Mark Stewart Home Design exceeded my expectations with their exceptional work on my dream house. Their expertise and attention to detail left me thrilled and fully satisfied. Mark Stewart caught our attention with his designs we found on his site. In our initial consultation with him he seemed very professional and easy to work with. This is where it ended. We provided him with a lot of information to begin with, and yet it still took him more than three times the time he said and was very impatient with snide remarks when dealing with changes. I attempted to address this with him and thought we had worked things out, but his slow responses and poor attitude continued to the point where we decided to find someone else. When I notified him of this, he responded curtly and critically instead of attempting to identify the problem or work things out, and certainly didn't offer any compensation for not being able to complete the project; his initial deposit was more than the total cost for who we used. We were willing to pay the triple to quadruple rate he charges if we would have received the product we expected from him, but the unprofessionalism, in both attitude and results, were disheartening and disappointing. It definitely seems Mark has creative talent, but if you don't want to deal with a prima donna, look elsewhere.

Mark and his team are very dedicated and easy to work with! Marks unique ability to translate your ideas into reality makes a stressful process enjoyable. They never gave us the feeling they were just trying to "get it done" . They wanted us to love it, and we do!

I have been in construction business since 1995 and used many home Designers and architects and Marks company is by far the most professional and detail oriented company I have used. I strongly recommend them and plan to use them for future projects

We highly recommend working with Mark Stewart. We found a plan online oh his that we loved, but it wasn't quite perfect for our family. Mark helped us redesign the plan and customize it to what we had been thinking and dreaming up. He was so easy to work with, very responsive, and reasonable when we had to make changes. He communicated with us well and really listened to our goals that we were wanting to accomplish. When we build again someday, we will definitely be working with Mark Stewart again. Mark listened and took the time to really get what we wanted. We did a great deal of fine tuning and he was very patient with revisions we requested. I think we probably exceeded the time he has budgeted for our plans by a fairly significant amount but he stayed with us and produced the plan we were looking for. He then stayed with us again when the plot plan was subjected to an inordinate number of pretty minute revisions required by the building jurisdiction. My five star rating is both for how graciously Mark stayed with us through the process and the really good plan he produced. We had a unique constraint, integrating our home design with an existing historic building and Mark hit it out of the park.

We are planning to build a custom home in Central Oregon and were introduced to Mark Stewart by our prospective home builder. We have found Mark to be very pleasant and easy to work with. He took our ideas for our future retirement home/family gathering place and put them to paper. While we had very clear ideas and opinions about what we wanted, Mark would use his expertise to make recommendations and changes where needed. We live in California and have had to work with Mark via the telephone or e-mail. While we were a little nervous about this initially, this has proven to be very efficient. He is always quick to respond to our messages and requests and gets the revised plans to us in a very timely manner. We highly recommend him and would definitely work with him again if needed.

Mark was recommended to me by my builder. I am building a retirement home at Brasada Ranch in central OR. I wanted a design that was practical yet elegant for the ranch styles that were present in the Brasada community. Using Mark's Custom Design Process, Mark was able to design a custom home just the way I liked it in just a few months of time from initial idea phase to preliminary design approval. Mark spent time with me, asked me questions that helped him understand the style I wanted in my new home. He was flexible during the designing phase, when I wanted more light, he added more light. He also was flexible during the review phase when the Brasada Design review required some changes. In the last 12 years I have asked Mark Stewart to do the impossible for me more than 5 times. As a designer myself and coming from a family of talented artists I have an extremely high level of expectation so, I approached Mark to design a 12,000 custom home for me after giving him my input, the home he designed was beyond my expectations. It was a masterpiece. A few years later I asked Mark again to design an elaborate man cave/helicopter hanger with a network of underground caves to include a massive underground aquarium. After purchasing nearly 1000 acres of pristine property in battleground Washington, I called Mark and said I have something I want you to create for me and don't hold anything back. I asked Mark to design the entrance to what I believe to be the nicest gated luxury home community in the Northwest. Not only did he design my entrance with a 40' timber framed and covered entrance he had an entrance with a guard house, rock walls, landscape and 3 massive water falls that take your breath away and we built it. Mark made the progression from our basic ideas to complete set of plans including interior design unbelievably easy. Mark designed our dream house. He got our vision and created a beautiful home with special details that give it a laid back feel.

Mark Stewart designed the perfect home for me. He took a beautiful rural setting and melded the house into the landscape in a FLW fashion. He created a home that is magical in every sense - windows to capture the breathtaking view and bring in light on every side; porches / decks / patios to take advantage of the outdoors; functionality with total class for both entertaining and raising a family. He did an especially wonderful job with "my space" - an office / bedroom that rivals anything I have ever seen in unique features that make it a place I never want or have to leave. His attention to detail provided a prairie style home with just the right amount of grandiosity created by the large stone columns gracing the entrance and carport. Mark was essential in helping me choose the slate that flows from front porch to entryway to the face of a large central fireplace.
