I have worked with Gary at Folsom Contracting on a complete overhaul of our home for over a year and a half. He rebuilt my back yard, remodeled our kitchen and both bathrooms. During that time Gary did an outstanding job, both himself and all his subs. Not only does Gary do a great job but all his subs were as professional as he was and in the construction business that can be very difficult to find. I would have no problem recommending Gary to anyone needing construction work. Gary has become a very good friend in the process of working with him on my large construction job.

Gary was hired to complete an interior remodel which included the merging of three rooms into one open concept family room & kitchen. He did a good job managing his subcontractors for the job. He was attentive and addressed issues promptly. He didn't rush us when we had to make material decisions. He and his subcontractors were able to take our ideas for a peninsula and mimic this peninsula that we saw at a store. The peninsula turned out 100% as we requested. It is the highlight of the room now. As our trust for Mr. Folsom grew, so did the scope of his work and we expanded his scope to include many other related items. Gary isn't pushy and we appreciated that. I would recommend Gary Folsom for your remodeling needs.

Gary Folsom was a great contractor! We hired him to renovate a granny suite, including finishing the interior of one room by rerouting electrical and installing wallboard (it had been just studs), refurbishing a half-bath, installing a mini-split heater/air conditioner and a tankless water heater, tiling 850 sq. ft. of floor, and painting the entire interior. Gary was pleasant and easy to talk to and he was totally willing to work within our budget. After talking about what we wanted, he gave us a fair estimate and, because it was over our budget, he was fine with us removing some of the work from the overall plan. His pay-schedule was fair, and we were not “way in front” of the work being done. When budget became an issue for us, he gave us options for how he might proceed. That alone made him rare among contractors. He knew what he was doing, and the workers he brought to the site knew what they were doing. They worked efficiently and finished on time. I was especially pleased that Gary and his crew were excellent at keeping the worksite clean. Things were cleaned up and put away every evening. In general, he was extremely respectful of our “space.” We knew he was on the job, but he did not interfere with our day-to-day routine. Gary was on the job every day. Not only was he checking on his workers, but he was making sure the work was satisfying our needs and desires. I would HIGHLY recommend Folsom General Contracting, INC for any job, large or small. Gary Folsom is a complete professional.

Other contractors wanted me to go and choose items, but Gary of Folsom Contracting, went with me to all the places he knows, trusts, and likes. Gary kept the process moving along. It takes awhile to remodel a master bath, but it would have taken me much longer if he had not kept me involved. (Have you ordered the lights? When do you want to look at flooring and countertops?) Gary quickly determined what would work best for me--a higher countertop (I am relatively tall), a shower door convenient for me to enter and exit, and the type of flooring that would go well with the shower tile but still be safe when it gets wet. Gary always showed up when he said he would--never late. Gary kept me in touch with the process--who would come, what they would do. Gary hired an excellent crew--very polite, hard working (like I couldn't believe), detail oriented, trustworthy, The crew ALWAYS cleaned up their area at the end of the day and hauled away debris. They put plastic down on the floors and furniture. They always consulted me about ideas or changes that came up as they were working. I could not have been happier!

After interviewing many contractors, we hired Gary of Folsom General Contracting to handle our home remodel. He was not the least expensive, but he also wasn't far off. I believe any contractor can cut their quote by utilizing sub-skilled or non specialize labor, but Gary assured us that he didn't operate that way. The level of craftsmanship and the skill of the sub contractors he brought into our home were fantastic. He finished on budget and well within our time frame. My wife's biggest concern was having the work run long or going several days with the home torn apart and nobody there doing work. There was almost never a day where Gary didn't have someone on the job, grinding away to make sure we had our home in order as soon as possible. Luckily we didn't have many setbacks or surprises. The few that did come up were handled quickly. He made sure we were satisfied, and so I'm happy to give Folsom General Contracting an enthusiastic recommendation.
