though our official completion date wasn't listed until April 1, he promised he would do what he could to get to us as soon as possible. And within 3 days, he and his crew showed up. They were fast, clean, and efficient and we are thrilled with the results! It's amazing quickly Neil was able to so easily identify the trouble spots and fix them to our satisfaction. We will definitely be using Neil and Sitescapes Land Design again, next time for the front yard!

I had a very positive experience with Neil and his team. I had a full revamp of my yard, all new plantings, stone work, new grass, basically everything. Neil came up with some great ideas, was transparent around what it would cost for different ideas, and made it easy to understand for someone who isn't in the landscaping architecture business. Also, Neil was on-site every day doing the work with his team. He was always available to answer questions and gave me update phone calls throughout the project. His crew was courteous and clean, and he left the place spotless.

I hired Neil to renovate an old existing backyard landscape that was overgrown and challenging due to space and the incline of the terrain. He showed up on time. Made changes along the way that improved the original design and was respectful of our neighbors during the construction phase. The yard looked amazing when it was finished. There was an issue with the health of some of the plants afterwards but otherwise he did a nice job.

As a retiree, i am pretty tight with money, so interviewed six landscapers before hiring Sitescape. My husband and I, after much discussion--and hesitation, chose Sitescape for a number of reasons: 1. We looked at not only the pictures on its website, but also went to the work sites, both finished and in progress, and liked what we saw. We were particularly impressed that Neil was at the site most of the time, working with the crew. 2. All other contractors we interviewed would only upgrade the old stoop, walkway and driveway. Neil was the only one who would give the front yard a new and much more interesting look. 3. Although Sitescape was not the least expensive, but it was on a par with most of other landscapers and less expensive than some. Taking into the account of the design, we decided that it was the best deal. The result proved that we made the right decision. We have received many compliments from our neighbors. Actually two hired Sitescape after our job was finished. What impressed me most was that Neil went beyond what he was contracted to do in order to get the best result. A huge tree was cut down a few years ago at the site, but because the stump was grounded and covered with soil, neither we or Neil thought of it. As the work progressed, the roots, huge and deep, surfaced. Neil, operating the machine himself, excavated it without charging us extra. The same happened with the driveway above the ground level. The outer side border was supported by layers of wooden ties, beaten up and damaged at places. The agreement was that he would reinforce the ties by adding blocks from the inside. However, when it was revealed that the ties underneath were in bad shape, he removed them all and replaced with concrete blocks supported by tons of concrete. Now, we have a streamlined, clean border, matching the border on the other side. Neil is a nice guy, a gentle and sensitive soul in a strong and muscular body. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, money well spent.

Neil from Sitescapes entirely redesigned the front entry and driveway of our home. He did a spectacular job changing the entire relationship between our home and its landscape. Neil was on the job every day and finished the job in a very timely manner. Neighbors and friends cannot believe how beautiful and improved the property is. We love the new design Neil created for our backyard. We had been struggling with a slope, erosion, an old brick patio and minimal landscaping. Neil did a great job of designing a gracious walkway to our door, and a large brick patio surrounded by evergreens, perennials, varied design elements, and it has changed everything. Neal Markey (owner - operator) is the most creative and dedicated professionals in the business. Everything is done right or he will personally fix it. He is completely hands on with his crew and does not cut corners with respect to quality (He cuts lots of corners circles and curves in his designs and rarely gives you boring rectangles unless that is what you ask for). His crew is very professional and experienced but friendly and helpful. When the job is done, there is never a mess. In fact they usually clean more stuff then they created! I highly recommend Sitescapes for your landscaping needs and will continue to use him for future projects.

Changed my property in such a way that it basically changed my existence and how I interact with my property. Created enclosure, privacy and a series of spaces differentiated by use that makes walking from one area to another an experience. From the moment we first spoke three years ago, Neil aimed to design my backyard pond/garden site based on what I wanted, as well as the possibilities he saw. Both times I hired him, he was on the job site every step of the way, working side by side with his crew, handling big machinery and small. He also paid special attention along the way to logistics, like grading and drainage. His artistic ability is matched only by his skill in stone cutting. He knows and chooses quality materials and plants, and will do this whether you ask for formal gardens (as did a neighbor) or a more rustic, cottage look, which is what I requested. I first hired Neil in 2013. In a matter of days, he transformed my tired worn-out pool area, into my own personal private park. Where my pool had been, he centered a large free-form pond in front of a locust tree archway, completed it with an adult-size rough-hewed swing, and platform deck beneath. He balanced these with a hammock draped over a stone patio, steps down from another stone patio which replaced my old deck. The result is breathtaking. And just last week Neil completed a front-door granite patio, with step-down rock garden planting areas, and welcoming entryway of granite and stone. Once again, breathtaking. Overall, Neil takes pride in his craft, and is a good, honest, hard-working nice guy too. You can go get your other estimates, and perhaps you will choose something ordinary; OR you can choose Neil and have your space transformed into something beyond your imagination or expectation. I chose Sitescapes, and am more than pleased and grateful. We LOVE our outdoor space; it is now our pride and joy.

Neil and his crew did a great job. We have about 85 foot driveway from the street to a two car garage under the house. We had railroad ties retaining walls from the street down to the garage. Neil and his crew removed all the railroad ties and a couple of trees then resculpted the ground and brought in boulders to totally redesign the front landscaping of the property. He topped it off with a sculptured driveway of blacktop. He also built beautiful new steps and walk of large bluestone slate. We love the outcome of the project and also our friends are very impressed with the job. We even have had complete strangers stop to comment on how great the transformation is of the front of our property.

We hired Neil to redesign our patio area. From concept to completion, he was professional, knowledgeable and accommodating, all in addition to his talent as a designer.
