My wife and I previously built two homes, one here in Kentucky and one in Florida. We wanted to down size in Kentucky and recently built a 3000 square foot home. Simply put, they are the best builders we could have ever hoped for. It is almost as if they were building the house for themselves. Lisa is tireless and will help you shop till you drop. She is great at helping those that need it, pick designs, colors, furniture, blinds, just whatever you need. Todd is in his element on his Bobcat grading and landscaping as if it were his own. Whether you want to spend $200,000 or 1 million you could not find a better builder. As good as they are at building, they are even better people. I have have never had such a positive experience building. Very refreshing.

Exceptionally personable builders who are generous with their time and knowledge, and their houses show a high level of attention to detail in the work performed by their subcontractors.

I hired Southern Comfort Homes to remodel my kitchen. This involved removing existing appliances, cabinets and counter, floor and a door and ceiling light/fan; installing new ceiling light/fan and recessed lights, door and window (evena doggie door!), floor, cabinets and counter, and appliances, backsplash tile, and painting. Lisa, the owner, was very helpful in recommending materials but did not try to influence me which I greatly appreciated (I've had other contractors try to tell me how I should design spaces and how to decorate). She provided options with costs so that I could decide what I wanted and and how much I was willing to spend. Lisa took time to go with me to select cabinets, counter materials, and fixtures. She set a schedule and kept to that schedule. She stayed within budget. Lisa and all the workers were professional and a pleasure to work with. I would, and plan to, hire Southern Comfort Homes to do future remodeling work.

We met Lisa while looking at lots in a subdivision. She gave us a tour of the house she was currently building. The first thing that stood out to us was the depth of information she was imparting; and she was willing to impart this whether we signed a contract with her or not. Lisa is truly customer service oriented. Lisa and Todd spent as much time with us as necessary to make us feel comfortable with the decisions we made. One of the things that impressed me about Lisa, is that she believes in working with the best materials. These materials are a bit more expensive but worth it in the long run. Lucky for us Lisa has a pretty good eye for design. She was helpful in picking out paint colors, tile colors and fixtures. We completely left the landscaping choices to her, as we know nothing about gardening. She did a super job. Now everyone is happy when things are going well. The question is, what happens when things do not go as well. We found that if we saw a problem, nine times out of ten Lisa was aware and it actually wasn't a problem, but if it was, it was taken care of. Her crews do fine work, and because of the attention to detail there was nothing she had to come back and fix after the closing. Would we recommend Southern Comfort Homes of Louisville for your next remodel, or custome home? You betcha we would!!

Southern Comfort Homes (Lisa and Todd Heckel) built a home for us. They were on site most days and even did some of the work themselves. Their subs did quality work as well. Todd and Lisa spent time with us one on one helping to choose many details of the home like tile, wood flooring, carpeting, brick, shingles, windows & doors, etc. Lisa spent countless hours helping me make choices.
