We are a boutique firm in Northern New England with a mission to create beautiful buildings with excellent energy performance and wonderfully livable environments for people. We are optimists and problem solvers, inventors, and sculptors who use the ideals of art and the pragmatics of building science together to make heirloom architecture. We went from an aged, ranch-style camp to a four-bedroom, two bath, two level camp/cottage. With marriages and grand children we had grown from a family of four to a family of ten and were in need of the extra space and additional bath. Chris accomplished the design for this expansion while adhering to strict shore land restrictions. He worked closely with town officials to present the necessary drawings and obtained the necessary permits. Chris also helped us find a builder who could accomplish all that was needed for our extended family to begin enjoying the summer of 2017 at the lake even with a few unexpected roadblocks along the way. We had never built anything before, so Chris was a great guide helping us along the path to a successful outcome which everyone is enjoying.

Chris was a pleasure to work with. His skill, attention to detail and vision were only surpassed by his patience. He has a good relationship with many of the local builders and was able to get us meetings when we could not. Chris does a great job of listening to his clients and has a wealth of knowledge to offer to any project.

Rich construction

Being a builder for the past 35 years we have built custom homes from Alaska to Maine. We have had an opportunity to work with many Architects. After acquiring a beautiful lot overlooking part of my grandfathers old dairy farm I knew the design had to be special. The choice for Chris Delano was easy, having worked with Chris on several other projects we knew he would be perfect for designing our home. Chris was able to take our thoughts and ideas and create the home of our dreams! It is absolutely amazing how standing on our bare lot, he could envision the finished home, making it the perfect fit for the natural surroundings incorporating the views, the sun and the topography to accomplish this goal. He was there every step of the way bringing this vision to life. We can't thank him enough! We love our new home! It is more than we could of ever imagined and we are so grateful to Chris for his design.

Chris has helped me create two homes for myself. Both times it was a very rewarding. I have worked with him with clients and they're always amazed with how much more their project reflects their taste. He makes the whole process a pleasure.

Chris was a wonderful architect to work with on our home renovation. We were a little overwhelmed with all the rules and regulations associated with turning our older lakeside cottage into a year round home but Chris helped us navigate everything with ease. Chris was a great collaborator who brought a clear vision to the project with his innovative designs. He was very patient and respectful of our input and opinions and able to steer us to in the right direction when we were unsure of what we wanted. He took great care with the entire process and provided wonderful input at every stage. He was onsite during the project and a ready resource to our contractor for any changes or modifications that needed to occur as well as to keep things on track. After five years in our "new" home, we wouldn't change anything. It is warm and inviting and everything we hoped it would be and Chris was a big part of making it that way.

Review for Chris Delano - Art of Space Chris did a wonderful job designing our new lake house so that views of the lake can be seen from our main living areas including the master bedroom. We were pleased with his creative ideas which included the use of upper windows that allow extra light to filter in throughout the day. He not only was the architect but was involved in the management of the project. Chris was excellent to work with and he and the general contractor worked very well together. Chris is a gifted architect and a man of integrity.

Commented: light and airy!Hi, It was one of the color options for the Martha Stewart line of cabinets being sold through Home Depot at the time- which is about 6 years ago now. The color was called Rain Water. Good luck.
