It's been an absolute pleasure to work with Dawson Design Group on many of my custom residential projects. As an architect its extremely helpful to have a talented and responsive interior design professional on a project. Anita Dawson is that design professional. Not only is her design aesthetic so very modern, gorgeous and fun... now this may come as a surprise to some people - not all interior designers do drawings, which is essentially important to a building project. DDG's drawings are the best I've seen in the industry. Thorough and spot on in every respect. DDG understands their clients, and works closely with them to integrate the client's needs and wishes with the architecture and simply good talented design sense. I recommend Anita Dawson and Dawson Design Group to all of my clients and anyone looking for a talented designer.. It just doesn't get any better than DDG.

We hired Anita and her firm to help with the design of our kitchen, living area and master suite remodel. From our first meeting, we felt very comfortable with Anita and Mark and were excited to work with them. They took our basic vision and then exceeded our expectations with their design and details. Anita and Mark are easy and fun to work with, patient, listen well and are very responsive to questions and concerns as they come up. They were very professional and communicated well with contractors and vendors. They did a great job of listening to our thoughts and likes/dislikes - and at the same time encouraged us to consider ideas and options we had not thought of. When we hired Dawson Design Group during a 3600 sq foot custom home building project, we were just looking for help with space planning. The Group is still collaborating with us 3 years later as we finish the project. They had the biggest impact on transforming an architect's drawing into our dream home. Hiring Anita and her team was the best investment we made in this project. They listen. They are amazingly creative. They have a wide range of resources. They have excellent craftsmen to tap. They are sensitive to budgets. They are responsive. Their fees are extremely fair. They are fine people, and a joy to work with. Anita worked well with all the trades involved in the build, and helped resolve issues that had strong advocates on opposite sides. In addition to space planning, Anita and her team helped us choose all interior finishes. They suggested flooring, cabinetry, paint, lighting, tile, kitchen and bath fixtures. They sourced furniture and rugs. They even helped select the exterior stucco color! Anita really listened to us and immediately "got" our style and budget range. When we went to her office, she would have pre-selected flooring, tile, lighting, paint and fabric samples for the rooms we were working on. We were always delighted with her choices, and rarely asked for any substitutions. And we have strong opinions! Anita's creativity lead us to some adventurous choices that we would never have considered alone. The result is a refined modern look that is easy to maintain and fits our lifestyle. Anita's choices throughout the house create pleasing moods in every room. Our guest bath has the happiest tile in the world! We wanted the Master bedroom to reflect the colors of a lavender bush. It was accomplished with gorgeous periwinkle wall paint, complemented by a custom designed dusty green bed frame. Anita framed the fireplace with floor-to-ceiling understated grayish stone with subtle blue veining that pops with the paint. We love it! The team designed custom cabinetry throughout the house. Window coverings were also custom made. Grass cloth wall covering makes for a dramatic powder room, and was expertly applied. One of our biggest challenges was to source tile and paint to coordinate with a granite wall that is the statement piece of the Master bath. The colors in the stone are not in vogue. The team had to hunt far and wide for tile and paint that would not compete for attention, but rather unite the feel of the room. Their work was entirely successful. Visitors' jaws drop when they enter that room. It is stunning. We cannot think of enough superlatives to apply to Dawson Design Group. If you're in need of interior design services, call them TODAY!

i hired Anita and her team for Interior Design and Furniture Procurement. Anita and her team were amazing! They are great communicators, well organized, can adhere to a budget, a pleasure to work with, and fantastic designers. We could not be happier with the outcome of our house's interiors.

Our challenge was to add a second story addition to our home, while fitting in with the previously remodeled existing kitchen and downstairs bedroom and bath. Anita Dawson and her staff were able to bring the project in on time and within budget. They were truly professional from start to finish. We spoke to several of Anita's previous clients before choosing Anita, and all of the positive things they had to say came true for us. She was able to pick a style that matched our tastes and carried it throughout the project. Anita has a way of making very complicated problems seem simple to solve. Our contractor stated that he did not use designers, but after our project, he began to use Dawson Design on his other projects because of the value she adds. I can't say enough positive things about Anita Dawson and her team. They are magnificent. Most importantly, they are down-to-earth and incredibly easy to work with. They aren't pretentious like many designers out there. They are interested in doing good work and good design and can keep to a budget. They are incredibly creative and can think outside of the box, and because they do this well, they don't simply pick the most expensive items but the items that work best within your budget. Their aesthetic isn't froufrou but elegant, fun and interesting. We absolutely loved working with them, and the discounts they can get often offset the cost of their time.

I just started working with Anita Dawson after being very impressed with her work and great design taste. SO far working with her and her group has been great. She is very responsive and has helped me with several issues that have come up unexpectantly. I also love that she charges us by the hour, taking away the conflicts of interest that sometimes come up when you get recommendations that might generate a commission. I live in a 4,500 condo overlooking Balboa Park that, after 18 years, was in need of some serious renovating. I had just lost my husband and my friends cautioned me against starting the project so soon after his death. My contractor introduced me to Anita and I knew from our first meeting that she was someone I’d be comfortable working with. After some bad memories of design work in the past my experience with Anita proved to be the best therapy I could have had. Anita has a background in Art and Drafting and presented me with professional looking color boards that included sketches of the rooms with samples of the materials to be used, They gave me a visual understanding of where we were headed and the concept of my new home was taking shape. There was a camaraderie between Anita and the crew; she has a way of getting the best from every one on the job. The finished project reflects her many talents, I have a very livable , comfortable new home and her ideas for the condo turned it into a showplace.

First off, we just have to say that we absolutely LOVE Anita! She is fabulous and we are so fortunate we got to work with her. We admired the work she did at our friend's house (entire home remodel in La Jolla) and asked her to redo our two bathrooms, office and master bedroom suite. She came up with fun, colorful designs that we loved for these areas and she also recommended touches around the whole house to update it all. Anita's whole team was thoughtful, hardworking and extremely competent and she also got along great with our contractor. We love our "new" house and everything she's done for us!
