Weersing Furniture Design

I cannot say enough about Randy Weersing's work. He built a fireplace surround and a stairway banister to match in oak, with padauk details and trim. Randy built a Mission style "settle" couch of the same wood and design. His work is meticulous and elegant. Everything Randy has done for me is more beautiful than I expected and is always on time. A carpenter recently removed the wall between my dining room and living room and built a half-wall in its place. I asked Randy for ideas to make the division of space look good, and he came up with a beautiful design right away. He built oak pillars trimmed in padauk from half-wall to ceiling and completed the wall with an oak shelf along its top.

Randy's work has made our home unique and lovely to live in. Years ago he added a breakfast room to our bungalow which made a tremendous difference in the livability of the kitchen. He has bade wooden valences for all our windows with special wood insert designs - and, finally , we have one of his beautiful Morris chairs.

Randy is a craftsman in the truest sense of the word. He can take your vaguest idea and turn it into a piece that will have you saying "this is exactly what I wanted". Besides being very creative his work has excellent "fit and finish" He has a great knowledge of what materials are available and how to work them. He is a perfectionist and yet very easy to work with.

Randy helped us design a king size bed, then built it for us. He was a great listener to our ideas and wishes, and he provided realistic feedback. He actually built a mini version of our bed, Barbie size, so that we could examine proportions and make design adjustments. Instead of using Wenge wood which we wanted, he suggested a different hardwood and a hand-crafted Wenge stain. That suggestion shaved a lot of money off our total costs. Randy's work is artistic and employs true craftsman techniques, no corners cut. We recommend Randy wholeheartedly!

Randy built a customized piece of furniture for me that I could not find in any retail store that would fit in a space that also had specifications to deal with oulets etc. Randy personally measured the area, and matched the type of furniture and hardware that we had on our existing furniture. When designing the piece at his studio, I was impressed by how he paid attention to detail in regards to his other projects that was much larger than mine, such as making detailed to scale miniture furniture, rooms, to ensure that you knew exactly how it was going to turn out, before making the real piece. That attention to detail told me that I was dealing with a professional that took pride in his work, and there not going to be any surpises on how things were going to turn out. We then matched the stain, and put that piece of furniture in place where it fits perfectly to accomadate outlets and matches the rest of our furniture. I hired Randy Weersing - Weersing Furniture Design - to build a custom cherry wood dining room table and chairs. The process of design and building was well worth it - this table is the centerpiece of my home, and all my guests compliment me on its beauty. Randy is highly knowledgeable and easy to work with. I was interested in non-toxic wood finishes and he was able to educate me so I could decide what I wanted. Randy is a craftsman through and through. I have recently commissioned a bed frame and chest of drawers. I can't wait to see them!

Randy designed, built and installed several pieces of custom fine wood furniture for my new home. Randy is an artist who uses wood as a medium. Beautiful creative work. Has great ideas, is thoughtful, and cost is reasonable for the beautiful product he makes.

We hired Weersing Furniture Design to design and build a custom conference table for our office utilizing old growth fir we found in an old mill pond. Our table is truly a work of art, and the centerpiece of our office. We look forward to working with Weersing Furniture Designs on future projects.
