We had an EXCELLENT experience working with Lamont Bros with our kitchen remodel. They walked us through the process, gave us many options for designs to consider and the work was flawless. I highly recommend them and plan to use them again for future renovations.

We hired Lamont Bros to replace some fascia boards (aka barge boards) on a 100+ year old home. It turned out to be a rather complicated project, as it required custom fabricating a 2x24" board that was ~28' long. Once the board was made came the logistics of raising it into place 3 stories above the ground without any access for a crane or mechanical lifts. Lamont Bros did a great job with handling it. They treated our house with care and the crew was very thorough in cleanup daily. This unblocked our exterior makeover that we had been working on for over a year.

Wonderful experience! Everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. These folks were not cheap, but they do deliver good value (you get what you pay for). They provided several initial designs (addition + remodel, kitchen remodel only, kitchen plus utility area remodel), then once we selected one they were very helpful with all of the design choices. Once the job started, the crew were amazing! Hard-working and friendly, they really did a wonderful job trying to minimize the inevitable disruptions of a major remodel (while I was working from home). The job finished several months ago, and we could not be more satisfied.

The Lamont Brothers design build team remodeled our kitchen, laundry room, pantry and mudroom entryway and delivered "walk on water" results that completely transformed our home. Not a day goes by where my wife does not comment on how much she loves her new kitchen and every guest who sees it for the first time just stands there in amazement for a moment before commenting on beautiful and functional it is. The Lamont design team took in all of our needed changes and colors and textures and materials and worked out a design that was better than we ever hoped or could have come up with on our own. The Lamont build team was a pleasure to have in out home for the duration of the project and they solved every problem that always comes up in remodeling and were empowered to make decisions right there on the spot and their tools and experience and workmanship far exceeded expectations. They came in exactly on budget and on time and the results are far better than we expected and the experience from start to finish was very enjoyable. We love our new kitchen and sometimes just sit in there and look at it! After 20 years in our home we are now excited for the next 20 and my wife and family could not be more pleased about the transformation.

The Lamont team did a great job with our master bathroom remodel. The project involved a complete tear down and replacement of the shower, bath, sinks, cabinetry, toilet and flooring. Cory talked us through what the project would look like at the very beginning and then stayed connected with us through all the steps. Emily created a 3D design that captured the upgrades we wanted and gave us confidence to move into the build stage. Zeb and Travis did most of the construction and were very detailed oriented. We would recommend Lamont for those looking for a professional remodel team.

Lamont guided us through our home remodel project from start to finish, and were able to handle our ADA requirements without issue. Jinny and Emily were amazing at helping us in the design phase, by first understanding our requirements and design aesthetic, creating multiple concepts to choose from, and then going through multiple iterations to the final design. There are so many decisions to be made during a remodel, and they were able to narrow down the choices ahead of us and only present those that matched our taste and budget. As for construction, there were a few hiccups, but Lamont took care of everything without hesitation. You can always save money by managing the entire project and contractors yourself, but if you want to save yourself the headache and stress, then Lamont is the way to go.

Lamont Bros. is a very professional, caring, and adept firm. They did a great job of understanding our needs, wants, and budget and were able to recommend a design and products that supported all of these items. The crew that was assigned to do the work were skilled and willing to listen when we discussed the project, design, and what our expectations were. They went the extra mile to ensure we were satisfied and happy with the craftmanship and solutions that were put in place. I would recommend and use Lamont Bros. again.

I hired Lamont Bros to convert a storage closet to a Finnish dry sauna. Everything about their process was professional and high quality, that's what you're paying for. We loved working with Lamont Bros on our full basement remodel. They really listened to our wants/needs and created a space that gives us exactly what we dreamed of. We moved through design into construction seamlessly. Their cost estimates were right on budget. There were no major surprises. The pandemic descended right in the middle of construction and their excellent communication really helped keep everything on track - that's the key to any successful project. Even when they delivered some not-so-great news about electrical wire, the PM was calm and confident that they could resolve the issue without more disruption. And, they did! Working with Joseph and his team was smooth and resulted in a great finished project. We had Lamont Bros. renovate our main bathroom from a walk-in shower stall with fiberglass walls and boring tiled countertop to a modern up to date bathroom. The design process was great and helped us quickly hone in what we wanted to see. The construction crew was great and mindful of our schedule, the fact that I work at home, and we have multiple dogs. Punch list items were dealt with in a timely manner and we love the finished product.

On time. On budget. Great result. It doesn't get any better. We had to address some dry rot issues on a Juliet balcony. Our initial contact was with Matt Sipes, who remained our primary contact through job completion. The actual work was done by Zack. Every single person we dealt with at Lamont Bros was professional yet personable. Our job was completed about a week ahead of the estimated timeline and the cost was right in line with the original estimate. Not only are we happy with the result, but it's great have a quality company like Lamont Bros based right here in West Linn.

I would recommend them The person who came out to bid the job, Joseph Patrick, was by far the clearest in grasping what we wanted and then laying out the possibilities on his computer right there on our kitchen table on his first visit. His presentation was clear, filled with enough detail, good suggestions, potential ways to work with our budget and our wants than any other contractor we talked with. His computer presentation was impressive! I especially thought the attention to detail and thoroughness showed by their two designers, Basharia and Emily, was worth the communication challenge we experienced with them. Emily measured everything in our kitchen down to a sixteenth or thirty-second of an inch! Basharia kept looking and looking through countertop samples until she found one I liked! She also guided us in how to keep spending down on extras. She made the best, most practical pitch to my husband about the value of adding quartz countertops throughout instead of using laminate and I will be forever grateful to her for that! Our project head, David Davenport (Davy) was excellent! He and his crew of two men, Tucker and Ryan, showed up on time, stayed on task, demonstrated good humor and excellent construction skills. They took steps to minimize dirt and dust, though that was near impossible with a complete remodel. Once when ceiling texture spraying got out of control and sprayed all over the living room, Davy stayed overtime, personally looking for and cleaning up every spot he could find. That’s dedication! I am a fan of having a vertically integrated company doing the remodel. That means they had all the workers in-house (except for the plumber and electrician, whom they scheduled on an as needed basis). When they uncovered our structural beam issue, they called in upper level guys from the company and had city a inspector on site very quickly. As a result, we lost just a week on adding the ceiling beam. My challenge with them is they seem to be missing a person whose job it is to bridge the communication/customer relations gap once the project gets started. Other than the daily project leader, I felt there was no one to get ahold of if or when things weren’t going well or when we felt confused about what was coming next. Lamont uses an app (BuilderTrend) which we were supposed use to post messages, requests or questions and where daily progress reports from the job supervisor were posted. Our project construction head did post his weekly construction reports with photos. However when I posted messages or questions on the app, they went unanswered until I either called or emailed the company directly. They would be very apologetic, swear it would never happen again, but then the pattern would repeat. Perhaps the person who instituted use of BuilderTrend is no longer with the company and no one else likes it but I felt frustrated when I tried to communicate with anyone but the workers physically present in my house. Overall I thought Lamont did the best job of respecting our budget and talking through our concerns for our job. Our construction leader posted his work reports with photos on BuilderTrend frequently. Their designers kept looking through product samples until they found countertop, flooring, and cabinet finishes that pleased us. Their construction workers were skilled, polite and respectful, and showed up on time ready to work each day they were supposed to be there. On a 10 point scale, I would give them a 7.

The Lamont Bros. team was wonderful, highly professional, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. Angie and Julie worked closely with me to get the rather unusual design I wanted. I especially want to note David and Rebecca for their intricate tile setting and all round excellent work. Project manager Jesse was on top of every detail, often going beyond his job to solve problems. He, like all the Lamont Bros. team, was always gracious, kind and enthusiastic about my project. We chose Lamont Brothers to renovate our kitchen and bathrooms after interviewing other firms, and are very happy with the decision. We felt great confidence with BaSharia Middleton's skills to take our ideas and bring them to reality within the budget we had negotiated. BaSharia found some unusual, beautiful backsplash tiles that greatly enhanced the appearance of the rooms, helped us rethink some of our ideas that (in retrospect) would not have looked good, and monitored every step of the design as it evolved from broad outlines, through the "consider these alternatives" stage, to the final design. "JT" is an absolute master of tile work. Cory Pena juggled various phases of the work to keep us very close to the original schedule - snowstorms in Alaska and one subcontractor's hiccup notwithstanding! (And Lamont has strengthened its procedures to eliminate that possible error in future projects.) I should note that no project is perfect, and no contractor is perfect. There are simply too many unknowables before work begins despite everybody's best efforts. What matters is how the crew deals with those situations when they arise: a drain pipe where you didn't expect it, a mid-project homeowner design change, or the like. We were confident that everything would work out well, and it did. The crew took excellent care of our home as well. Our friends and neighbors have praised the project. We would certainly hire Lamont Brothers again, and have referred them to friends planning their own renovations.

Thanks to Joseph and his crew from the Lamont Bros., we are enjoying a beautifully-remodeled kitchen - all with more space, a functional island w/ 2nd sink & gorgeous tile work.

After a tree fell on our house in the beginning of winter Lamont Bros. handled the job very professionally and efficient. Even in the middle of a snow storm they managed to get the job done on time. As well as right the first time.

Joseph is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and helped me do some structural analysis on my house. Everyone I've worked with at Lamont Bros. is awesome! They also helped me set up my gas line/HVAC system flawlessly. I will definitely use these guys again!

Lamont Bros. repaired the damage that was done when a huge fir tree came through the roof of our home. They showed up on time and made sure I was happy every step of the way. They also handled the insurance end of things. Thank you Lamont Bros. for your quality work!!

The Lamont team of designers and installation specialists were professional in their advice, timely and responsive, and creative when necessary. They demolished two bathrooms efficiently and cleanly, with no complaints from neighbors in condo association. They installed all new bathroom fixtures, cabinets, counters, and tile to very high and exacting standards, solving problems of spacing, timing, and coordination among subs to keep everything on track. Joseph Tauscher was project manager and I have only the highest praise for his management skills and expertise on the job, meeting deadlines and staying on budget.

My overall experience with Lamont Bros was very good. I enjoyed working with their design team. They had very good ideas on how to achieve an updated kitchen and redo my living and dining room. The project cost was a little over budget, but the outcome was what I had hoped for. My onsite supervisor was very good and he tried to keep the project on time. Some items had to be reordered which resulted in a later finish date.

We hired Lamont to do a 3 phased update to our property, including 1) updating our current home (built 1971), 2) converting an existing workshop to an entertainment room and a wine room and adding a laundry room/3rd bathroom, and 3) building out an outdoor kitchen area. We found the team worked very closely with us from the beginning of the planning stage (we were living in NZ at the time and were coordinating via e-mail and Sat AM calls) through the completion of each phase. We found the team very knowledgeable and very detailed orientated. We were very satisfied with the outcome and highly recommend the Lamont team for your projects.

The design team worked patiently with us through multiple iterations until we had first the plan we wanted, then the plan we could afford. The construction crew was conscientious about updating us regularly on plans and progress and addressing issues as they arose. The site supervisor for most of the project was exceptional in cheerfully resolving problems and paying close attention to our concerns. This would be a 5-star review except for how the project ended. To run a couple of weeks over is no big deal. We expected and planned for it. But at the end, things were rushed, and some finish details were not up to the high standard set at the outset, before the crew was urgently needed at the next job. All in all, we'd hire Lamont Bros. again and recommend them to others. They communicate well, respect their clients, and work to make them happy.

Lamont replaced two loft picture windows that face east. It was a small job that they handled professionally. LaMont pro's examined the two picture windows carefully (even removed some trim) to get precise measurements. As a result, they were able to specify new windows that fit correctly. The two-man installation crew was very efficient, professional, and installed the new windows quickly. We love the view - it brightens the loft and gives us back Mt. Hood!

Lamont Bros. helped us with a major kitchen and downstairs remodel. They did an excellent job during the design and pre-construction phase, helping us to stay within our budget, while using the best quality cabinets and other finishes. Their team started on time and finished very close to the planned completion date, despite having an issue during construction. They handled this issue with integrity and professionalism and we couldn't be more happy with the finished product. We have been enjoying our new living space for a full year now and love it just as much as the day it was completed!

Everyone at Lamont is great to work with. We have hired them first for a kitchen remodel, and then later to renovate our basement. Lamont does a nice job. If there is anything that is not completed satisfactorily, they fix it!

Although our project was a relatively small budget project, none the less, completing the project on budget was a highlight of the job Lamont Bros did for us. Our project was the conversion of a 50+ year old garage to a legal ADU. Other contractors told us it couldn't be done due to the inherent problems of meeting current building codes. Lamont however successfully navigated the permit process with the city and obtained the necessary permits. Several people at Lamont involved at the various stages of the project were helpful in answering questions and offering helpful advice and guidance. That was appreciated. At all times, everybody acted and communicated in a professional and courteous manner, without exception. Our project has just now been completed so only time will tell if any unknown issues arise. But if they do Lamont has given me no reason to doubt that they will be there to fix whatever might be amiss. I have confidence that they will stand behind their work.

Lamont Brothers did a major 2 story addition/remodel job for us last summer, and we could not be happier with the work that they did. We had a second floor room added, one other second floor room expanded and a closet added, a roughed in bathroom added, a main floor bedroom expanded and the main floor layout completely changed, including a full bathroom remodel. Opening up an older house is always difficult, and complicating the work was the fact that we lived in the house for most of the construction (only around 400 sq ft of the house was not being touched by the project)- which meant that most of the construction was happening with my wife and 6 young children around the construction site. Not only did the workers keep my family safe, the guys actually took time to explain the work to my incredibly curious kids and on a few occasions let them take part in some of the activities (all safe, age appropriate, and with our consent, of course). By the end of the project, the workers felt like family members. Major remodels are always full of issues and we encountered our fair share of them, but the company always worked hard to provide a resolution that we felt was fair, or more often than not actually in our favor. We look forward to having them back to complete additional projects (kitchen and bathroom remodels) in the future. We've got nothing but good words about these guys.

We had Lamont Bros. remodel our 1970-something kitchen. What a beautiful piece of work they did. In preparing for the project Joseph walked us through each step of the way from choosing cupboards to hardware as well as layout/design of the kitchen. Once the project got started they ran into a big WOW- a bearing wall not where it should have been. The project was immediately stopped - but 3 days later a new plan was in place- which included tearing down the entire ceiling and installing new joists. If we had been handling this ourselves or chosen the wrong company, this could have been a real mess. It was so great to hear them say, "no problem - we'll take care of it" and know that's exactly what they would do. Worth every penny. The project only ran 2 weeks longer than the original projection - not surprising considering the 'Wow'. 8 weeks total. Our project manager was Aaron - amazingly talented and professional. Thank you Lamont Bros. for a job well done!

The project(s): 1) Master bathroom: complete remodel down to the studs. The goal was to update all finishes, open up the look of the shower while keeping /coordinating with the age of the house, 2) 2nd bathroom: tile the floor and install a new toilet, 3) 3rd and 4th bathrooms: install new toilets, and 4) Patch and re-brocade ceiling located below the master bathroom shower. (Water damage had occurred in the past.) The outcome: We are thrilled, and the work is above our expectations! We're extremely happy with the quality and the processes Lamont Bros. had in place to complete our goals. All workers were friendly, polite, communicted effectively, were here on time, and conveyed the status of the job at all times. The project supervisor and crew had supplies delivered on time, followed the design to the detail, asked questions when decisions were needed, addressed my questions immediately, and used a thoughtful, conscientious approach in their work, even to the point of being artistic. There was a minor delay in the completion due to a small area that needed the tile redone, but otherwise the deadlines were met. We are thrilled with the work and would definitely hire this company again for other remodel jobs.

Lamont completed a full kitchen remodel for us last fall. We purchased a home on a rehab loan and they did a great job of dealing with all of the paperwork headaches that went along with that type of loan. I had a pretty clear idea about what I wanted and they did a good job of executing the vision. Once they got started the work was completed on time and on budget - what more can you ask? Communication was timely and thorough. I would definitely use them again for a large project.

Lamont Bros came up with a great design for remodeling the kitchen, rear entryway as well as reorienting the scary, steep basement staircase in our 1923 "Craftsman Cottage" in North Portland. The transformative result completely changed the feel and flow of our home. They opened up the kitchen to our dining and living room and matched the kitchen finishes not only to our desired specifications but kept with the style of our home. At the beginning of the design process, we spent a lot of time negotiating the price and details of the project. With all of the things we wanted, the price was quite a bit higher than our budget. However, Joseph and David suggested other options to keep our project within our original budget. Once the project started, we were very pleased with the level of professionalism all of the workers demonstrated. Everyone was polite, respectful and skilled in their work. When issues arose during the process, Lamont Bros were attentive and rectified them to our satisfaction. We can't overstate what a pleasure it was to work with Lamont and their crew; honestly we miss having them around. If you are looking for quality work at a reasonable price and want a group of guys you can trust, hire the Lamont Bros. We love our beautiful new kitchen, staircase and rear entry / mud room area!

The Lamont Bros. took on two major projects at our home: remodeling our master bathroom and replacing our very awkward spiral staircase with a set of safe, functional straight stairs. Both projects turned out beautifully and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We hired the Lamont Brothers for a total kitchen remodel and we were not disappointed. From the design process to the end product, our experience could not have been any better. They were always on time, respectful, hard workers, cleaned up the work space every day so we could get around easily, they took the time to answer any questions we had, and they kept within the budget. Before the remodel began, they gave us a detailed day by day calendar of when and what they would be doing on the remodel and then they e-mailed us at the beginning of each week if anything had changed and what to expect. The Lamont Brothers recently completed a total renovation of our 25 year old kitchen. The renovation included replacing linoleum flooring with tile, installing quartz counter tops, all new cabinets, new sink and all new appliances. Mr. Joseph Patrick suggested two different architectural styles supported with detailed 3d design blueprints. Our preferred design involved repositioning the oven and refrigerator necessitating considerable electrical/plumbing modifications. The custom cabinet maker they work with was extremely conscientious about functional layout and accommodating our appliance selections. Floor tile, quartz countertops and tile back splash were meticulously installed and all combined for a showcase presentation. The whole constructions process was very well orchestrated from tear down to completed remodel. Some minor delays on delivery of items and completion of stages were experienced but they were outside of our contractors control and not uncommon for a renovation of this dimension. The Project Manager, Mr. David Patrick diligently kept us informed of any extenuating circumstances adversely affecting the project timeline. All Lamont Brothers employees and sub-contractors were polite and courteous to us and respectful of our house. The renovation cost was at the top end of our budget but the completed project assured us that it was well worth the investment and added significant value to our home. In 2013 my wife and I purchased a house that had undergone extensive foundation reinforcement following a hill slump on the rear of the property. While we did not interact with the Lamont Brothers contractors directly--the work was completed in its entirety half a year or so prior to the purchase, and so I cannot speak for anything that happened during that period--we did have it inspected by both a general inspector and a foundation repair specialist, and both parties assured me that the reinforcement was of a high quality. Additionally, I reached out to the Lamont Brothers more recently with some questions regarding damage to interior of the house, which had been hidden by wallpaper for over a year. The responses I received were courteous and helpful--more than I expected, even, since these questions weren't even in regard to a possible job. They were simply being genuinely helpful, and for that I am highly appreciative. While I have yet to personally hire the Lamont Brothers for a contracting job, based on these previous experiences, I absolutely intend to do so.

Joseph and David Patrick have been working at home construction and remodeling since they were boys. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience to go with it. They are courteous, diligent, motivated and ethical. 10/10, would recommend to anyone. You will enjoy everything about them from the design to the implementation to the finished result. They are great people and hard workers.
