About Us

Kenwood Homes was founded by Chris and David Parkes to build high quality, energy efficient homes in Ottawa. David Parkes was the founder and President of Tamarack Homes, one of Ottawa's most distinguished and successful house building companies, and has been the recipient of numerous design awards over its extensive history. Kenwood Homes is producing Energy Star rated homes under the design guidance of Barry Hobin Architects and Buchan Lawton Parent Consulting Engineers to ensure the highest standards of design and construction. Trade contractors have been selected to deliver reliable quality consistent with our corporate goals. These contractors have demonstrated many years of quality workmanship with Tamarack and Kenwood Homes.

I hired Kenwood Homes to build a modern semi. I have lived in the house for over 2 years and we love it as much today as the first day we moved in. There have been no problems with the house so far. During the building process Chris was available at all times to talk about any issues we had. I would recommend highly Kenwood Homes to anyone looking to hire a builder for their project.

We were so pleased to work with Chris Parkes on our home Renovation. We did an extensive Reno on a 1950's home and are very happy with the final product. Chris was there every step of the way helping us through the process. We really appreciated his attention to detail, keeping the budget on target and finishing the job in a timely manner.

We hired Kenwood to build our new home; an in-fill project in McKellar Park. Kenwood built an exceptionally strong and efficient home for us. The quality and workmanship are still evident even after four years being in our home. Kenwood also added great advice on a few design items. They bluntly told us that a column in the design would be a mistake and a steel beam across the house would be a better option. We went with their recommendation and they were right. I would be confident recommending Kenwood and would use them again in the future.

Our family purchased one of the earlier homes built by Kenwood Homes in move-in ready condition. One of the benefits from buying a home from a local builder is overall responsiveness to all issues raised directly to Chris and registered on Tarion. We would consider another Kenwood home in the future.

We had nothing but a positive experience with Kenwood Homes. All issues that arose - and there are likely to be *some* issues - were addressed in a timely manner and to our complete satisfaction. If we were building a home today, I'd want Kenwood Homes to be the builder. Great attention to detail!
