Curated Nest Interiors is a full-service interior design firm specializing in livable luxury design for families. As moms ourselves, we, Erin Coren and Lina Galvao, know that modern family life brings much joy, but comes with lots of “stuff”, busy schedules, and outbursts like “this is why we can’t have nice things!” At Curated Nest, we believe every member of the family can have nice things when designed thoughtfully. The team at Curated Nest is crazy talented and extremely professional. The process was very smooth, from design to installation, and we couldn't love our basement renovation more. Erin and her team created a plan for the space that made sense and took it from dark and miscellaneous, to defined and functional. And of course, beautiful! So many gorgeous details throughout all the different spaces. Plus, Curated Nest completed the project on time (when does that ever happen with construction/design?!). The only call out is that from a price perspective, plan on spending $$$$.

Erin and Lina are truly incredible on every single level, deliver very personalized ideas/creations/solutions to meet each individual family, and are simply wonderful to work with. They designed 4 huge and important areas in my home about a year ago now (and those areas are still my favorite spaces and have survived the various spills and catastrophes of my 3 children and yet the performance fabric really does clean perfectly) and I am looking forward to work with them again on another 3 rooms in my house. They have a keen ability to read my mind and explain what I want when I cannot find the words or even the pictures. They also have been mindful of my budget, upfront about estimated expenses, and their price quotes have been entirely accurate. At the start of the project, they suggested some design changes to my home that I was reticent to proceed with because I thought “oh maybe that is not necessary” but I went with their advice and they were so right and I am so so so glad every single day that I listened to their expertise. They are the real deal and have helped me make my house into a home that we can grow into and utilize, while at the same time enjoying how it looks!

Erin and Lina were great to work with. They helped us figure out what we wanted and then made our vision so much better, guiding and providing input along the way to design a space that fit our style and lifestyle. The new space is the hub of the house ...beautiful clean design, great for entertaining, but also cozy for a regular night in and able to endure the wear and tear of young kids. They did a great job setting expectations about the design process and timing and made the project fun. We can’t wait to work with them on the rest of the house!

The Curated Nest team did a wonderful job designing and furnishing our new house. We moved into a bare bones, dull space and after a thorough design process, they transformed it into our home. Erin and Lina were patient with us as we went through different options for how we wanted to design each room, which wasn't easy because it was our first time furnishing a house. We also had to be patient as there were delays in shipping / installation due to COVID. Once the install started, it was amazing to see it all come together - from the paint/wallpaper, furniture (which we could not have sourced ourselves), window treatments, carpets, and small pieces we never would have thought of (plants, books, containers) that helped bring it to life. They were particularly good at pointing out how the pieces work together in conjunction with the layout of the room. They were extremely professional, warm, had a great team of assistants during the installation, and were easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Erin and Lina are such fun and absolute pros. They really got a feel for our family and the result was a living room and two bedrooms that really reflect our style and way of living. They integrated new pieces with some of our existing furniture to bring our living into this decade, advised on the designs for built-in cabinets, and created spaces for our kids that they are thrilled to inhabit (and I am happy to look at!). I will recommend them to friends and look forward to my next excuse to work with them!

Erin and Lina are two of the kindest and most talented interior designers and I would highly recommend them to anyone. My wife and I have used Erin now on three large projects and every time they were able to key in on our style, wishes, and budget. After working with Erin on a whole house remodel in Jersey City we immediately called her when it came time for our move to the suburbs. She and Lina helped to decorate and furnish out much larger suburban home. They were conscious of our budget, reusing all of our existing furniture, while still achieving exactly the look we were targeting. Shortly after completing that project (but before we had time to write a review) we found out we were expecting twins. We immediately called Erin and Lina to ask them to design a surprise twin nursery for us. Given our past successes and comfort with Erin and Lina we gave them full control over all decision making from wallpaper to lighting to furniture. They were the only ones to see the gender envelope and it wasn’t until after the birth that they revealed the completed room. It was amazing, exceeding all of my wildest expectations. If you’re reading this review stop now, call them, and hire them!

Erin and Lina did a wonderful job converting my nursery from a boy-centric partially done nursery into a cohesive, practical, and stylish room when we found out we were expecting a little girl in addition to our son in a few short months. It was a no brainer to have them come on board for our split basement space, one half was to be a playroom for all the kids' toys, while the other half was an adult-focused space that served multiple purposes - a den, office, and guest room. They were incredibly empathetic and really took the time to understand how we would use the space, and were great listeners in really getting our need to maximize space, storage, and usage of the spaces. They incorporated existing furniture with the design aesthetic and inspiration I had in mind, and were so flexible and understanding when I was being indecisive. Their ability to remain calm and apply their expertise and creativity to the space and truly transformed it into something me and my husband love, and will be able to use for a long time as our family and children's needs grow. They also successfully and gracefully mediated design differences with my husband and I and were able to come up with things that made us both excited. (his reaction to the reveal: "Omg, I freaking love this!") They managed expectations well, remained in budget, on schedule, were very organized, and skillfully achieved the balance of both a beautiful design aesthetic with the practicality of sharing a home with children. They have a good understanding of scale, know when it's worth splurging and where it's not necessary, and most of all, were truly great listeners in bringing to life what we wanted out of a space. They are truly design unicorns, and I could not recommend them enough!

We are thrilled that you appreciate our interior design work and that you liked our emphasis on family-friendly function – it’s what we really focus on before picking out any of the “pretty” things. Although there were lots of those too…ahem, tree mural! We had a great time taking on the challenge of designing a completely multi-functional space that would accommodate play, work, movie night, up to 3 guests, and a “man hangout.”

We hope the kids will enjoy the playroom for years to come, and that it may grow with them through lots of antics, sleepovers, and homework. It was a pleasure working with you and your family, and btw your husband’s reaction is everything!

Working with Curated Nest was a dream. I spoke directly with Lina and let her know what our thoughts were for our sons and their bedrooms. We wanted their individual small space to feel a bit bigger (if possible), have a place for their toys and books, while keeping their personalities in each of their rooms and incorporating their interests, but still making sure they could each “grow” with their room. It was a tall order and they made it happen! They also created a custom closet for my oldest son and it’s incredible. So much storage for clothes, books, and toys. I worked closely with Lina every step of the way and it was a fun, enjoyable process. My family couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

My wife and I hired EMC2 to design our Jersey City apartment. We can not begin to write how wonderful Erin and Tamu were during the design of our apartment. They were incredibly responsive, professional, and talented. They took the time to get to know us, our lifestyle, and our individual tastes in interior design better than we could have ever imagined. They came up with creative architectural ideas and saw them through to completion. The end result was perfect, truly transforming our apartment into a home. Emc2 exceeded my expectations for the designing overhaul needs of my apartment. In addition to providing the finished look/feel that I had envisioned for my apartment, they were a pleasure to work with. I found them to be easily accessible, very responsive and always professional. Issues that arose, all of which were outside of our control (as is inevitable) were handled quickly. Their abundance of charm is only exceeded by their design abilities.

I have worked with Erin Coren on two projects. The first was a small renovation/design job and the second was a 4 story gut renovation of my Brooklyn Brownstone. Erin is a pro. She listens and works hard to get to know the “vibe/style” her clients are trying to achieve. It’s rare to find an interior designer who understands all aspects of design, construction, materials and process. Erin brings all this knowledge and adds passion to her work. She is detailed oriented and a perfectionist, so nothing gets by her. She did a great job managing our contractors. She stopped by regularly to check on the job and was always responsive and patient to any questions I had. Erin also did her best to find great pricing and consulted us before making any buying decision. Not only is Erin a wonderfully creative person who transformed our entire home into a magnificent palace, she is also conscious of the practical side of the living space with its need for closets and day to day living. Most importantly, I trust Erin. I know she will always be honest and do what’s best with our budget. I would hire Erin again and again for her professional demeanor, fantastic sense of style and as a bonus…a great sense of humor, which makes what could be a stressful process fun and rewarding.

I hired Erin to make our new Manhattan apartment a home. She worked within the constraints of decorating a rental apartment. It is amazing how much she opened up the space as it was filling with more furniture. It now looks bigger than when it was empty. I had an idea of a thousand different styles I loved and she was able to put all my ideas together so they made sense . It was eye opening how Erin could push my ideas in directions I didn't even know I would love. She gave my husband and I a beautiful space we can entertain in as well as be comfortable. You will fall in love with Erin as we have and will want to use her over and over again. We will definitely be calling on her in our future homes as we move and grow. Absolute Success!

Erin is an exceptional interior designer. She is passionate about her work and extremely knowledgeable & talented. Erin was engaged to do a wide array of designing - which consisted of choosing new wall colors, desk design, window sills, window treatments, new pieces of furniture and much more. She is also a problem-solver. We had an issue with condensation on certain walls and Erin was able to recommend a specific wall treatment that not only alleviated the problem but aesthetically it looked much better!! Probably the most challenging work was working with my tween-age daughter in a complete room re-design. This consisted of carpet & wallpaper selection, desk/ vanity & book shelf design, to creating a unique display of all her pictures and general overall room design. My daughter is very particular and wanted to partner with Erin to design and select all items to complete her room. I can say, without reservation, that Erin accomplished it all. My daughter’s room is magnificent. Erin is incredibly talented. I would highly recommend her and look forward to working with her again.

I bought a condo in park slope and needed some help in designing the whole place. I did not know anyone I was comfortable hiring to design my first apartment so wanted to really find the right one, right fit. I searched online and have emailed a bunch and met one prior to her. As soon as I met her in my place, I knew she was the one. She listened to what I had in mind but I also wanted her expert eye on colors and pieces throughout my apartment. She was quick to email me with ideas, laid out the plan in 3D, delivery, staging happened so smoothly. She was easy to talk to. Her suggestions on wall paper, furniture pieces, rugs, accessories, everything were all beautiful and what I imagined my apartment to be. She will design my next new home in the near future!!

Erin was absolutely amazing to work with as an interior designer. She is extremely talented and has an amazing vision for any type of design. It was my first time hiring a designer and I was nervous at first. I knew what color palette I wanted and the type of look I was going for but couldn't quite pinpoint exactly how I wanted everything to come together. The best thing I did was trusting her to finish the vision for our newly renovated UWS duplex. She not only helped me experiment with different colors and fabrics I wasn't used to but also expanded my perspective on design in general. Our place looks gorgeous and we get compliments all the time. I've been looking at some beautiful beach homes and will definately use her again in a heartbeat!
