We have been working with Kate for about 5 months now on our gut renovation and expansion in Accord, NY and couldn’t be more satisfied. She has guided us through a multitude of construction and design choices alleviating stress and enabling us to enjoy this inherently challenging process. Kate Cummings turned our house into a home! I moved into my husband's house and it just didn't feel like it was my home until we hired Kate. She worked with our budget and came up with creative ways to reuse what we had, buy some new furniture and paint everything, inside and out to transform our space. We met with Kate and told her what styles we liked and the feel we were looking for and from there let her work her magic. As we worked together, we began to trust her more and more and toward the middle of our project we told her she didn't need to ask for our approval since she always made the perfect choice. It turned out so beautiful! We couldn't be happier. Our house is serene, cozy and stylish. We couldn't have done it without Kate and truthfully would have had to move if we hadn't hired her.

Kate was a lifesaver. We own a pied-à-terre in NYC. We needed help, direction and oversight on minor renovations, repairs, painting and decorating. Kate was hands-on. Without her assistance and attention to detail, the project would not have been completed in a timely manner nor to our specifications. She guided us on color choices and at all times took our own personal taste into consideration when making design suggestions. She responded to calls and emails quickly (even once while she was on vacation in Europe!). She is friendly, accessible and easy to work with. I highly recommend her.

My husband and I hired Kate to help redesign our apartment, which had some basic good pieces but never looked "finished" or reflective of who we are. Kate took the time to understand our personalities and design feel we wanted and was able to use a lot of our existing pieces, integrating them with new furniture and decor to transform our apartment. As we were new to hiring a designer, she explained the process and budget in detail, and worked within our budget, providing options at different price points. She was also super patient when we had trouble deciding or changing our minds (as new home designing is bound to do). We started just doing certain areas of the apartment, but have been so happy with the results and her work, we now want her to do the rest! I'm proud to have people visit our apartment now.

I am so glad I found Kate and hired her to help us get our new apartment in shape to move in. She made the whole process not intimidating, and she is such a pleasure to work with and has a really great eye for design. We were working on a super tight timeframe and Kate went above and beyond to be available and move things along quickly in our renovations. She helped us pick out the materials to renovate our kitchen, selected all our lighting for the whole place and the new pieces of furniture we needed, and picked out the paint colors for the whole apartment. She was always enthusiastic and, equally as important, really fun to work with. I am really picky about buying only non-toxic furniture and I also had some ideas I really wanted to incorporate into our design, and Kate was totally receptive, enthusiastic, and creative about all of that, which I really appreciated. My husband and I absolutely love our finished product and have gotten many compliments on it. She totally transformed our space and is a wonderful person to work with and I highly recommend her!

Kate helped us pull together our house in short order. My husband and I had been furnishing the house slowly and had a good base level of design but just had difficulty agreeing on final pieces and the finishing touches. Kate proved to be the perfect person to get us moving to make decisions and in the end both my husband and were very, very happy with the result. Kate is organized, reliable, a good listener, practical, adept at tailoring design around the client's direction and taste, and very easy to work with. Additionally, in our case, she also knows how to please two people with differing opinions and create consensus. Numerous friends have commented on our house decor and asked for Kate's contact information. I always recommend Kate's services whole-heartedly - she's just a pleasure and the outcome speaks for itself!

Freestyle Restyle, Kate specifically, was a pleasure to work with! She has an incredible eye for design, and is incredibly flexible. I've used Kate on multiple high-profile properties in the Tri-state market, and Kate was able to pull together a vision/design that was better than we ever could have imagined. She has a wealth of knowledge, experience, design sense, and incredible resources to procure materials. I will ABSOLUTELY be using Kate/Freestyle Restyle on ALL my future projects!

Kate is a joy to work with! I was recently undertaking a renovation/addition and had some rooms that just needed fine tuning and others that needed more attention. I hardly consider myself a designer, but I do enjoy snooping around for things and I am admittedly very particular about things in my environment I have to look at. Kate couldn't have been more patient and accommodating. In addition to providing wonderful ideas herself, Kate welcomed my ideas, was thoughtful about considering them, and I always felt her assessment of & response to them was genuine. We moved at a pace that was comfortable for me and I never felt pressured into doing too much. If anything, Kate changed things in the existing rooms little by little so we could accurately assess if some of the current decor worked better with just those items switched out. Kate is cheerful and kind and has a fantastic eye. I am extremely happy with everything she has helped me with and would use her again without hesitation. Kate is a terrific designer and a wonderful person.

Kate Cummings of Freestyle Restyle is above and beyond talented. My living room needed help and Kate performed magic. Friends who have seen the change say "I would never leave this room!" It's just so beautiful-the room is bright and glowing. We also did the kitchen and it's like no other kitchen I've ever seen. Kate's sense of style is to be admired and revered, working with her is a delight and I have recommended her to friends and family. I am lucky to know Kate Cummings and she will always be my decorator.

I used Kate to help us in a huge renovation we were doing. We needed help with paint colors, tiles, flooring, layout for for an entire house. We had so many decisions to make about so many things and Kate made it feel easy. We showed her pictures of what we liked, she saw our existing furniture/style and helped us narrow everything down. In particular, the help she provided with paint colors was invaluable. She gave us charts that broke down each room by wall, trim, ceiling and gave us options. She knows her Benjamin Moore colors. She was professional but so friendly and easy to work with. She was always available by phone, email...made several trips with me to tile stores, plumbing places, etc. It was actually a lot of fun. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat.

There are some things we think of as luxuries, not neccesities so we put them off and decide that maybe we'll do it one day. Hiring a decorator or designer usually falls in that category. We think "Oh, I can do it myself, what do I need a professional for." As a woman raised in the south, I know first hand that every southern gal thinks she's a decorator and I was no different. However, I learned quickly that there actually is an art and a science to it and professionals really do have en eye and experience that can actually save you money. Spending the money to have Kate restyle my living room with the pieces I already had saved me money in the long run bc her professional eye was able to steer me clear of the mistakes I was about to make. For instance, the media console I was about to order that would have been too big for the room. Hiring Kate paid for itself in the money I would have wasted having to ship the media console back. Little things that I never would have thought of, she was able to arrange and bring order to the room. When she left, I couldn't help but appreciate how much more spacious the room felt. Its amazing how much your space and environment affects your mood. The clutter free room lifted my spirits and the order and aesthetic appeal of the room gives it a feel of a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city. What I love about freestyle restyle is that they work with what you have. Its amazing how arranging a room can totally change the space. This isn't a service where you have to buy drapes and order wallpaper, this is a service that will come into your home and work with what you have....bringing order and an aesthetic appeal to your space. people pay alot of money to go to the beach or the mountains to stare at a beautiful setting and recharge their battery. Why shouldn't your home provide you with that same feeling of tranquility that you get by spending time in a beautiful setting? I love that I can come home to place that allows me to recharge my battery with its order and design.There are some services that you think of as a luxury, but are actually worth every penny when you bite the bullet and do it. Freestyle Restyle is one of those services.

Over the last several years I have purchased, remodeled, decorated, and sold mutliple apartments in Manhattan (Gramercy Park, Flatiron, and Upper West Side). Though this journey Kate has not only been a guiding light, but she has opened my eyes to the importance of the overall design of living space from renovation to decoration.
