Fete Nature Architecture

We worked with FNA to update a 2 story apt in Brownstone Brooklyn. Julie was thoughtful and collaborative about programming the space and using environmentally-friendly materials. The main project was opening up the kitchen area to the living room, creating an open, airy layout and we also worked on updating other rooms in the apartment. She had great ideas on how to open up the layout, invite light into dark spaces, and maximize space in challenging areas. The result was a beautiful, modern, clean kitchen which flowed into the living room - it was exactly what we wanted. We would hire her again in a heartbeat.

FNA and its principal architect Julie Moskovitz are wickedly creative, talented, and always put their clients' best interests first. We interviewed 4 architectural firms, including two that would cost more and one that was a "celebrity" architect who had designed museums, but Julie's design proposal blew them out of the water. She was generous and a great listener from the beginning – wiling to share many great ideas and practical suggestions on how we should approach the project before we hired her, seemingly unafraid we would take her ideas and ran with another firm. Julie is patient, honest, and a very hard worker, constantly doing research on alternative ways and new solutions to solve a space or design challenge. Julie's keen eyes, thorough research, and willingness to explore all design angles led to the discovery of 4.5 feet of previously hidden false ceiling space in our loft. Long story short, we built a second floor with that newly discovered space and ended up with a 2-storied home with generous ceiling height, and increased real estate value, all thanks to FNA and Julie's dedication to our project. Julie is a hands-on and diligent project manager. Our project was complex, involved application for a landmark review, but miraculously, Julie and FNA got our project done in time, on budget, staying on top of every detail even while we were living out of state during our gut renovation. We have since recommended FNA to friends and colleagues, who have all been happy with their results. Julie is very resourceful and know many talented trade people in the city who do high quality work at very reasonable prices. Even if you don't have a big budget, she will find ways to make it work for you and the results will always be top-notch and stunning. We worked with FNA from 2010-2015 on multiple projects. I recommend Julie and her firm without hesitation.

The marks of a great architecture firm is knowing when your needs and style are being addressed and interpreted. This is not an easy task, often a client has a vision and can't see the path how to visually construct it. Fete Nature puts in the time and attention with the special gift of interpreting the clients needs with that extra something that takes the vision to the next level. Environmental impact of materials and process are of upmost priority when fulfilling this vision. I Worked them on 3 projects (2 commercial and my residence) each one completely different, yet each one with a distinct thread of the identity woven thru. I can't recommend Fete enough!
