About Us

I have a personal fondness for elegant historical homes, strong architectural details and moldings, and beautiful eighteenth and nineteenth century English and French antiques or reproductions. Throughout the years, I have been retained to design and customize residential spaces, including entire houses, additions, new rooms and basements. My knowledge of interior design and years of experience were particularly useful when I acted as a general contractor during the building of my residence a few years ago. I have also been commissioned to do commercial interiors, including a golf clubhouse. Working alongside architects, I have often made recommendations to modify blueprints (such as moving windows and doorways, resizing rooms, relocating electrical outlets, adding a wall, fireplace or other feature, etc.) to enhance the interior spaces. Making an alteration on paper is significantly less expensive than making the same alternation once construction is underway. I know where to shop for the best in home furnishings, and I can refer you to accomplished and reliable tradesmen and artisans, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, finish carpenters, faux finishers, etc.

We have used Margaret Brower for several projects at our home, the most recent being a major kitchen renovation. Margaret understands what we like, and put together a beautiful design. She has an amazing eye and wonderful taste. Her attention to detail is beyond compare. The vendors she uses are all very professional and personable, and were a joy to work with. The contractors she used on our project were all very professional, dependable and skilled. We will be calling Margaret again for our next project!

Margaret was responsive, helpful, creative and fun. As a bachelor again at 50, and completely lost decorating - beyond egg crates and flat screen TVs anyway, I needed LOTS of patience and guidance. Before long my place was painted, new lighting, area rugs, prints on the walls. I even learned what a duvet is! Great job and thanks Margaret!

In my search for finding the proper materials that would be durable enough to withstand the daily wear and tear of an animal hospital waiting room while matching the decor and feeling of my hospital lobby, Margaret Brower interiors came up with the perfect match. After 15 years of daily use and abuse by my four legged patients jumping, sitting and even having a fair number of accidents I decided to reupholster the seating area. I went back to Margaret, selected from a vast array of products and completed the project on time and within budget. I highly recommend Margaret for any project that requires a professional interior designer with excellent taste that produces a consistent and reliable product.

Margaret designed our kitchen and created a bright, beautiful space that is our favorite room in the house. She paid careful attention to our taste, gave very valuable feedback on what would work and what wouldn't, and introduced several ideas we would never have thought of that increased the functionality of the space tenfold. When you do not know what to do, which colors best work together, and what furniture to use to was great to turn things over to Maggie. She was very helpful and then efficiently and professionally got everything done. It was a pleasure working with her.
