Cutting edge Drapery

BUYER BEWARE. I hired Cutting Edge to install custom motorized roller shades in my home in 2016. I caution you from trusting any 5 star reviews because they threatened to withhold my refund if I wrote a bad review. I ended up suing Cutting Edge for their shoddy work and was awarded the full refund including court costs from the judge. Their installer permanently damaged my brand new window frames by drilling over 100 holes during the “fitting phase” and Cutting Edge’s “custom” design solution for my windows was a joke (see photos). The total project was quoted over $18K. I tried tirelessly to get this issue fixed for 11 months. Cutting Edge (Dan, Gavin, and Mike) were rude, unprofessional, and as I mentioned above, tried to bully me. I did my own research and found a proper mounting and bracket solution which I presented to Cutting Edge as a possible cure. They rejected the solution and told me it wouldn’t work. After months of waiting (and with these unsightly improper shades on my windows) I went ahead with another installer and ordered the correct brackets. When I let Cutting Edge know this they snidely remarked that if in fact what we ordered worked they would refund my money and send me a “$500 gift certificate to the restaurant of my choice”. For the record, this solution worked and is beautiful. I have yet to receive said gift certificate.

We can attest that Cutting Edge Drapery is the only company we work with, trust, and would recommend—for any job. We have been working with them since 2010, when the current chief engineer at the Ritz Carlton highly recommended them for the job we were doing in their hotel. We have been working with Cutting Edge ever since. In fact, we just completed work on a $300 million winery facility, and they did all of our window shades. They are also currently helping us on a $14 million dollar private residence. Although they specialize in commercial shading, they do some large scale drapery and soft goods as well. We can say we wouldn’t work with anyone else. Furthermore, even when we have had to provide alternate bids, they still come in the lowest. Finally, they are all great to work with. Dennis is always there to field our calls, and Gavin is brilliant and knows what to recommend and no project is too difficult. They have never let us down, and we only hope they have no plans to retire soon!
