This is an extremely delayed review as Ravenscourt helped us with our backyard project last March 2023, but I had to make sure to come and share what an incredible team they are. From the beginning, Shawn and Laurin were so thorough and intentional. They took our requests and came back with a beautiful design that was even better than what we imagined. Their crew works so efficiently, and we were able to enjoy our new space within the week. Even a year later, our garden is a space we frequent and enjoy, whereas before, we rarely stepped into it at all. Shawn and Laurin are amazing to work with and have the utmost respect for the environment and nature. I would definitely recommend Ravenscourt for any sort of garden design in Houston.

Ravenscourt transformed my backyard into a light and lush sanctuary. It was a decaying 80’s style pool and cracked concrete wasteland. Now it’s on its way to a lush retreat. My favorite additions of their’s are the structural works—a cedar front porch (sturdy with good design), cedar back steps with a railing (both appealing and safe), and a number of steel, large planter boxes which give the space structure and beauty + a vegetable garden. Their team of workers were professional and never left a mess. Also they worked everyday until the job was done. Shawn and Laurin make a great team. I rarely if ever do negative reviews because I do not want to harm a small business, but I felt it was necessary to provide a review of the work done for us by Ravenscourt. Two years ago they designed and built a wood patio with planters for our small yard and exterior wood doors to screen a side storage area, along with landscaping. We love the design, but within a week of completion we began to have issues. Immediately, several wood planks that splintered, and the doors to the side area were too heavy for the plastic hinges and could not be opened. I showed the doors to Shawn on his last visit and he told me there was nothing they could do (we have since had the doors rebuilt and with steel hinges). Shawn’s team replaced several splintering planks on the deck within 60 days of completion. Since that time, the wood patio and planters have continued to split and crack and some pieces have rotted all the way through (see photos). The tops of the planters and planks are warped and uneven and when it rains, there is standing water. We emailed Shawn this June with photos and he responded “I have not seen our decking decay in such a quick time. I do not know for sure why there is rot.” Although we have attempted to discuss this with him on numerous occasions, he has since been non-responsive. The cost of the cedar wood and installation was $13,000—for wood that is obviously defective. In addition to the rotting wood, other problems include every few months we fill the planters with a significant amount of soil since the planters are open at the bottom and the soil leaks out. The drip lines that they installed within the planters no longer work and are jutting out at the top of the planters – most likely due to the continued movement of the soil. We understand if there is no warranty, but we would expect that Ravenscourt would at least respond and provide us with some options. We were expecting more from this company.

We worked with Laurin & Shawn to completely transform our small townhome backyard to a wonderful, inviting New Orleans courtyard inspired outdoor space. I really enjoyed the process of working with Ravenscourt and seeing their plan & drawing of their vision for the space & what it could be!! I couldn’t articulate exactly what I wanted and I know zero about plants but in our meetings & discussions, they really delivered!!! We are enjoying the space immensely!

Shawn, Laurin, and their team are incredibly professional and deliver an amazing product. They listened carefully to our wish list and gave us practical advice on how best to implement the vision for our home in an economic manner that was within the budget for our project. Our project included a complete makeover of our front yard. Laurin designed a front patio with a seating wall, along with landscaping and a water feature and decorative planters and pots, that mesh perfectly with the Mediterranean style of our home and greatly enhance its curb appeal. Laurin and Shawn are honest and courteous and are very helpful in providing suggestions to help add value to the process and save costs where possible. Their team is very experienced and their level of craftmanship and attentiveness to detail is top-notch. We are extremely pleased with their final product and would recommend them without hesitation for any project.

Shawn and Laurin did a phenomenal job with our front and backyard landscaping project! We wanted our yard to become an oasis for us to enjoy - and now it is! They were so easy to work with, great at communicating, and over-delivered on the project from beginning to end. Our backyard was a "train wreck" after we finished construction of a second floor garage apartment. We generally knew what we wanted, but lacked the ability to get it designed and installed. Shawn and Laurin came over and interviewed us and then came up with a wonderful functioning backyard design with all that we had asked for. The perils of construction through Covid didn't make it easy, but we got there and are extremely happy with our finished product. It was great working with creative and knowledgeable people with the ability to follow through with construction to the finish.

We really enjoyed working with Shawn, Laurin, and their team. We appreciated their design services since we only had a basic idea in mind and love the end result. Their after care advice and support is also great to keep our new garden looking its best.

Shawn, Laurin and their crew were incredible. We had a huge project that included drainage, upgrading sprinkler system, building a large pergola, brick pavers for pergola and sidewalks and most importantly coming up with a landscape design for a large property that was a mess and a blank slate. We knew almost nothing about plants and Laurin came through in a big way with her recommendations, which has turned out to be stunning and functional with regards to dealing with moving standing water from the property and attracting bees and butterflies. They are very knowledgeable, honest and were willing to patiently answer the constant questions I had.

Shawn and Laurin did a great job for us. We loved the design. It was innovative and really fit our space and our lifestyle, They listened to what we wanted and put together a very functional design. We had three spaces. The front yard stayed simple with clean lines. Our courtyard is a zen garden with hot tub and deck. The backyard got more creative with a spiral lawn, beneficial bug house and water feature. Its perfect for us and our grandchildren. All in all, very professional and responsive.

Shawn and Laurin were so great to work with, very professional and responsive. They listened to our needs and wants for a dog-friendly, easy-to-care-for backyard and came up with an excellent design for it. They explained the costs and schedule clearly and answered all our questions we had before, during, and after the project. The work on it (thru a hot summer) was steady and sure, any hiccups were dealt with promptly. We are so happy with the end result and look forward to seeing all the plants bloom and grow.

It was such a pleasure working with Laurin and Shawn on my backyard project. I'd recently moved into a home that had backyard space, but wasn't very useable when I moved in. After speaking with Shawn briefly over the phone completing the online questionnaire, I was initially surprised by the wait for the in-person consult, but also realize that's a sign of a good business to be busy. I was happy to wait for a highly recommended landscaper than rush to get it done by someone else. When they started, the entire project took a week and a half, and it has completely transformed my backyard into extended outdoor living space: a lovely paver patio, raised garden beds to plant veggies with my son, a garden bed of native plants and a tall post to string pretty lights from - this is my new happy place, and I'm so grateful to the entire Ravenscourt team for helping me to see my yard's full potential.

We wanted to add a SoCal-style brick patio to complement our 1914 Mission Revival home and Laurin at Ravenscourt created a gorgeous design, complete with a low seating wall and a pollinator garden for our love of bees and monarchs. Shawn and his team were working 6 days a week for many weeks getting everything just right. They were finished one week before the house was on a historic homes tour and we received many, many compliments on it. We’ve had multiple people tell us the patio looks like it has always been a part of the property. More importantly, our family is now out on the patio most every day looking for new caterpillars, playing frisbee, blowing bubbles, and hanging in the swing. We absolutely recommend Ravenscourt.

I cannot say enough how thrilled I am with my new backyard. Shawn and Laurin were able to take my ideas/concerns/wishes and turn them into a magical space that is far beyond what I ever imagined it could be. My yard used to be an eyesore and a point of stress/anxiety for me when I was in the space. With the transformation, I now look forward to my time out there and use it as a place to de-stress after a long day at work. I love showing it off to my family and friends and look forward to utilizing it all summer long for backyard get-togethers. When I first met with Shawn and Laurin, I told them I wanted something easy to maintain (i.e., stress-free!), but that would be inviting and a good space for entertaining, and also a place that my small dog could use. I live on a busy street, so minimizing road noise was also a high priority for me. Ultimately, their design included artificial turf, low-maintenance plants, drip irrigation, a water feature with raised beds on either side, a green wall of ivy, and strategic lighting. The fountain and raised beds are the focal point of the yard. They knocked it out of the park with this feature. Not only does the modern, sleek look match perfectly with my house, but its extremely functional. The fountain provides a nice white noise to distract from the constant road noise on Yale, and the raised beds provide additional seating for guests. Overall, I was so pleased with the experience and the final product. Shawn and Laurin are a dream team - they really are so good at what they do! You won't regret using them.

Ravenscourt did a fantastic job on our small Heights bungalow. Shawn and Laurin were great. Communication from start to finish was thorough and timely. They answered all my questions through text, email and phone calls and even calmed my nerves during a mid construction freak out. We had several contractors come out and bid for the job and Ravenscourt came in closest to our planned budget with no surprises. We are so pleased with the work and would definitely recommend them! We had a small space surrounding our townhome in the Heights segmented by existing fencing that left the space unusable and claustrophobic. The existing plants were not attractive and/or overly sized for the space, including a live oak planted a few feet from the house that was growing into the electric lines. We visited with Shawn and Laurin at Ravenscourt and knew right away they were the ones we wanted to work with. They came up with a plan that worked with our budget and we're so thrilled with the result. New fencing really opened up the space and pavers for a new patio created usable space for grilling and relaxing. We can't wait for spring to see all the new plants begin to fill in and bloom. Another thing we really appreciated was the work was begun when promised and finished within the time frame estimated. Actually, they completed the work a week faster than promised because Shawn had allowed for some rain delay that we didn't need.

Ravenscourt did an excellent job on our front and back landscaping. Shawn and Laurin were very creative in incorporating our needs into our yard and were flexible as we made changes. They were also very fair and worked with us when we met small unplanned hiccups along the way. They did a great job transforming our sad muddy backyard into a relaxing courtyard! We had a terrific experience working with Laurin and Shawn on our landscaping. The results exceeded our expectations. I moved into my new house in June 2015 and was faced with an empty back garden which was full of weeds that had morphed into a pseudo lawn. I researched landscaping companies and came across Ravenscourt on Houzz. I loved their approach to design and gardening and I felt that the lengthy questionnaire gave me an insight to what I really wanted. Laurin and Shawn worked on a design that I instantly fell in love with. After a few tweaks to the budget, I agreed on the final design. Work started after Thanksgiving 2015 and was completed February 2016. Shawn communicated with me throughout the project and there were no surprises or problems encountered. I love my new outdoor space and am getting many compliments!!

I approached Laurin and Shawn with the challenge of turning a small strip of grass on the side of my urban town home into a outdoor extension of my home. I collected images and examples of the type of look I wanted to achieve and they magically translated it into a working plan that included a built in bench, new hardscape, low maintenance plants and irrigation. We then sat down to make small adjustments and select plants. I had many questions and suggestions all of which were met with respect and patience. I was immensely pleased with the outcome. A unused space has become a welcome spot to sit and relax in.

This is a great team from design to finish, and it's been a pleasure working with them. We had a weird, L-shaped back yard, and were looking for a low-maintenance yard with plants that would offer us privacy (neighbors' houses came right up to our yard) and a nice area to sit and relax. After seeing our space and getting an understanding of our needs (and budget), Laurin came up with a design that was beautiful and practical (we still can't believe how great it looks). Then Shawn and his crew got to work. They worked tirelessly 5 days a week (minus heavy rain days) and got the job done on schedule. They put in cement path blocks, an irrigation system, and a pergola. The crew is also very professional, which is a definite plus. They arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up at the end of each day. You can't go wrong with this team.

Fantastic remodel of our patio! Lauren was able to quickly discern what our design needs were and offer a design that was perfect. The design included new brickwork, a fountain, decorative screens, lighting and irrigation as well as plants and a tree. I liked that the plants that we offered were not the same old things that I have seen for years. Communcation and working with Shawn was easy. Highly recommend.

Shawn and Laurin did an amazing job, and that's an understatement! I'm a pretty hard person to impress so that is saying a lot. I met with several different landscapers and designers before deciding on Ravenscourt. Some either stopped communicating with me (probably because my project was too little in terms of revenue for them) or totally missed the mark on my vision. When I first decided on a backyard project, I had originally budgeted for $5,000 and Shawn and Laurin still met with me. Shawn's crew was very respectful and always left the space clean at the end of the day. Shawn kept me informed every step along the way. There were a few minor hiccups but Shawn will go above and beyond to make the client happy and in love with their outdoor space. Before this project, my backyard was a nightmare and very stressful to be in. They listened to me but still offered opinions and ideas. Laurin is an amazing designer. She hit the mark with the very first plan she showed me. The final result was better than what I imagined. I'll be sad whenever I have to leave this house but I already told them to expect a call for my next project!

My wife and I were very pleased with the results achieved by Ravenscourt. Shawn, Laurin and their crew did a great job transforming our yard from a messy building site into a beautiful and well considered garden. Very helpful during the design phase, listening to our ideas and thoughtfully interpreting them into sensible use of space and planting decisions. Very pleased with the hardscaping too - a brick ribbon driveway and brick-clad raised bed came out looking great, and suitably "soft edged" as we'd hoped for, such that the overall look ties together really well. Easy to communicate with, quick to respond to our (often basic!) questions and obviously caring about their projects and customers. Highly recommended.

Ravenscourt landscaped our backyard around our new pool. They added two sitting areas with gravel and pavers, screen fence to hide pool equipment and plants. They where very easy to work with during the entire process. The design was very original and made the best use of our yard. We love swimming in our pool and enjoying the new plants and sitting areas. Everything looks amazing!!!

I want my home and yard to be a sanctuary as our work is hectic.When we look out into the yard, we wanted order and serenity. I had a vision of installing a labyrinth as a meditation garden. Laurin and Shawn of Ravenscourt Landscaping "got it" and came back with a beautiful design. They resolved drainage and irrigation challenges as well as installing an amazing transformation of our sad back yard. While I use it for reflection and calming, my grandchildren (ages 9 and 7) got creative with some sidewalk chalk and repurposed the labyrinth path into a giant board game. All we needed was a spinner from another game and we were good to go. I would highly recommend them --but be patient! They have a long lead time due to their popularity.

We wanted to transform our backyard into a fun and usable space; Ravenscourt delivered. Before we met, we completed a detailed questionnaire on their website, which helped define our goals and style. Shawn and Lauren came to our house in early spring, to review our 'wish list' and problem areas of our yard. First and most importantly we wanted a patio, with a pergola. Large enough for a picnic table, nothing fussy but maybe something causal like that at an ice house. Next I wished for a small Louisiana inspired courtyard to remind me of home. We needed extra storage because we only have a small one car garage that is full of bikes, so maybe a bike shed. And I needed something easy to maintain that would be wildlife friendly like a little woodland park.. We also needed to look at our yard and irrigation. Lauren looked over our space and listened to me ramble about my dream yard. Shawn measured everything. Our 2nd meeting was at their home/office and the plans were revealed. Lauren had listened and her beautiful design captured all my wishes. Shawn reviewed the entire plant list, materials and costs. The proposal was professional, completely detailed with photos and names of each plant and flower, photos of previous projects that were similar, and broken up in the following components - Yard Landscaping - Pergola - Bike Shed - Flagstone Patio - Side Yard Screen (for courtyard) - Raised Bed - Irrigation. This way we could select which project for now and for later. We had to wait til August for our project to begin and we had them do ALL of the projects. We have exactly what was detailed in the proposal and are very pleased. I love the flagstone path around my yard, it is like walking in a park. The raised bed has irrigation and tons of sun so my herbs should be very happy. I am seeing new birds and butterflies and hummingbirds that I hadn't seen before. Lauren and Shawn make the perfect team. Their enthusiasm is enchanting, it is wonderful to hear them describe the flora and fauna on the project, one day I will be able to tell you the names of all 28 new plants and flowers that were added to my yard. After moving to the Heights in 2010, I found and hired Ravenscourt to redo our backyard. I believe they were fairly new at that stage, but did a fantastic job. They created a beautiful design using as much of the pre-existing infrastructure as possible (trees, decking, etc.). And after the project, they have been very generous giving me tips and ideas for future projects. Lastly, they taught and inspired me to become an organic gardener myself, which may have been the most important part of all.

We are so happy with our yard!!! Laurin & Shawn have transformed an ugly mess with bad drainage into an oasis that we can enjoy. As we are novices with very little gardening experience they really captured what we wanted to achieve in the space. Their guidance and understanding has been invaluable.

Ravenscourt Landscaping installed "Austin Xeriscape" style landscaping and an irrigation system for us. Shawn and Laurin created the design and installed the landscaping and irrigation system based on our requirements. It has turned out better than we expected. As is the case with most projects, there were a few problems/issues, but all of the problems/issues have been corrected. Most of the problems/issues were noted and addressed by Ravenscourt before we even had time notify Ravenscourt that we had problems/issues. The only issue to note is that because Ravenscourt does such good work, they are in high demand, and it took several weeks to get our job worked into their schedule. We wanted things done right, not in a hurry, so this was not an problem for us. I have worked with many contractors in the past and I have had good experiences and bad experiences . The folks at Ravenscourt are as good as it gets IMHO.

We found Laurin and Shawn from Ravenscourt Landscaping after reading their great reviews here on Houzz. My fiancé and I recently moved into our first home less than a year ago and are planning a wedding at our home this Fall. We hired them to create a landscape design for us that we could implement ourselves to make the yard look great for the wedding and also for long-term benefits as well! The two of them were happy to help us out and did a great job of listening to what we were envisioning as well as helping us narrow our focus some! They came up with a great plan that included both changes we could make right away and later on down the road. This worked out great as we could split up the task into several projects and tackle just what we had the time and money to afford to do. Also I should mention that the design was WAY more than just a design. It was extremely inclusive and came with lots of information, tips, and resources tucked into a folder for us along with our plan and all the plants they recommended as well as information about them. Additionally countless emails were exchanged between us over any questions we had. We were so impressed with all the great information they were able to provide us even just simple answers to questions like "How often should we fertilize our yard?" "What should we fertilize with" "How can we fight pests organically?" and "How can we improve the drainage of our lawn without digging trenches?" etc...we asked them so many questions and they were always more than happy to answer them! We are still making changes to the yard but it is already looking a hundred times better than it was just a few short months ago! We highly recommend these guys they are fantastic!

We are lounging on our beautiful brick patio with a glass of wine, surrounded by lush plants, cooled by a gentle breeze from the fan on the cedar pergola, and relaxed by the sound of water flowing in the fountain. All of this is realized by the design and execution of the ideas by Ravenscourt Landscaping. It was a pleasure to work with Laurin and Shawn, as well as their entire crew. Laurin's creative design of our small and tired space is ingenious. Having gardened in the Northeast, she introduced us to new plants that thrive in the heat and shade, and that have interest in each season. We appreciate the thought and placement of each plant, and the fulfillment of what we wanted in the compact garden but were unable to envision it ourselves. Shawn was so patient with any questions, always with a good reason for the way the construction was planned. He carefully described each step of the process. Whenever we casually mentioned an idea, he had his workers implement it without a reminder. The quality of the pergola and brickwork is outstanding. More important to us, Shawn treats his workers fairly and with respect. They seem to be a happy bunch. It never seemed anyone was rushed to finish this project to quickly go to the next project. From the start, we had confidence that Ravenscourt would make our garden beautiful. Many neighbors and casual walkers confirm the beauty and workmanship of the space. We truly appreciate quality work that includes care for the environment. Ravenscourt installed a drip irrigation system and advised us about eco-friendly products that would help our garden thrive. We couldn't be happier with Laurin and Shawn, from the first phone call to the last brick laid.

I searched the internet including Houzz to find a Houston landscape designer that we could see several examples of their projects. We also wanted a smaller company and someone who would at least come out to look at our space and present a plan based on ideas we gave them. Ravenscourt did that and more. Shawn and Lauren are great to work with and came up with a perfect design based on a few discussions and ideas we gave them with just a few pictures as examples. Lauren hit the design nail on the head. We absolutely love the space. It is our urban oasis. It is also important to note that their crews are always there when Shawn says they will be, on time and getting right to work. If there is a reschedule or something comes up, he lets you know before you are expecting them to be there...there was never a "no-show" occurrence. Having hired many different companies for various home projects, I can't say enough how nice that was... They are a professional, talented, local, trustworthy and reliable company. And super nice people to boot...both the owners and their crew.

When we first contacted Ravenscourt, we had just moved into our 1940’s cottage. Our tiny house sat right in the middle of a 7500 square foot lot – dead grass, poor drainage and ugly flowerbeds were everywhere. At the time, we just needed some guidance and someone to hold my hand and tell me it was going to be okay. Laurin and Shawn’s initial interview was set-up just right, they asked all of the right questions; what did we like, what did we need, and how much time did we want to spend in the yard. Then, they did something else, they listened. Laurin and Shawn listened and allowed us to describe our vision for the yard, they listened as we explained how we saw ourselves living and playing outdoors. Laurin created a beautiful, high-functioning and low maintenance design just for us – which Shawn executed to a tee; he was so hands-on and so detail oriented. From the moment I met Laurin and Shawn, and to the day they finished the project, I knew we were in excellent hands!

When we called Ravenscourt, all we knew was we wanted a zen(ish) yard with a contemporary feel to complement our yard sculpture/deck and a replacement for a fallen tree. We got so much more! The questionnaire Ravenscourt has you complete prior to starting a project was incredibly useful. It forced us to really examine our needs and our level of commitment to both the project and ongoing maintenance of the yard. Shawn and Laurin (of Ravenscourt) were excellent listeners and gave us exactly what we hoped for. They put in put in drip irrigation for both the front and back yards, new flower beds in the back yard, native plants, rock beds as a base for large planters in the front, as well as a swooping yin-yang style bed for the jasmine grass I always wanted - and that new tree!

We came to Ravenscourt with a specific vision for our backyard. They took it, ran with it, and the final product was more perfect than we could have imagined! They were extremely professional and easy to work with. When the overall project quote came in a little high, they helped us modify the plan in a way that fit our budget and helped us get the most bang for our buck. We also decided to make a few tweaks to the plan mid-project as we saw it come together and they were happy to modify where they could to make our vision come together. They are extremely creative and knowledgeable about both design and functionality (e.g. irrigation, plant type, etc) and just a pleasure to work with. We have since asked them to do some followup work to expand the project. We would definitely recommend them to anyone for anyone looking to do a makeover of their outdoor space.

We selected Ravenscourt because Laurin and Shawn "listened" to what we wanted and provided a design, supported with execution and attention to detail, that exceeded our expectations. Excellent work. Wanted native plants with Fung Shui elements to be considered the plan and execution was brilliant. The issues Ravenscourt solved were 1. drainage issue 2 erosion control with native plants, limestone walkway, lights up shaded entry.

My husband and I recently hired Ravenscourt to do some landscaping in our front and back yard. They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We had some ideas going into the project and Laurin & Shawn were great about letting us know what would work and what wouldn't. They were able to take my ideas and input and improve on them. They planted beds in the front yard and back yard and put in pretty stone borders. They also installed planter bowls in the front. They added a zone to our sprinkler system and converted the existing sprinkler to a drip irrigation system for the beds. They also put in very attractive fences to hide our AC units and garbage can. The end results are absolutely beautiful and just what we were hoping for! We will definitely call Ravenscourt for any future landscaping needs!

We consulted with 3 landscaping companies and decided that Ravenscourt not only had the expertise to complete the task, they had such enthusiasm and understanding for our vision! Our backyard was constantly muddy with no grass and poor drainage and therefore, never utilized. Ravenscourt paved it in a modern, yet minimal design with clean lines of both plants and stones. Now we use it all the time and it's LOVELY to look admire from inside. It has also encouraged me to be more involved in gardening and planting. It's been 2 years and I still absolutely love it!

We used Ravenscourt to completely redesign and install landscaping, hardscape and irrigation in both our front and back yards. We were apprehensive about the whole process, never having used professional landscapers before, but working with Laurin and Shawn was a delight. Laurin listened to how we use our yard, looked at pictures of what we like, and asked a lot of questions. Her design truly captured what we hoped for, but hadn't been able to visualize fully on our own. She took our ideas and both expanded and refined them. We absolutely love "the feel" of our yard. We have several different spots where we can sit and relax or entertain guests. Somehow, in our not so large yard which already housed a play structure and above ground pool, Laurin was able to still give us space to play. More importantly, she turned our kid-only yard into a place that adults want to be too! Shawn is very knowledgable and easy to work with. He and his crew were always on time, professional, and precise. They did an excellent job with the landscape and sprinkler installation. In addittion, their craftsmanship on the hard scape (both a paver patio and a gravel patio) and carpentry work (an amazing bench and a trellis) was stellar. We've had quite a few months now to enjoy our yard. Laurin and Shawn have both been by several times to check up on things, replace plants, retrain us on using the sprinkler system and just check in. It is obvious they take pride in their work and that customer satisfaction is important to them. We love our yard and we definitely recommend Ravenscourt. Laurin and Shawn are awesome!

The flowerbed that came with our house (Cypress, TX, built in 2004) in front of out porch was mostly clay with no topsoil and just potting soil around the plants put in by the builder, covered with mulch. This was causing the plants to suffer because of drainage problems. We hired Ravenscourt Landscaping to dig out a couple feet of clay and replace it with proper soil and top it with new mulch. We also took this opportunity to put in different plants. Lauren, one of the owners of Ravenscourt Landscaping, listened to what we wanted, including better soil, drainage and hearty plants that wouldn't need a lot of maintenance. She presented us with her plan which was well thought out. For example, placing rosemary close to the walkway, so the scent would welcome guests.In the plan, she include plants I mentioned liking, but wasn't specifically asking for them. It was nice because we weren't expecting them to be in her plan. Our flowerbed is artistically designed. It's beautiful to look at, adds curb appeal, and smells fantastic -- not only from the plants she used, but also the organic soil and mulch. We like that they use organic products. The fewer the chemicals in our lives the better, and our flowerbed has never looked so good. When they installed it they left the area clean afterwards, and we liked that they emailed care instructions. Shawn and Lauren, owners, inspected the work afterwards and came back to replace a plant that didn't look healthy. We love that they were there from beginning to end, and always when we see them they ask how our plants are. We've had are new plants for a few months now and I love how the bed is filling in.

Ravenscourt Landscaping installed a beautiful garden in the front of my Heights bungalow. Laurin Lindsey’s design works with the architecture of the house in ways that I would never have expected. The repeated curved patterns in the house trim, porch, and walkway reappears in the curved beds of shrubs, bushes, and annuals. The design includes a continuation of the curved pattern in the pots that stand on the pedestals at either end of my brick porch. These pots contain little ivies, wispy plants, and annuals. Everything is supported by a brand new irrigation system that enabled the garden to make it through the incredibly hot days of the summer of 2011. Shawn Michael took time to explain the irrigation system to me and made certain that it allowed for future growth. Once I saw my front garden, I began to plan for a larger garden to be installed in the back yard in the spring of 2012. This time, Laurin designed with the cottage garden style in mind. She worked with established plants, such as the roses, ferns, and holly trees, but added additional annuals and perennials. Also, they installed a fountain in the center of my patio and surrounded it with river rocks and lilies. The look is lovely. However, my dogs happily began to dig in this delightful new spot. Laurin and Shawn came up with a solution. Some of the beds are now surrounded by waist high, wrought iron fences that look as if they are straight out of an English garden. I could not be happier with my new gardens. Working with Ravenscourt Landscaping was a delight. I now use their maintenance service and have them come regularly to weed, feed, mulch, and plant new beds with each season. I feel that I got more than my money’s worth. And I smile every time I look at my garden.

Do you remember Mrs. Haversham's home from Great Expectations? That's kind of the look we had going when Ravenscourt met with us. Overgrown, ugly bushes, construction debris from our recent remodel - our yards, both front and back, were a mess. A TOTAL MESS. Each landscaper we met with told us they had their work cut out for them. Laurin and Shawn didn't even flinch. They were not only impressively prepared with ideas and sketches when we initially met, they were also very reassuring about our chances to have more curb appeal and a serene backyard to relax in.
