George was very responsive and did a great job managing the overall aesthetics and functionality of the project. He cares deeply about delivering a beautiful bathroom with good usability. Most of the sub-contractors he used were great. The project stayed on budget but went a little longer than expected. Overall we had a great experience working with George.

Reliability is a critical element in trusting your contractor. George is always responsive, as are his subs. His recommendations for where to find everything we needed—from vanities to flooring also reflected George’s standards of quality. And his patience is truly a gift! High quality, good taste and a sense of humor...and reliability. The full package!

George recently completed a gut rehab of our master bathroom and the job was a spectacular success. He is a pleasure to deal with, has a good eye for design, and was extremely helpful with the inevitable design tweaks. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.

George has done 3 gut-reno bathrooms for us—2 last year in our current house (master and powder room), and one over 20 years ago in a different house. That house was recently on the market again, and when we went to the open house for fun, that master bath looked just as good as the day it was finished! George and his crew are great to work with, and we plan to use them again.

George is the very best. He redid a master bath that had not aged well and didn’t belong in our 1890s house. Now we have an elegant, bright black-and-white master bathroom with modern touches yet it feels right at home in our older home. He and Pablo and others he brought in were just great. We now see why he’s done most of the bathrooms on our block over the years. We’re already lining him up to do more projects, including another bathroom! Highest recommendations from our house. George Cortese’s work is outstanding. He completely renovated both bathrooms in our 1929 Tudor. The new rooms are gorgeous, and completely blend with the character of our home. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is exceptional, and he has a terrific eye for the aesthetics of the project. Whenever I was in doubt about a design decision, I asked for his advice and he was always right—he definitely saved me from making a few decisions I know I would have regretted later. His crew were all professional and courteous and a pleasure to have around. We would use George again for other projects, and will recommend him to all our friends.

I met George a few years back when I was doing some work in our house . I selected another contractor for the project which I ended up regretting. I never forgot how impressed I was by George' s knowledge and insightfulness at our first meeting . When we decided to embark on a major renovation on our third floor I knew I wanted George for the project ! In my 20 years of home renovations I can truly say that George was the best contractor I ever worked with. He was always on the premises to oversee the work , provided great suggestions when something unexpected occurred, and was meticulous about every aspect of the renovation. Plus he and our architect ( John Reimnitz who I also highly recommend!) were a pleasure to work with. Renovations are known to be stressful -- well this was the easiest project we ever did because we worked with such stellar professionals like George ! I look forward to working with him again on our next home project.

Renovated apartment kitchen, which comprised of removal of old cupboards, surfaces, flooring and appliances and replacement of same, repainting of walls and doors, and installation of new tile floor and backsplash. Cortese provided excellent workmanship and is a highly professional builder.

Cortese Kitchens & Baths completed several projects in my house: kitchen renovation, bathrooms, built-in bookshelves and radiator covers, and complete remodel of a garage to an art studio. George was wonderful to work with. He was helpful in discussing issues related to design and cared about every detail of the work. He and his team were professional and pleasant. Communication was excellent and work was always done when promised. The exceptional renovations George made to my house definitely contributed to the recent quick and successful sale of my home. I highly recommend Cortese Kitchens & Baths!

George did several projects when we moved into our new home. He was very knowledgeable, gave great advice and his work and that of those he subcontracted to was excellent. Cortese K&B did everything from redoing a bathroom and installing can lights and painting to fencing in our yard for the dog and creating window well covers for the basement windows. George is also an excellent builder/carpenter and is very easy to work with. He and his team are polite and professional. Always a pleasure.

George Cortese is an exceptional contractor. He is professional, respectful of the homeowners and his craftsmanship is outstanding. He also has a fantastic design sense. He understood what we wanted and helped us build our dream bathrooms, recreating details from 1928, the year the house was built, so the "new" construction fits in seamlessly with the character of the house. Usually the end of a job is spent chasing a contractor down to finish the punch list, but George finished up everything, left us a few surprise touches and finished with a flair. We will use George for all of our future renovations and recommend him highly to everyone!
