The company is owned by three owners. Daniel Rhedin, President, has been in the wood flooring industry since 1979. James Kwasniewski, Vice President, has been in the wood flooring industry since 1985. Daniel Morrison, Secretary/Treasurer, has been in the wood flooring industry since 1989. All three owners have earned the craftsman degree from the National Wood Flooring Association. The company originated with three owners and one employee. We now operate multiple two men crews that specialize in certain areas of the wood flooring process. Our growth and training allows us to handle both large and small-scale projects while maintaining personalized service and quality craftsmanship. We are insured and registered as a contractor in the state of Nebraska and Iowa. Our goal is to provide a full-service hardwood flooring company that provides quality craftsmanship and personal service. The entire Heartland Team was kind, experienced, prompt and thorough. They gave me advice that not only added to the beauty of my floors, they added practicality too! So very happy. My 17 year old floor is brand new!!!

I had Heartland Wood Floors put in my house when we built it 18 years ago. During that time they have replaced my floors because of water damage due to builder errors, lightly sanded and polished. So this time I want natural floors and a new room to be hard wood floors. I never even considered another company. I loved their work in the past and wanted them to do this job. I have 2 more rooms to go and I am having them come back. Their people are really nice and professional. Both Dan’s are great to work with. I highly recommend HWF.

We needed our oak floors sanded and restained, and decided to change our traditional looking oak flooring to a darker color. We are very pleased with the results and the quality of the workmanship. The gentlemen who completed our project were patient with us as it took an additional staining before we were happy with the results. Heartland Wood Floors prides itself on minimal dust residue because of the equipment the company uses, and they were right! Once the project was underway, the management and technicians kept us informed of progress in a timely fashion. I would recommend this company based on our experience.

The crew did a wonderful job of refinishing the floor. Great communication. However, we were disappointed that more wasn’t done to protect against dust accumulation in the house. Dust free sanding is a misnomer. Also, leaving oil spots on the driveway from leaky trucks should be addressed.

Heartland Wood Floors has installed wood floors in the entire downstairs of our house. They were very good at helping us decide on the placement of the floor. Some are at a diagonal and it flows together beautifully. . The stain needed to be redone in one room and they quickly and without any fuss, redid the stain. This was even after I had paid in full! I recommend them. We have done this project in stages and never hesitated to call them back.

If you’re in the market for hardwood flooring, I recommend Heartland. The job took about 2 weeks and the results were exceptional. Be prepared to have your furniture moved or stored elsewhere during the job. Everything was explained by the company before the job started so there were no surprises. 2weeks was a long time but it was worth the inconvenience! Our floors look great!

Heartland tore up old ceramic tile in our powder room and replaced it with oak flooring to match the rest of the existing flooring. The job was done right on time. They cleaned up well after what was a very messy undertaking. The floors match perfectly.

Main Floor refinished

Very Clean (couldn't believe how little dust was created when they sanded) and their knowledge on how to make the floor look the best it can was amazing. We had waves in our floor from previous re-finish work and all of that was fixed and the floors look amazing thanks to Heartland Wood Floors.

After having another company come and they did a horrible job I contacted Heartland floors and had them sand and revarnish my oak floors. They are just beautiful now. Guy came, very pleasant and professional, did a wonderful job and I highly recommend Heartland floors.

Did excellent work in not only adding a new hardwood floor, but also refinishing the current floor after being hidden for thirty years under carpeting. A complete transformation with little or no disruption or dust. Would recommend to anyone who loves hard wood flooring.

Scott’s Painting crew painted the exterior of our home including brick, siding and trim. We went with an off white color that really brightened the house and can’t believe the number of neighbors who stop to offer compliments. The work was done under some severe conditions, extreme heat and a wind and rain storm that left behind lots of fallen trees, etc. Much of the prep work had to be re-done following the storm. Mike and his crew worked incredibly hard in the heat with few breaks to get the job done despite their setbacks. They clean up after completion and we’re responsive to any little touch ups as we did a walk around inspection. As anyone who has ever painted knows, there are always a few spots that need attention. In addition to the great work done by the crew, they were engaging and eager to make us happy!

Three stars because they had to redo their job due to imperfections in the finish that we alerted them about. It was inconvenient, because we had left town so they could get the job done since we couldn't get to the upstairs while the floors were drying. Our home was built in the 50's and already had hardwood floors in a few rooms, but we wanted to continue the hardwood into the kitchen. Heartland refinished our existing floors and put in matching floors in the kitchen to where you can't tell where the old floors ended and the new floors begin. It looks so nice and beautiful and the floors are soft and smooth. We are so happy that we went ahead with this project. Heartland Wood Floors was a great company to work with. From the first phone call we made to them, they were extremely helpful and was able to have someone come to our home that day to look at what we wanted to have done. We also went to their showroom and looked at stain colors more than once, and each time they were very helpful. We found all of the staff to be friendly and professional. Dave was the guy who did the work on our floors, and it wasn't an easy job. We had golden oak floors for 28 years, and to get the gold color out was not an easy task. But, Dave took the time to show us stain colors, did a very thorough job of sanding and even called a Manager out to look at the floor again before applying the stain to be sure the gold color would not bleed through (he knew getting rid of the golden oak floor was our primary goal). He took his time each day ensuring everything was perfect before moving on to the next step. We greatly appreciate his work and everyone at Heartland Wood Floors for their expertise and customer service. We are extremely pleased with our wood floor coloring and would highly recommend Heartland Wood Floors to others!

We have used Heartland Wood Floors for 2 projects in the last 12 months. The first was a refinish of our kitchen, garage entry, main floor bathroom. They did an outstanding job of getting the old floor cleaned up and prepped for the new finish. The took the time to work with us on coming up with the exact custom stain combination we were looking for. We had them come back 6 months later to replace our dining room and front entry with matching wood floors. They were very accommodating in the new install, matching the prior work that was completed. We later determined that we seemed to have a mysterious film on the floor that were completed during the first project. They worked with us to completely remediate that issue and assure that we were 100% satisfied. Very professional staff as well. We fully recommend Heartland Wood Floors for anyone's home project.

We had Heartland re-do our 22 year old oak wood floors and couldn’t be happier with the process. Their staff was very experienced and they knew what to do and they did it right. My floor looks good, workers were prompt, however I have stain all over my mopboards. This will all have to be repainted. Also , when I was given the quote I asked if they moved the furniture as I am not able to move the furniture. I was told "no problem" we move it for you. Well, yes they did move it. When the job was finished I had all this furniture to be moved back and was told "oh, we never move furniture". So... it cost me more money to have it moved back by hiring someone else!

We LOVE our new floors! They did a fantastic job! Owner Jim was amazing with following up with any questions. Tear out was harder than they expected because it was glued down AND we have radiant heated floors, so they ended up having to cut out 3" squares and pop off, then remove the cement/glue. Time consuming, I felt bad for them, but they took their time and did it right! Their workers were very professional and always tidied up and vacuumed before they went home. We installed "saltbox" in entryway, kitchen, 2 dining rooms, a hallway and living room. They have a beautiful showroom. I would definitely recommend Heartland for your wood floors!

Heartland arrived on time to provide an estimate and to recoat my wood floors. They completed the job in a couple hours and my wife and I left for a 2-week vacation. When we returned, we had some questions about a couple things we saw in the floor. Heartland came out to review the floor and answer our questions. The representative determined a second coat was necessary for which they did not charge. They arrived on time and completed the re-coat again in a couple of hours. We left on another vacation and returned to find the floors looked new and could detect no flaws. We paid the remainder of the bill in person. The Heartland employee spent about 15-minutes with us talking about how to care for the floor and provided a cleaning kit for no additional charge. All the people from Heartland were friendly and helpful. I will definitely use them again.

We wanted to remove the carpet from our living and dining rooms so the wood floor was throughout the main (open floor plan) level. Heartland threaded in new wood for us and refinished the entire floor. It looks like it's always been wood! They did an excellent job overall, especially be the fireplace. Seamless!

Not happy with the results. The crew missed a spot, owner came out to review it and sent the crew back out it to re do area. their fix was to add a layer of poly which did not take care of the area. When I talked to owner again he offered to have the crew come out again and re coat area, which didn't fix the problem the first time. I decided to not pursue this option as it was a waste of time for all involved. Between the time of the assesment by the owner and the "re do" I receive an email from the office requesting a prompt payment of the remaining balance.

Heartland just completed installing oak strip flooring in our dining room and refinished our kitchen. Installer was fast and friendly with good tight lay. The sanding and finish was practically dustless. We took measures hanging plastic in anticipation of heavy dust...none and we probably would not have needed to hang any. I was a GC for 24 years using Heartland for almost all hardwood projects and they have alway been 5 star. They do a great job on communicating and when there needs to be a slight change in schedule the call. Hague & Marge Howey

Regarding the overall project, Heartland did not manage our expectations which was a disappointment. Told over multiple occasions to expect work to occur and had to call and follow up as to why what was said had not/did not happen. Overall craftmanship of new floor laid and repaired portion of floor met and exceeded our expectations. The finish of the floors turned out to be unsatisfactory. Grit and micro pieces of saw dust not vacuumed up was left and polyurethaned over into the satin finish. This did not show in direct daylight and was not noticed until after final payment was made. This was also not noticed due to not being on floor until well after it cured as recommended by Heartland. Pictures that illustrate the grit were/are difficult to take where the grit truly shows up in the lighting.

As you noticed; sometimes things show up in the finish right away and other times after the finish has completely dried and in different lighting. I know you were somewhat unhappy with our communication of getting our crews to your home at the time we thought they would be there. Some of that is on us and I'm sorry that occurred. And sometimes when our crews work on multiple jobs within the same day; there can be times when they get delayed. I am happy to say that we are continuing to improve in that area as well. We selected Heartland after a review of their website and showroom. Their knowledge and experience were impressive. We chose to have our maple floor finished on site, so multiple crews were involved in the installation and finishing process. Each crew was professional, friendly, and dedicated to doing a perfect job. The result was a spectacular floor! You can probably find a less expensive installer, but I believe that you get what you pay for with wood floors. I will not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to my friends.

We hired Heartland Wood floors to install custom red oak wood flooring on 1100 sq feet of our main level of our home after having cancelled services with another flooring company. We were leery given the experiences we’d just had, so we decided to find a company that specializes in wood floors and has a great reputation. One of the owners spent an hour with us in our home, talking us through the various options. When the week of scheduled install arrived, the crew were wonderful: prompt every day and respectful of our home. Since tear-out took a bit longer than anticipated, they brought in extra man power the last few days to ensure that installation was completed on time. We elected to have a herringbone pattern with a border placed in our entryway. It’s an eye-catcher and very high quality work! Everyone at Heartland was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them.

We are incredibly pleased with the work done by Heartland Wood Floors who recently refinished our oak floors. It impressive is that one of owners came out to consult with us regarding the project and it is clear that the owners "really know their stuff." The owner spent a great deal of time visiting with us about stains, various types and glossiness of finishes and how to care for the refinished floors. The technicians were just wonderful guys -- very polite, pleasant, reliable, conscientious and hardworking. They communicated so well while doing trials with 2 different stain colors and it was very clear that they really wanted us to be pleased with the outcome. The showroom attendant was very patient while service helping me explore different stain options and communicated with us very frequently via e-mail about the procedures, schedules, billing etc. The showroom is wonderful and it was so helpful to be able to bring in a sample of existing trim for matching. and I have already recommended Heartland Floors to several friends and relatives I am grateful for their professional service.

We liked the work this floor refinisher did for our 1924 wood floors. They did manage to get rid of old, large stains and to fill in larger cracks. We chose this company over another, even though this company's bid was $2,000 over the other, MAINLY because of their system to pick up the wood dust as they went. Was it worth that? It certainly would have been worse without it. There was still a fine wood dust on things. Overall would recommend.

The floors in the new house we bought were rough and really faded. We hired Heartland Wood Floors to refinish the floors. We weren't quite sure what to expect since they were awful. They did an excellent job! The floors are absolutely gorgeous and look completely different. What really impressed me is that floors looked like it had spots on them in some areas. A friend referred me to Heartland Wood Floors, she has used them and was happy. And so am I. I had them refinish about 1,000 s.f. of wood floors in the living room, kitching and dining room. Before, the floors were red oak and badly yellowed and scarred. After, they are smooth with a rich warm ebony stain (used the water pop process). Beautiful! They started and finished the project on time. The crew was friendly. And they delivered the finished project exactally on time, as promised and on budget as estimated.
