Underfoot Floors

Highly Responsive and Thorough Kathrine came out to give me a free estimate on my original hardwood floors: living room, hallway, 5 stairs, and 3 bedrooms (700 ft sq). I was about halfway through pulling up the carpet. The previous owners had sprayed the baseboards and got paint all over the wood floors (everywhere!!! they didn't care since they were slapping down carpet). She raised a few concerns about the remaining depth of the old hardwood floors, told me how the paint will have seeped into the crevices and fibers so they'd have to sand down further, etc. I really appreciated how discerning she was about the floors and in informing me what to expect. She was incredibly prompt in getting me an estimate, and overall Underfoot was the fastest to respond to all inquiries and come out! The quote was well detailed so I knew all the moving parts that went into the restore. I ended up opting to go with luxury vinyl tiles (LVT - wood print) because of the condition of the old hardwood (couldn't be sure it'd turn out, especially after I uncovered the last of the original floor that was in even worse condition). I selected the two types of vinyl I'd like, and Kathrine had the new quote to me in less than 2 hours! Product Selected: Coretec Wheldon Oak Underlayment: cork + quiet walk felt in the living room to give the height needed to match the kitchen tile, and just the quiet walk felt for the upstairs. Note: I pulled up all of the carpet, tack strips, and nails & staples, and removed the baseboards (and reinstalled the baseboards after). If you have the time, I recommend doing this manual labor yourself to reduce costs and utilize the craftspeople's skills. Now the best part-- the finished floors are STUNNING! Dalyn, Sam, & Chandler were the crew, and their quality of work was superb. They even went the extra mile and put screws into the old hardwood floor to reduce creaking before laying down the LVT. The seams are flawless and even the tricky strange corners/crevices are laid exactly. Such an awesome company to work with! Update @ 2 Months: Pretty sure these floors prevented my house from burning down. Petsitting a friend's lizard, and the heat lamp adhesive gave way and cooked a hole in the beautiful new floor, but didn't catch fire before I got home. Scheduling a repair now! Fortunately, I have a few extra tiles for the replacement! Still loving my floors.

Underfoot did an amazing job on our dining room, living room floors and stairs!! Ethan was quite the professional! He did a EXCELLENT job: very careful not to ruin our newly painted walls while staining the floors beautifully!! He was on time, hard working and very polite!!! Underfoot Floors did an excellent job refinishing our 15 year-old oak floor. They were on-time, on-budget and easy to work with. About 500 sq. ft. had to be replaced due to wear in high traffic areas. the new wood took the finish differently and had some contraction due to low humidity. Underfoot evaluated the situation, recommended re-finishing the new wood and did it all effectively and without addition charge.
