Matt Williams Architects

Matt Williams Architects (MWA) designed and project-managed the construction of our small family home in Hobart, Tasmania between 2010-2011. We have been extremely happy with our home, which has won a Housing Industry Association award, was runner up in its category in the 2012 Master Builders Association awards and was recently shortlisted in the Tasmanian Architecture awards. As Principal at the firm, Matt is passionate about both the aesthetics and performance of his buildings and will advocate strongly for his designs, but is not at all dogmatic and responds well to client direction and individual tastes. Importantly for us, Matt was enthusiastic about working with a constrained budget to deliver beautifully resolved and finely detailed design elements, which was not as evident with other architects we had approached to discuss our brief. He is also a very warm and approachable individual, which made communication - especially design meetings - a great experience throughout the project. We have recommended MWA to close friends who have also used their services and are always happy to act as referee for the firm.

Matt Williams architecture provided an excellent service that rendered together all of our ideas into a beautiful home. He was always professional and realistic with us, helping us to work within our budget. He was very knowledgable in creating a very eco friendly home, that catered perfectly to the Tasmanian environment.
