About Us

It started with a birthday gift. I have always had a passion and flair for design. If I wasn’t redecorating my own home, I was helping friends do theirs. After ten years working as an attorney, a change in my family life left me more time to pursue my passion. It wasn’t until I received my own business card as a birthday gift from a friend, that I decided to open my own business. I believe in overthrowing the notion that design has to be expensive and out of reach. Your space should reflect who you are and how you live, but not break the bank. I help you create the space you want to live in while making it affordable. Whether it is selecting a new paint color, updating or redesigning your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, or selecting window treatments I can assist you. I work within your budget to create the space that is right for you.

Dawn was very easy to work with. She listened to what we were interested in terms of style and color and came back with great ideas. We liked that she charged by the hour and gave us the opportunity to make the actual furniture purchases directly through local and national retailers. That was important to us as we were able to go to the various stores she suggested and sit, lay and see her recommendations before making our final decisions.

We hired Dawn to help us "update" our living and dining room, kitchen and bathroom. We could not be any more satisfied in how Dawn met with us and determined what the best use of our space would be! Dawn offered suggestions, some very minor to "pull" the project together, along with a conscious effort to pass on her savings as a designer to us. We could not have done this project without her guidance and expertise! Dawn is well worth consulting to ensure your project, whether small or large, is a true success with no regrets!

Dawn helped me make my dream kitchen a reality. She was wonderful to work with throughout the project. She was a great listener and had great recommendations based on what I told her I was envisioning. She would give me a variety of options to choose from, even ones I never would have thought of (for example, a matte black faucet). She was very knowledgeable about different countertop options, tile options, etc. I would definitely use her again for our next project.

I have used Belle Maison a couple of ways: 1. I am a realtor and I have hired Dawn for staging for my customers. 2. I liked Dawn so much that I hired her to help me manage the interior design for my personal home complete gut/remodel job. She was absolutely great to work with! Dawn made a huge intimidating project very easy. She worked well with me and my husband. At times, we had different opinions on how we envisioned our kitchen and the finishes that we wanted. Dawn helped up to find the right finishes that we are both very happy with. In addition, Dawn nudged us gently out of "our box". We have finishes that I never thought of and we love the end result! Dawn has invaluable knowledge of all the finishes and able to communicate to the contractors on how to install the finishes. She had renderings and interior finish options to us in a timely manner at all times.

I have worked with Belle Maison twice; first to provide staging recommendations when selling my home and then to develop a plan for a bathroom remodel. Dawn is extremely professional, very flexible and tremendously organized. She listened to what I said I wanted, helped guide me when I had questions and provided a very comprehensive plan for both my projects. I didn't end up moving forward with the remodel but only because I realized that I was not in a financial position to do so. I would definitely work with Belle Maison in the future and would highly recommend Dawn!

We were very happy with the services provided from the initial layouts she developed and reviewed with us, recommendations on paint and finish options and planning with our contractor, identifying sources for granite, glass, cabinetry and other items, and the general support and good counsel throughout the process. Particularly appreciated the different perspectives and ideas she brought based on her experience and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for similar services.
