Bonnie and her staff are wonderful! I have been working with Bonnie on a whole home remodel. She really takes the time to listen and to understand the look that I am trying to achieve. She has great taste and is showing me items that I have not seen before which I like because one of the reasons you use a designer is to have somewhat of a unique look. Bonnie is excellent at making your vision a reality. She is doing and excellent job and helping me keep continuity through our home yet everything is a bit different. She and her staff are not only professional but just plain fun to work with. With such a large project, Bonnie has been a tremendous help in lessening the stress of a project that could easily seem overwhelming. Her eye for color, texture and style are obvious. She is a great communicator and really listens. This project has been a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bonnie or use her again for ANY project. Thank you Bonnie! You are the BEST!

I originally talked to Bonnie over the phone and she said it would be $100 per hour after the first visit and if we bought furniture the $100 per hour would go towards the furniture. I said I’m sure your furniture is going to be out of our budget as we buy most of our things from Costco. She said our prices are competitive with Costco. I said well let’s just start with where our current furniture and pictures should go and then we will see what other stuff we need. On October 30th Bonnie the owner from Martel Interiors came over to provide a free consultation of her interior decorating services. We signed into an agreement which at that time I gave her a $500 retainer. During the initial visit she measured the whole house and left. We never heard back from her for two weeks. We then set the appointment up with her for November 21st and we were so excited to see what she had. We thought when she came in she would show us where our current furniture, pictures, etc. should go and she would have it on a computer so we could vision how the house would look. When she came in she had 6 little pictures that were printed from the internet, two rug samples, a sheet that showed were the sofa and chairs should go, (They were already in that spot), and two very neutral paint color samples. She then handed us an quote to purchase 1 small sofa, 4 small tables, 2 rugs and 3 accent chairs and the quote was $14,212.77. Wait, What!!!!!! We could not believe the prices she gave us when we told her that her furniture was secondary. The rugs were $1700 each and we have two small children that would ruin those in about a week. We told her we did not want to buy the furniture but asked why she didn’t design the rest of the house and why she only gave a black and white sheet with the sofas and chairs in place and she said that my $500 retainer was all used up. What!!!!!! Are you kidding me!!! So we spent $500 and you told us that our sofa and chair is where it should be and gave us a couple of pictures of some tables we should buy that are way over priced??? I asked her to send me a statement on how the hours were used and she did. She charged us for 1.5 hours for the supposed free first visit. She was actually here for 1.25 hours as I checked the cameras. It took 2 hours to draw a floor plan for 2 sofas and 3 chairs. 1 hour to select upholstery & fabric option which we never asked for. 30 minutes to select paint colors (30 minutes?? Was this her first time selecting colors). 1.5 hours to select tables and rug sizes and 1 hour to come back 3 weeks later to show us nothing of what we wanted. She said you should have told me you didn’t want to spend $1700 on rugs. NO, you should have asked us what we expected once the $500 was used up. Here we are $500 down and all we have is a lesson learned. I was ok with losing the $500 but just wanted her to send us our measurements we paid for and after two attempts she has completely ignored our messages. So now I have to waste my time writing this review so no one else has to go through this. Buyer beware.

I would highly recommend Bonnie Martel for any home or office interior design project... of any size! Bonnie is an experienced and talented professional. What I appreciate most about her is that she is so willing to listen and learn about my preferences. Other designers might push their own vision. Bonnie, however, listens to your vision and then brings in her creativity, experience, and talent to help you create a space beyond your wishes! She has helped me create a warm, inviting home that looks like it belongs in a magazine, all within my budget. She has helped me with kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, bedroom, window treatments, carpets, and furniture. She is simply amazing!
