J & J Concepts remodeled our whole main floor including all new flooring, new kitchen, new exterior front door with side lights, new office, furniture and more. They did a fantastic job with workmanship, and Interior Design. It was a pleasure working with both Jerry and Patti. I definitely recommend.

I had always wanted to build a house and when I saw how J&J build I knew I could work with them. They don't just build cookie cutter houses, they add great design touches that make their houses unique. The process was great in that they guided us through every step. We got to the end of the project and were only $1500 over budget. This included the usual changes and adds that always happen during construction. Building with J&J was a great experience.

We built with J&J Concepts and had a similar experience to many other reviewers. Terrible subs, incompetent and/or shady bookkeeping, months late to finish, problems with subs not getting paid months after you paid for their work (email from a sub documents it), short subs without consent of homeowner, lots of excuses for disorganization, refuse to pay for property damage, blocked emails when you object to something, poor/no communication, no actual project management (plan on *being* the proj mgr), and extremely low time commitment (days/weeks of no activity). Worse, they refused to apply their mgmt % to any credits until after our lawyer weighed in. Count on zero warranty after they get their final check, spending hours correcting their sworn statements (dozens of mistakes, fudging on their mgmt fee), hiring lawyers, and having to fight to get lien waivers. Biggest warning: Watch out for lump sum management fees that keep them comfortable with their snail's pace and leave you in a spot where you've drastically overpaid them well ahead of the finish date. They admitted in writing that they used our yet-to-be-earned lump sum payments to pay other client accounts.

Built with J&J in 2018. Did not have a great experience. Came in over budget, we received fines from Grand Rapids, had issues with drywall, they skipped insulation requests, received front door we did not want, was supposed to be in June 1 and did not get in until October. Patti is amazing in design but from design to execution they have major problems. Had other angry J&J homeowners stop over during the process and not one sub said a good thing about them. Should have been a great experience building our dream home but unfortunately it turned into a nightmare.

After touring our local parade of homes for several years, my wife and I chose J & J Concepts, to nuild our new home. The quality of their work, and their strong ethics are the reason we chose them. We were included in every step, they are wonderful people to work with. If we were to ever build another home they would be our choice. Jerry and Patti are wonderful caring people, and we hope to stay in touch as friends.

We loved working with Jerry and Patti on the design and construction of new house 4 years ago. Quality was always a priority with them and they made the process so much easier every step of the way. They also managed to fit in every dream element we wanted in a home and still maintain a budget. Jerry managed the contractors and building process with timely and detailed control. Patti was amazing as a designer making the entire selection process a pleasant experience instead of what is often stressful. We are still in love with our home and feel like it’s our dream house. Even today as we look at our house, there are times where we see the extra design elements built in and appreciate the quality workmanship evident in those elements.

Jerry and Patti Nelson helped me build my home when I was going through a difficult time in my life. Patti was a great help in keeping me on track with choosing items for the house on time. Both Jerry and Patti were able to foresee potential problems and were helpful when changes were made. If I were to build a home again, I would choose J and J Concepts.
