Picked & Painted

I was looking for an affordable, cute dresser for my nursery. I didn't know if I was having a boy or a girl, so I wanted to keep it neutral. I'm not a big fan of cookie cutter furniture that everyone has in their home and I was looking for something different. I reached out to Helen and not only did she find the perfect piece for me on Craigslist, but she picked it up, sanded/painted it and made an absolutely beautiful piece for me! Everyone that sees the dresser is floored that I was able to get the piece for such a great price. She's a gem and I hope to use her services again in the future. Carolyn

I was looking for a very specific piece of furniture for my living room and Helen was so helpful in the process!! My husband was out of town when I started the process and I have 2 small children so when I found a Craigslist ad I was interested in, Helen offered to go look at it for me. She then called and gave me the details and got a great deal for me from the seller! Helen took it home with her and, as I had no idea what color I wanted, we sent pictures back and forth until we decided on yellow. She then listened to what I had in mind and custom made the perfect color for me. She also sent me multiple choices for the handles that were all great!! Helen delivered the buffet and I couldn't have been more pleased with the final product! I would recommend Helen to anyone looking for an awesome piece of custom furniture and can't wait to have her do another piece for me!!

When I first contacted Helen, I was looking for a very specific size of furniture to fit a space in my living room. Helen spent several weeks helping me search and encouraged me to not settle, but keep looking for the perfect piece. I could not be happier with the buffet table that Helen painted for me. I told her in general what color I would like and she sent me paint samples to ensure it was a perfect match. She is extremely professional and goes the extra mile (literally -- she drove to Illinois to pick up my furniture and then delivered it to my house as well when it was finished) to make sure her clients are happy. Now I can't wait to find pieces for my bedroom so we can work on more projects. I highly recommend Helen -- her quality of work, great communication and high level of professionalism make decorating projects fun.

Helen painted an old dresser for me and my new home. I described to her the color I wanted and she presented me with just that. She was meticulous in preparing the piece, painting, staining and delivering it. Helen was an excellent communicator. All I have to do now if find the next place that I would like to put another piece that Helen restores!!!! Helen was delightful to work with!

Helen of Picked & Painted is extremely talented, highly knowledgable in the area of furniture refinishing and home decor, and incredibly sweet, helpful, and kind. I did a lot of searching before finding Picked & Painted and I could not be happier with the custom furniture that I am using for my baby's nursery...it's like she got inside of my head and found out exactly what style I wanted for the furniture, even though I did a terrible job of trying to explain it (finally I just said "you have full control, I completely trust you!" and stopped trying to explain...and what I ended up with was amazing furniture that is perfect in every way!). She took so much care and put so much detail and thought into the products she completed for me. I could not be happier. What's even better is that her prices are phenomenal! Very awesome.
