Sloan Scott Custom Cabinetry

We wanted to update our 25-year-old kitchen, as well as raise a sunken living room floor, and replace the carpeted rooms with hardwood—staining the entire first floor a new color. We couldn’t imagine going through this project with anyone else. The kitchen went from stained cabinetry, a peninsula, and laminate countertops to beautiful white cabinetry, an island, and quartz countertops. We have quality custom cabinets, a fabulous kitchen, and a newly “expanded” first floor with continuous hardwood throughout and heightened sight lines. While the cabinets are their bread-and-butter, the Hoovers acted as project manager over all the various tradesmen. This was a huge deciding factor in choosing Karen and Wayne because it meant that everyone was here on-time, nearly every day for two months (during a global pandemic!) to get our first floor renovation completed in a timely fashion. Any home renovation requires hundreds of decisions to be made. As engineers, we analyze things more than the average person, but the Hoovers were patient in answering all our questions, never made us feel rushed, respected our opinions or choices that differed from theirs. We consider ourselves detail-oriented (just ask our friends!), but the Hoovers took this to a whole new level, which shows in the final product. Thanks to the Hoovers, we have an even more beautiful home than we ever imagined. And we made new friends!

Karen and Wayne Hoover designed and built a beautiful kitchen for us, within budget and generally within the time framework. we are very happy with the whole project which beautifully coordinated our very English country style with all of the expectations of a modern and up to date kitchen. They are first rate and aim to please and did.

This is my Second home that I have had Sloan Scott design for us. My first home was 14 years old and not one thing was outdated. I had one offer and they wanted everything in it:) We downsized. Sloan Scott designed from ground up. I thought the first home design was going to be hard to beat as far as cabinets and design....but my second home has a bigger WOW factor!! I highly recommend Karen and Wayne for any of your design needs. In the end they become true friends....building is very stressful...but not with them on board.

I recently remodeled my kitchen and guest bathroom and installed a master bathroom and worked with Karen and Wayne Hoover with Sloan Scott on the project. Karen designed each room based on my thoughts and desires and her keen eye. She took out walls between the kitchen and dining room. I was nervous about this bold move, but trusted Karen. Without her help and vision, my kitchen wouldn’t look as fabulous as it does. The cabinets from Sloan Scott and top quality. They have a variety of styles and colors from which to select. In the kitchen, we decided on a gray cabinet with an onyx wash – just beautiful. Selecting cabinet styles, color, hardware, tile and counter tops for all the rooms was easy with Karen’s assistance. Karen and Wayne were very patient with my numerous questions and concerns. The kitchen and bathrooms turned out beautifully and I love living in my new spaces!! I would highly recommend working with the Hoovers. They’re a great team!

We have used Sloan Scott Cabinetry and Karen Hoover Interiors for 3 different projects which included 2 renovations and 1 completely new home. The home is our dream home at 7,990 SF and $1,200,000 in total cost. Karen provided all interior design services on these projects as well as ALL new construction interior decisions, as well as additional services such as floorplan review, exterior elevation review and material selection, and landscaping review. We highly recommend Sloan Scott cabinetry and Karen Hoover Interiors to anyone who is considering a significant residential renovation or new home. Regarding the cabinetry, during the time of these projects spanning 5 years we had many opportunities to see and sample custom cabinetry and to consult with custom cabinet makers and reps of the "best" and biggest custom cabinet companies around. We have been unable to find any cabinetry that is superior to Sloan Scott. The look, feel, installation, and robust solid construction, as well as designs (compared to the others that we saw or were offered for our projects) are unmatched. Regarding Karen Hoover's design services, she is simply awesome. After 3 projects, we trust Karen to make any decision on our behalf. The designs are great, the style is great, and the problem solving and responsiveness are great. In some cases, Karen was the breathe of fresh air that made these projects fun and made them move forward. We could have never made it through the new construction without her. The list of decisions is endless and Karen was there to make them all. We LOVE the look and style of our new home, and our new cabinets. We highly recommend Karen and Sloan Scott Cabinetry!!

Sloan Scott Cabinetry , Karen Hoover, was the interior designer and project manager for the construction of our 8000 sq ft optometric practice. She worked tirelessly with the architects and construction company to ensure that the design would completely meet our needs. She was the contact person through all phases of building and acted as a liaison between our company and the contractor. She provided on site supervision to keep the project cost and time efficient. While supervising during the construction phase, Karen was also busy choosing paint colors, cabinets, hardware, furniture, granite, flooring, doors, trim and lighting. She researched every item to provide us with the very best product for our money and needs. The final weeks brought all of Karen's skills to fruition. The last week she oversaw the landscaping instillation, delivery of furniture and cabinets, placed accessories, hung artwork and completed displays. In summary, I could not imagine completing our project without her vision, skills and leadership. We guarantee that she will be one of the best assets of your future projects. On a last note, I so thoroughly enjoyed working with Karen that we have since hired her to remodel our kitchen and basement. You will not be disappointed.

Our experience was terrific! The Hoover Team had wonderful ideas and designs! They turned our twenty-five year old outdated kitchen into a comfortable, attractive and welcoming part of our home. Workmanship and completed project were FAR above our expectations! It was a positive experience with a great finished product! She remodeled our kitchen which included removing a wall, replacing the flooring, building window seats, rerouting HVAC and electric, installing gas stove top, and adding new cabinets and appliances. She also remodeled three bathrooms. Karen suggested designs that were perfect for us and she paid very close attention to all details. Her team did a remarkable job and in a short time. At the end of each workday the contractors cleaned up and hauled away any debris. All estimates were kept unless changes were discussed in advance, including any additional costs. There were no surprises. All subcontractors were very respectful and friendly. We would definitely hire them again.

Sloan Scott cabinets are in almost every room of my house where there is a need for cabinetry. The cabinets are top notch quality - we have never had an issue with them and they look fantastic.
